Chapter 8: He Is Out Of Sin Incarnate

Chapter 8: He Is Out Of Sin Incarnate

Brianna

“Yes, all of that sounds fine, I am a hard worker.” I assured him, Zaveri smirked in a cute way and slapped his hands down on his thigh to rub them.

“Oh, I bet, I am not worried at all.” He said.

Upon closer inspection, he has a dainty hoop nose piercing and from his t-shirt and shorts I could see the start of a few tattoos on his arms and legs. He was actually very handsome the more I looked at him and he was being sweet too, though I am not sure if that was for my sake or my brother's.

“My twin sister should be here any second.” He informed us and I was interested to meet her.

All I heard about her was from Bryce and he said that his future wife is sexy. Zaveri showed me around the shop and by the time we got back to the front room, Bryce and Sandra were having a little flirtatious conversation.

She is a hair dyed ash blonde with the same slightly upturned nose as her brother. She also has dark eyes and she lined it with black eyeliner wings. They have high cheekbones but have even more tattoos than her brother is. From her outfit, I could see them everywhere and she is very pretty too so I could see the appeal my brother had for her. She also has a lot of obvious piercing, angel bites and anti brow piercing and her lips roundish but full.

“Hey, is this her?” She smiled right away at the sight of me.

She was not the tallest girl but she was a few inches taller than me. She has a precooked or something tattooed right on her neck that you would think it takes away from her looks but it doesn't. It actually appeals to her aura perfectly and I could never pull it off. She is a badass, I can already tell.

“Hello,” I stupidly waved.

“Umm, thanks for having me work here.” I said to her and her brother.

“Anything for this man. He and his friend keep us in business.” She joked about the amount of times they come here to get tattooed.

I haven't seen my brother shirtless or anything so I don't know how many tattoos he had but not many were visible.

“We have several other employees but you will meet them in time. For now, I think we have shown you everything. Sandra, do you want to settle her work hours? I am not sure how many hours you are looking to work?” Zaveri said as he turned to me from the half circle we were standing in at the front room.

I looked at my brother, although I don't know why. I always settle my own affairs but they kept looking at him for approval and I accidentally did the same thing.

“We don't have to overdo it, have her come on your busiest days.” Bryce shrugged and the twins looked at each other and it was as if they spoke in some weird twin telepathy.

“Tuesdays, although Saturdays are always busiest. Thursday and Saturday being our peak days.” My darted between the two of them for their unison in that response.

“Sounds good, three days work a week.” My brother nudged me, I just nodded along. They were doing me a favor.

“Our business hours are eleven o'clock in the morning to seven in the evening. That will all be known to you when you start booking appointments for us.” Zaveri added.

“Honestly, I don't think you would need to be here for the full eight hours a day without getting bored. With what we will have you doing, I think one to seven work best for you.” Sandra said and her brother looked at her and my brother then to me.

“Unless you need the hours for money, if not, she is right. You don't need to be here that whole time.” He agreed with her and my brother nodded.

It felt like a business transaction, all of that was just fine with me though. I didn't want to be swamped with work, I also wanted to have a life here now that I felt like I could. I have been working hard for so many years, I was working my butt off in both schools and work for the past years and before that I was surviving off a job I wasn't proud of living with a guy who wasn't good for me. It has just been a long battle but maybe now I am finally able to breathe in some air. Bryce told me that he had enough for both of us, he told me I could rest. I don't remember the last time I even heard something like that, it felt nice.

“Well, since today is Monday, I assume you want me to start tomorrow then?” I got straight to the point and when they nodded, we settled things and spent a few more minutes chatting with them. I am now working in a tattoo parlor, how interesting.

I was left alone back in Callan's house once my brother dropped me off. I don't know where he goes but he was always out and so is Callan. I decided to spend my evening with chinese take out, a glass of red wine and sex and the city on the giant flat screen television in this massive living room. My feet were tucked under me on the couch while I balanced the long stem glass of wine on my thigh.

I was laughing out loud but my laughter halted when I realized the elevator had dinged which meant someone walked in. I glanced behind me at the foyer and stiffened. Callan had just entered the foyer in a dark suit and white button down, no tie. He was on his cellphone so he hadn't been looking up at first but once he felt my presence, his eyes snapped up and caught mine. All that dark hair on his head, furrowed brows, lashes and beard, it was like shadows cast on his handsome face and hood for his brilliant bedroom eyes. I don't think a man can look any more exquisite than this. If Satan is a sculpture, he truly carved Callan Harold out of sin incarnate.

Even stopping in his tracks, the way he had his frame was still tall and proud, firm and sure. He slid his phone back into his pocket, his shoes clicked when he took the few necessary steps to continue into the room.

“Hi,” I squeaked and his eyes trailed over me and then his coffee table was covered by a few containers of food. I swallowed hard.

“You are welcome to eat.” I offered, he took one and then two steps towards me and it was the closer he had ever gotten. He was a few feet away facing me instead of the stairs I thought he would walk to.

“Are you pairing a five thousand bottle of wine with five hundred food?” His deep voice was like honey over gravel. My eyes went wide and I glanced down at the glass on my thigh.

“Does it cost that much?” I was appalled, he didn't react.

He just looked at me with the same stone expression and it made me incredibly nervous but also incredibly guilty.
