Chapter 6 The New Appointment

At the entrance of the Sapphire Sky Hotel, sunlight slipped through the gaps between skyscrapers, casting a warm glow on the marble floor. Executives in sharp suits gathered around, their serious and expectant faces hinting at the big arrival of the new general manager.

"I heard it's Mr. Harris's daughter this time. They must be taking this inspection super seriously! She must be a real hard-ass," someone whispered, eyes glued to the entrance, not wanting to miss a thing.

Another exec, looking smug, sneered, "Mr. Harris has so many mistresses; this is probably some illegitimate daughter he doesn't give a damn about. If she were really important, why would she be sent to clean up this mess?"

Someone else chimed in, "Even if she is his real daughter, she's probably just a spoiled brat who only knows how to spend money. What other skills could she possibly have?"

As the gossip continued, a figure approached, and the sound of a car engine broke the chatter. The car door opened, and out stepped Isabella, dressed in a sleek business suit, her hair cascading over her shoulders, radiating elegance.

"Is she our new general manager?" someone in the crowd whispered, sneaking glances at Isabella, a mix of nerves and admiration in their eyes.

Isabella just smiled slightly, but she was ready. Instead of following the execs for the inspection, she decided to do a random check, clearly planning to catch them off guard.

As the executives slowly made their way into the hotel, Isabella headed towards the restaurant. The hallway oozed understated luxury. She pushed open the restaurant door, and the aroma of food hit her. She casually inspected the various dishes, her heart sinking.

The ingredients were a letdown: the seafood was dull and had a faint fishy smell; the vegetables had yellowing leaves that made her uneasy, as if they were hinting at something amiss.

"What is going on?" Isabella frowned, growing more concerned. She turned towards the bar, seeing the neatly arranged bottles, her heart tightened. She opened a bottle, noticing the pale yellow liquid was diluted. The quality of the drinks was way below the hotel's standards.

Isabella gritted her teeth, silently fuming. These were all bought by the hotel's deputy manager, Brian Scott. She knew this inspection wasn't just a formality; it was to uncover the hidden, poor conditions.

When she entered the guest rooms, the sight of the bedding was just as disappointing. Low-quality sheets and pillows, and even the fresh scent was missing. Isabella felt a wave of frustration. She realized that in this team, she not only had to manage the business but also fix a broken management system.

"How do you even manage this hotel? It's a complete disaster!" her voice echoed in the room, tearing apart all the masks of pretense and falsehood. Isabella knew that to improve the hotel's overall image and service quality, a complete overhaul was necessary.

She called the person in charge at Sapphire Sky Hotel, her tone calm but laced with anger. "What were you thinking when you were responsible for these purchases? These ingredients don't meet our standards, and the bedding is totally unfit for the hotel's image!"

The person in charge looked flustered, stammering, "We were trying to save costs."

"No excuses!" Isabella cut in, her gaze piercing. "Saving costs doesn't mean dropping quality! We're a high-end hotel; customer satisfaction is our lifeline! A three-hundred-dollar dining standard, and you serve this garbage?"

Everyone hung their heads, too scared to argue with Isabella's fierce questioning.

"Starting today, all suppliers need to be re-evaluated. I want every product in this hotel to meet the highest standards!" Isabella ordered, not holding back. "Brian, come to my office later to discuss procurement."

Back in her office, Isabella plopped into her chair, spinning it a few times in frustration. Not satisfied, her secretary Jerry Nelson took over, spinning the chair for her.

After a bit, Isabella finally calmed down and highly praised Jerry for his attentiveness, which made him blush..

"Isabella, you're the future president of Stellar Innovations Group. Can you act a bit more like a leader and stop teasing Jerry?" Samuel frowned slightly.

Isabella replied, ''How is this considered teasing? Jerry is so considerate; he definitely deserves to be praised''

Jerry's face turned even redder, and Isabella finally let him go. Samuel shook his head, a gentle and indulgent smile on his handsome face.

Soon, Brian entered the office, trembling. According to him, all the hotel bedding was from VirtualHome Creations.

What a coincidence! VirtualHome Creations was founded by Grace's brother, Terry Hernandez. No wonder Isabella felt uncomfortable as soon as she sat on it.

Just thinking about that hard mattress made her angry. Uncomfortable accommodations greatly affected guests' impressions of the hotel, no wonder the hotel's reputation was so poor!

"Brian, I want to replace all of VirtualHome Creations' products. What do you think?" Isabella asked deliberately.

"That's not appropriate. We have a long-term partnership with VirtualHome Creations." Brian stammered.

"Okay, I understand." Isabella didn't explain further, waving Brian away.

It seemed Brian had a good relationship with VirtualHome Creations, so he couldn't stay. But now was not the time to fire him, she would wait.

Isabella was contemplating the hotel's next steps when Samuel's phone rang. Isabella glanced casually at the screen, which displayed a familiar number. It was Michael. She wondered why he called Samuel.

To outsiders, Samuel appeared very amiable, but this did not include Michael, who was an enemy. He didn't want to waste words with Michael and didn't want Isabella to either, so he decisively hung up.

But the call persisted. After hanging up three times, Samuel was about to block the number, but Isabella signaled him to answer. Samuel couldn't refuse any of Isabella's requests.

"Alright, as you wish." Samuel leisurely pressed the speakerphone but didn't rush to speak.

"Mr. Harris, is Olivia with you?" Michael asked in a hoarse voice.

"Oh, you are Olivia's ex-husband," Samuel said mockingly.

"Watch your words. We haven't finalized the divorce yet. Technically, Olivia is still my wife."

The phone was put on speaker. Isabella said with a cold smile, "You brought Grace to live in our house during the marriage, forcing me to sign the divorce papers. Now that I've signed, you still harass me. Aren't you shameless?"

Samuel raised an eyebrow, taking a sip of water. This was Isabella, sharp and unyielding.
