Chapter 7 It's Different Now

Michael was fuming inside, but he kept it together, his voice heavy with fatigue. "Isabella, I can't argue with you right now. Grandpa's in the hospital, and he's been asking for you. He won't take his meds unless he sees you," Michael said.

Michael had no choice but to spill the beans. If Olivia showed up at the hospital, it might just help Robert get better.

Isabella had always cared about Robert the most since she left the Johnson family. When Michael told her the news, Isabella immediately showed a look of concern. "I'll head to the hospital right away!" she said, and Michael felt a bit of relief.

She drove through the sunlit traffic, her mind racing. Robert's kindness had been her only comfort in the past three years. She knew she had to see him, no matter what.

Just as she reached the hospital entrance, she spotted Grace and Zoey chatting by the wall. Despite the chaos in her heart, Isabella ignored them and headed straight for the ward.

Grace noticed Isabella and was stunned. 'Is this really Olivia?' Grace thought. Isabella looked completely different, like a queen. Her skin glowed, her makeup was flawless, and her lips were perfectly colored. Her simple makeup and hairstyle only added to her charm.

She wore a light-colored professional outfit from a famous designer, perfectly tailored to show off her graceful figure. Every detail screamed elegance and luxury.

Her jewelry was the cherry on top: sparkling diamond earrings, a unique ring, delicate gold bracelets, and a butterfly brooch worth five million dollars.

Today, Isabella was like a blooming flower, stunning and captivating. She had transformed from naive to confident and mature. It wasn't just her glamorous look; it was her whole vibe.

Grace felt a pang of inferiority, secretly fuming but keeping quiet. Zoey was a bit jealous too. But as they reached the ward door, Robert's assistant, Henry, stopped them.

"Sorry, you can't go in," Henry said coldly, his gaze firm. "Mr. Johnson doesn't want to see anyone right now."

Grace's face went pale; she hadn't expected this. She looked at Zoey, feeling awkward, while Zoey, not ready to give up, snapped, "We're not outsiders. We're here to see Robert. Why can't we go in?"

"Mr. Johnson is tired. Please leave," Henry said firmly, not budging an inch.

Isabella overheard the conversation from inside the room and smirked. She walked into the ward and saw Robert lying on the bed. He looked tired, but his eyes lit up when he saw her.

"Olivia, you're here," Robert said with a small smile, his voice warm and comforting.

"Grandpa, I came to see you. How are you feeling?" Isabella asked, sitting by the bed and holding his hand tightly, her heart full of concern.

Michael, who was also sitting by the bed, was stunned by Isabella's appearance. She had come straight from the hotel, still in her professional outfit, forgetting to change into her usual clothes at the Johnson Manor.

Michael was taken aback, almost not recognizing the woman who had been his wife for three years. Her attire, her demeanor—everything was different. "You're different," he said, almost in disbelief.

Isabella didn't want to embarrass Michael in front of Robert, so she didn't respond. She just held Robert's hand and said with a polite smile, "People change."

Robert sighed deeply. Seeing Isabella like this, he knew she no longer loved Michael. In the end, it was Michael's fault!

Robert struggled to sit up, glaring angrily. "You fool! How could you let go of such a good wife? What kind of wife do you want?"

Michael could only endure it, not daring to dodge or defend himself. Isabella found it amusing but, seeing Robert's pale and weak face, couldn't help but stop him.

"Grandpa, don't be mad at Michael. It's me who doesn't want to continue this marriage," Isabella said softly, patting Robert's back.

Michael's eyes widened, surprised that Isabella didn't complain or vent her grievances in front of Robert, using him to retaliate against Michael.

'Is she trying to win back my heart and our already doomed marriage in this special way?' Michael thought to himself, 'Olivia, where do you get the confidence to think I would be attracted to you?'

If Isabella could read minds and knew what Michael was thinking, she would have walked away immediately. She no longer loved such a foolish Michael.

Robert asked with concern, "Olivia, have you been wronged? Has Zoey been bad to you?" Isabella suspected that if she nodded, Robert would immediately rush out to confront Zoey.

"No, Grandpa, it's just that Michael and I are not suitable for each other. We can't get into each other's hearts, so separating is the best outcome for both of us," Isabella said, her bright eyes flashing with a barely noticeable sadness. "Don't blame Michael. We've had beautiful memories over the past three years, and that's enough. We don't regret it."

Beautiful memories? Did they have beautiful memories? They had a hasty marriage under Robert's pressure, and Isabella came to the Johnson Manor with simple luggage, becoming his wife in such a careless manner. What a joke!

Robert's eyes gradually reddened. He truly treated Isabella as his own granddaughter and wanted to be good to her, but instead, it made Isabella suffer a lot. This result made him question whether his way was wrong.

"Olivia, I'm sorry." Robert's eyes grew more clouded as tears streamed down his face. "Henry, bring the birthday gift I prepared for Olivia!"
