Chapter 9 Victoria Was Really Fierce

After hearing Victoria's story, Joseph felt a wave of relief. At least Victoria was okay, so he didn't have to worry about Michael getting mad at him.

So, how did all this happen? It kicked off when Victoria followed the staff to Violet's office.

When Victoria first walked in, Violet was lounging in a massive office chair, her long legs in black stockings looking all kinds of seductive. Victoria was momentarily taken aback by Violet's beauty.

Violet was drop-dead gorgeous, especially with that mole at the corner of her mouth adding to her charm. With her leather outfit and those black stockings, no regular guy could resist.

But Violet's stare made Victoria super uncomfortable. That arrogant, disdainful look was just as off-putting as the security guard at the apartment.

Even though Victoria wasn't a fan of Violet, she still had a job to do. She pulled out the paper bag from her arms and handed it to Violet with both hands.

"Ms. Cooper, my president asked me to return this. He said he can't accept these from you." Victoria thought she was being pretty polite. Even the most arrogant person should have some limits. But Victoria totally underestimated Violet's lack of boundaries.

Violet didn't even reach for the paper bag, leaving Victoria holding it awkwardly. Just as Victoria's arm started to ache and she was getting impatient, Violet finally spoke up.

"Your president has some nerve. I invite him to dinner, and he sends a lowly employee like you to turn me down?" Violet's voice dripped with resentment.

'She’s so full of herself. The guy she likes must be really handsome. So, our president is a good-looking guy. But why would he turn down Violet's invitation? Maybe he has a super strict wife at home? That must be it! No regular guy would say no to someone as hot as Violet,' Victoria thought, feeling like she had cracked the case, but she had no idea the woman she was thinking of was actually herself.

Despite her suspicions, Victoria knew better than to badmouth the president behind his back. Choosing her words carefully, she shrugged and said apologetically, "Sorry, Ms. Cooper, my president said he appreciates your gesture, but he already has a woman he loves dearly. He will only love her for the rest of his life, so you should give up."

Victoria thought she was being super tactful and polite, but Violet's face twisted with rage. She not only slapped the file bag out of Victoria's hand but also pointed at her nose and insulted her.

"Who do you think you are, telling me what to do?" Violet's insults got nastier with each word.

"Are you nuts? I'm just here to return the money. I kindly advise you, and you insult me? Do you think I have no temper?" Victoria pointed at Violet's nose and shouted back, her voice way louder than Violet's.

Violet was fuming. Not only did Victoria not take the insults quietly, but she also had the nerve to talk back. Violet wanted to hurl more insults, but Victoria didn't give her the chance.

"It was my president who turned you down, not me! What's the point of insulting me? Go yell at him! Or are you too scared and just taking it out on me? Let me tell you, I'm not your employee, and I won't put up with your crap! I'm insulting you now, what are you gonna do about it? Go complain to my president, see if he cares! No wonder he rejected you, with your nasty attitude, he'd be nuts to like you." Victoria fired off so quickly that Violet couldn't get a word in.

Violet's face went from red to pale. "Ms. Cooper, I didn't realize your face changes color!" Victoria's sharp words completely enraged Violet.

Knowing she couldn't out-argue Victoria, Violet grabbed a glass of red wine from the table and splashed it on her. Victoria didn't see that coming, and the wine hit her right in the face.

"Oh, you wanna play dirty?" Victoria sneered, grabbed another glass of red wine from the table, and splashed it back at Violet.

"I'll fight you!" Violet, never having been humiliated like this, screamed and lunged at Victoria, her long fingers aiming for Victoria's hair. But Victoria was quicker. She blocked Violet's hands and slapped her twice, leaving Violet stunned.

Recovering, Violet screamed and looked for a weapon, quickly spotting a bottle of red wine on the office display. She grabbed it and hurled it at Victoria.

Victoria was startled and quickly dodged. The wine bottle smashed against the wall, shattering into pieces and leaving a blood-red stain.

The sound of the breaking bottle alerted Joseph outside the door. Victoria dodged the bottle and screamed as she charged at Violet.

"You crazy woman, I need to teach you a lesson!" Victoria grabbed Violet's hair, pinned her on the sofa, and started punching her in the face.

When Joseph rushed in, this was the scene he saw. Joseph pulled Victoria away, finally stopping the beating. But by then, Violet's face was covered in tears and snot. She glared venomously at Victoria, but Victoria's fierce glare made her step back in fear.

Joseph noticed Victoria's fierceness and shook his head with a wry smile. He was a bit worried about Michael's future married life.

"Ms. Gonzalez, what on earth happened?" Joseph asked, startled by Victoria's fierce look.

Fortunately, Victoria quickly calmed down. "I hit her because she started it. It was self-defense. If necessary, I'll pay her medical bills. There's money here anyway," Victoria said, picking up the paper bag from the floor and pulling out a handful of cash.

"Take this money and buy some good medicine at the hospital to treat your stupidity!" Victoria threw the money in Violet's face. It felt incredibly satisfying to throw money at someone.
