Chapter 4: Rejected Luna.
Amaarae's POV
I looked around, I felt dejected though it was expected..I knew he was going to leave after all.
Alphas could sense the hierarchy and I was at the bottom with no skills or powers. We had sex and mated based on his primal instincts and nothing more.
I had to convince myself so it wouldn't hurt but it hurt. I sat there for God knows how long, reminiscing about the moments we spent together.
They were faint now.
I had to let it go, so I got up even with the ache in between my legs. My legs wobbled from the aftermath of our rigorous activities in the woods, in different positions and places.
He bent me so much that I felt that I was turning into a wolf while his dick touched everywhere in my insides. He left marks all over, not only on my neck.
The mark on my neck, a connection to my mate: his emotions, thoughts, strengths and weaknesses. As his mate, I could easily kill him so I served as his biggest weakness.
I thought about various things as I walked out of the creepy forest, they matched his and he penetrated my mind. As weak as I was, I was still strong. I pushed him out, cutting off access temporarily. He could always come back.
I walked out of the forest finally.. I moved into a small hut just nearby. It was secluded from the rest of the village, there was smoke pouring out of the chimney.
I rushed into the house, and a section of the hut caught fire. I was down for. This was literally everything I had and it was going into shambles and ruins.
I screamed and yelled for help, the men rushing in with buckets of water to quench it while they threw questioning looks at my careless act.
They left quickly after they were done, they didn't forget to mumble some word of advice that I never really asked for but I was a woman and I needed it. I stared at the black ruins that dangled in the air, the roasty smell of the smoke still floated in the air.
A reminder that it happened.
I couldn't just stay here, I needed to leave and take a breather but where? There wasn't really a place, everywhere I went, I was seen as a token of bad luck or news.
The women gossiped and the men threw nasty looks at my sides, they probably saw me as an easy target to be bullied.
I went back to nights when they broke in and tried to have their ways with me, I fought hard and long to stake my stance in this community though I was still away.
I finally decided to take a trip to the market. Good food makes one happy they say so I decided to do that..maybe some vegetables and meat would do the trick.
My stomach rumbled after I was done with my words and I couldn't just help but giggle.
I rubbed it softly and spoke to it like it was a child, “ I will get you something sweet and yummy, dearest.” I bursted into a cackle, kicking my feets in happiness.
All the sorrow buried in the past.
I tied my hair into a loose braid and slipped on my favorite slippers. I could feel the soft breeze rustle my skirt.
I pulled the door open, the sweet scent of snacks greeting me with a humble smile..my mouth begging for a taste and my nostrils leading to the source.
I followed it with small steps and a grin worn on my face, I skipped steps and hopped until I got to the stand. I smiled brightly at the man, greeting him cheerfully as I bought sweet strawberry pies.
It was covered and drizzled with frozen chocolate, I took a bite and it melted in my mouth, sending me to the 9th heavens. I closed my eyes and threw my head back in pleasure, it was so sweet that my taste buds exploded and I saw multiple colors at once.
I couldn't stop myself, I ordered another, which I gobbled up and I kept on ordering until I could no longer fit them in. I just stood there with my hand placed on my stomach and my eyes flattened as I couldn't see a thing.
The man was proud and satisfied, he offered me a seat, which I refused but he insisted and I had no other choice but to sit. He gave me some blueberry juice, I pulled out some money to pay but he said, “ It's on the house.” I was honestly surprised, this was the first time someone in the village was nice to me.
“ I can't accept this sir.” I said with a tiny voice, peeking at him from my fingers. He laughed with a rumble, pulling his mustache lightly, he said, “ Too bad. There are no options.”
I was wide eyed, I smiled genuinely and I embraced him before he knew what was happening. I started sobbing pitifully on his shoulders from the shock, I just couldn't believe it and just as he calmed me down and was petting me
He was saying, “ Dear..dear..it's okay.”
There was a commotion cutting him off, it was a carriage and it rode straight to my direction. My breath hitched and I turned to run, catching Mr by surprise.
But the men in the carriage were faster, they surrounded me and one of them pulled out a scroll from the side of their waist and said, “ His royal majesty wishes to see you immediately. Please follow us.”
I had no words to explain how I felt at the moment, I got in and we rode in silence. Only I was inside the carriage, the rest were outside. It was big and luxurious with gold cravings, so I closed my eyes to take a quick nap.
When they suddenly yelled, “ We are here.” I stepped out of the carriage and my eyes met a magnificent building designed in a gothic manner with the slashes of black and red.
It gave me butterflies.
I followed their directions, I moved with them into the big hall.
He sat there on the throne.
I stared right at him before I noticed that we were surrounded by people, they all murmured when they saw me like they were waiting for me.
He stood up, silencing them as they went on their knees and he released his aura. They hailed, “ Long live the werewolf Alpha.”
His eyes were on mine as he shut them up with his eyes and then he said, “ I declare…
“ Amaarae Saint, not my mate.”
