5. Special Uniform
Harlan smiled as Dean returned.
“You did great today, Dean. Have a good rest,” Harlan said.
“Okay, Master,” Dean replied.
“I’ve told Alexa a few things, so take this girl to get the chip installed. If your battery is low, charge it first,” Harlan said.
“Okay.”
“One more thing, if you have any rules for Alexa, tell her. That’s it. You may go.”
Dean nodded and turned around.
Alexa was still standing there, confused about what the two men were doing.
“What are you waiting for? Just follow Dean. He’ll show you something else. Later, I’ll leave your business to Dean,” Harlan said, waking up the silent Alexa.
“Okay. I’ll be back if I need anything,” Alexa said.
Harlan just nodded and the girl followed Dean’s steps who had already reached Harlan’s room door.
Without saying much, Dean took Alexa to a room below the first floor. If on Earth, it would be underground or a basement. It turned out to be like a secret room. There were many equipment and the room was three times bigger than Harlan's room. Maybe as big as a shooting range. In another room, there was a stockpile of weapons, and other equipment neatly arranged.
"You're back?" Dean approached Azura who was filling something on a transparent screen in a cubicle.
Azura turned and nodded.
"Just got back. There were about ten people injured, three of them seriously injured, one critical, the rest only had minor injuries. They are all being treated in the hospital," Azura explained as if reporting to Dean.
"Good job," said the man while patting Azura's shoulder as if encouraging her.
"You too," replied Azura.
Alexa who watched that was silent, feeling the warmth caused by the two of them like family. Suddenly Alexa's eyes filled with tears remembering her brother on Earth.
"What are you doing here?" Azura asked then.
Dean did not answer but turned to Alexa followed by Azura who also looked at the girl.
"There is still a uniform, right? Master Harlan told me to give Alexa a uniform," said Dean.
"Oh, there is. Wait a minute,” Azura said and went off somewhere.
Azura came back with something in her hand.
“There’s only this, I think it suits Alexa,” Azura approached Alexa who was still standing and handed Alexa a box.
The girl accepted it and was a little confused.
“Come on, I’ll help you put it on,” Azura said again while turning Alexa’s body around and pushing her into a room to change clothes.
Not long after, Alexa came out again with different clothes than before. Now Alexa was the same as Azura and Dean. The robot uniform that Alexa was wearing adjusted to her size and made it comfortable on Alexa’s body. The clothes moved on their own as Alexa was silent in amazement seeing it. Now the girl was like a robot. Alexa’s palms touched her arms and other body parts to make sure. The uniform was made of iron, steel, and others like the robots in Alexa’s world, Earth.
“Wow!” The girl couldn’t help but exclaim in awe at the miracle she witnessed. Alexa had never felt anything this comfortable in her life.
“Wow! So beautiful,” Azura praised as Alexa came out of the dressing room.
Azura’s gaze swept over Alexa’s body and turned the girl around with a big smile.
“So cool. Black suits you,” Azura said after seeing Alexa.
Alexa only replied with a smile and the girl looked into the mirror. The uniform Alexa was wearing was all black, forming Alexa’s well-groomed, slender body.
“I like this,” Alexa said.
The two girls stared at each other through the mirror in front of them. Something crossed Alexa’s mind.
“You’re not surprised at all?” the girl said while looking at Azura.
Azura stared back.
“I’ve been watching you since earlier. Since we first met, you didn’t seem surprised. Do you know who I am?” Alexa asked Azura.
There was no direct answer from Azura, but she circled Alexa’s body as if looking for something from behind the uniform or making sure everything was safe without being suspected.
“Yes, I know. I’m waiting for you,” Azura finally answered.
Alexa looked surprised and turned her gaze towards Azura who had now stopped right in front of Alexa.
“Master Harlan is a fortune teller, and tells the characteristics of people who will come according to the prophecy,” Azura admitted then. “I’m not that surprised because you’re human, because Master Harlan is also a human that we know,” Azura continued explaining.
That’s when Alexa understood something, the reason Harlan made the place a kind of headquarters was because Azura or Dean’s family could be trusted.
“I once lived with Master Harlan so it’s not surprising,” Azura said. “Oh, yes. I’m Dean’s sister, that’s what Master Harlan said. There’s the same DNA as Dean when I was created.”
Alexa didn’t know how many times she had been surprised. It seemed like the girl wasn’t used to everything there, which still made Alexa wonder, and even wonder because Alexa would never get it on Earth. Right now Alexa was still not used to something foreign or other strange events.
“So, have you made a decision?” Azura asked again after making sure the uniform Alexa was wearing was safe.
"Yes. If I am indeed the person in Master Harlan's prophecy, then I can stop this war, right?"
Azura nodded her head.
"But right now, I still have to find out how to stop this war. But, Master Harlan told me to be careful because maybe the enemy wants me too," Alexa continued.
"Yes, that's right. So, you have to take care of yourself. Just so you know, I'm ready to help," said Azura.
Alexa looked at the girl and smiled.
"Thank you," said Alexa.
The two of them then went out of the dressing room to meet Dean. The man was still there, waiting without moving an inch.
"Isn't Alexa cool?" asked Azura enthusiastically.
Dean just watched Alexa for a moment without commenting at all and Azura sneered at Dean's flat reaction.
"You take care of it here, I'll take Alexa to Jasfer," said Dean.
Alexa, who was confused by Dean's words, looked at Azura.
"Why Jasfer?" Azura seemed to disagree.
"He's the most accurate and strongest," replied Dean.
"But Jasfer—"
“We don’t have much time. Jasfer can use it quickly. I also have to get back to the front lines before the next attack,” Dean interrupted.
The two of them argued in a way that Alexa didn’t understand.
“Alexa will be in pain, Dean,” Azura said.
This time Dean seemed silent and then looked at Alexa.
“Alexa is still human, not like our robots. Alexa will be in pain. So don’t Jasfer,” Azura seemed to be pleading.
Dean just stared at Alexa.
“I’ll take care of her. You stay alert,” Dean decided, completely unable to be persuaded and turning his body away from there.
Once again Alexa didn’t understand what the two brothers meant. Azura remained there, asking Alexa to follow Dean and saying, “Do whatever you can to hold her back, even if it hurts Dean.”
Alexa was getting more confused. Dean’s call that was far enough away made Alexa unable to respond to Azura’s words and rushed to catch up with Dean.
Still on the same floor as Azura, only in a different room. The place was very large and divided into several sectors. There were also several robots walking there, seemingly busy with their affairs.
Alexa's footsteps stopped when she found Dean waiting for her in front of the door. Then the man entered the room first. There was someone there who had been waiting for them.
Alexa knew that the man waiting for them was a robot. However, the man appeared to be wearing a clean white robe. On Earth, they would be called doctors.
"Mr. Harlan, are you serious?" The man approached them.
Dean just nodded.
"Okay. Hello, I'm Jasfer. Mr Harlan has announced your arrival here," said the man named Jasfer.
"Alexa," Alexa answered briefly while accepting Jasfer's outstretched hand.
Jasfer is a robot doctor. He is famous for his fast and special healing techniques.
"Are you sure, De?" Jasfer asked to convince Dean.
"As Master Harlan said," Dean answered still flatly.
"But I've never done it to a human. Alexa is still human, Dean, human!" Jasfer emphasized.
"Just do it. I'll take care of it. If someone else handles it, it will only attract the enemy's attention. You know about the prophecy and you can be trusted. I'll take care of it." Dean assured Jasfer.
Alexa would be fitted with a chip by Jasfer but the man seemed hesitant because he had never fitted a chip to a human, the patients Jasfer had treated so far were only robots. However, if the installation of the chip on Alexa was delayed, it would make things difficult for Alexa herself because she might feel hungry, even though the girl had been thirsty before.
"Just do it. If not, she will die," Dean said firmly.
Jasfer finally agreed, whether he wanted to or not.
Although he still couldn't fully understand, Alexa sat on the chair Dean had given him. Jasfer himself closed the door and locked it tightly.
"If you feel pain, don't hold it in. Just let it out," Dean said to Alexa who was starting to get restless in her seat.
Alexa nodded. The girl didn't know how painful it was when the chip was inserted, but she could already imagine the feeling clearly in her mind.
Jasfer seemed prepared. Dean sat across from Alexa and nodded at Jasfer as he got down to work. Alexa grabbed Dean's hand, her breathing began to rise and fall rapidly, and she began to feel scared.
