CHAPTER 5:

Nora's POV:

“Nora,” A Soft feminine voice called as everywhere shone in the darkness.

“Nora,” the voice called again and the darkness suddenly paved the way to immense light.

“Nora Wheeler,” the soft voice called again, and the light hit my eyelids. I slowly opened my eyes, squinting as I tried to adjust to the light.

My eyes quickly adjusted to the light rays, and I found myself in the field of beautiful flowers of different kinds.

I looked down and I was dressed in a flowing white gown which blew with the flowers against the wind.

“Nora,” the voice called again, and I raised my gaze to see a majestic figure covered in a flowing white cloak standing a few meters away from me.

“Nora,” she said, her sweet voice moving with the wind. I felt pulled by her voice, and I started to walk forward. I stopped barely a few inches from her.

“Nora Wheeler, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler of the Silver Fang pack,” the woman said and I approached her, curiosity etched on my face. "Who are you?" I asked.

I saw her smile gently, and she slowly pushed her hood backward, revealing a beautiful face. Her beauty was ethereal, and her olive skin shone like moonlit marbles. Her hair was a beautiful shade of silver, and her eyebrows had the same color. She had beautiful light brown eyes that seemed to glow as she smiled.

“Hello, Nora,” she greeted calmly. “I am here to take you with me.”

“I am the Moon Goddess,” she said, and I felt myself getting lost in her voice.

“Moon Goddess,” I repeated in a low voice and moved closer to her. Her white gown sparkled, making everything around her seem like a background.

“If I am seeing you now, does that mean that…” I said, looking at her surprised.

“Am I... truly dead?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

The Moon Goddess nodded sympathetically. “Yes, child. But do not cry. Your pain has reached me, and I shall grant your request.”

I felt stunned, but her comforting words soothed my soul. I raised my head, and she offered her hand.

“Come, Nora,” she said, her smile warm.

I took her hand, and a brilliant light suddenly appeared before us.

I exchanged a short smiley glance with her, and I felt an overwhelming sense of happiness. I looked at the bright light, which became a portal, and walked with her into it.

Suddenly, I found myself in a grand house surrounded by opulent furnishings. The house designs were old, and I noticed an oversized vintage mirror sitting on a large table by the corner of the room.

By the left was a decorated wardrobe that also looked vintage. Beautiful coral curtains decorated the walls covering the window. The room was neat, and my eyes traced until I saw a slender young woman with raven-dark hair lay motionless on the bed.

She had pale, beautiful skin that shone like milk, and beautiful freckles adorned her face. A bruise marred her neck.

“Who is she?” I asked, releasing the Moon Goddess's hand.

“This is your vessel,” she replied.

“My vessel?” I asked, surprised.

“Yes, your vessel,” the Moon Goddess repeated.

“Why?” I asked, and the Moon Goddess walked closer to the bed, looking at the lifeless body.

“She is Becky Stone, the 22-year-old daughter of Elder Stone of Shadow Pack,” the Moon Goddess answered.

“Becky Stone,” I repeated, trying to pitch everything together. “Elder stone….shadow pack!” I exclaimed.

My eyes widened in shock. “Isn't that the rival pack leader who killed my parents?” I gasped, horror etched on my face.

The Moon Goddess nodded. “Yes. She will be your new vessel for your revenge.”

“No,” I pleaded. “Please, I would take anybody but hers. She's the daughter of my sworn enemies. I can't take her body,” I continued.

“It is either this or no other way,” the Moon Goddess said.

“Please, there must be some other way. I can't bear it. To leave with my parents' murderers. No, I won't do it!” I protested.

“Then you forfeit your idea to take revenge,” the Goddess said calmly.

I couldn't let go of my revenge. I wanted to hurt Nelson and Sophia as they had hurt me. There was no way I could let that go.

“Pick, my dear. I haven't got all day,” she said, but I could not decide. Do I take the body of my enemy or forfeit my revenge? The daughter was innocent, but so was I. Why did it have to be her? I could manage anyone else but not her. Why this?

The Moon Goddess noticed my dilemma, and she smiled. “So, it's settled then. I bid you farewell. Remember, do not hurt anyone except those who did you wrong. I would not tolerate any wrong spilling of blood. Do you understand?” She asked, and I nodded.

“But, can you really not change her for me?” I asked, but the Moon Goddess shook her head and kissed me.

“Goodbye,” she said, and I felt a sudden pull draw me into Becky's body.

“No!” I yelled. “I won’t go in, please. No!” I complained, and I felt my soul get sucked into Becky's body.

I began to feel movements in my body, and nerves and air filled my lungs. Immediately, Becky's body gasped for air, waking up.

“Oh my,” I gasped as I touched my new face.

“I came back,” I said, grateful for the feeling of life again.

“I really came back,” I said, and my eyes caught the mirror on the wall.

I rose slowly from the bed, my new body unfamiliar. I approached the mirror, and a pair of bright blue eyes greeted me. I touched my face, studying the freckles.

“You're beautiful,” I whispered secretly, appreciating the Moon Goddess for not listening to me.

Just then, the door opened, and two people entered.

“Becky!” The old woman screamed and ran to hug me.
