6. Challenge!

Author's POV

"Damon, are you serious?"

Yang asked in disbelief as they left the meeting.

He was bothered by his unbothered behaviour.

"You are going to marry that girl?... Last night you said that she is not your type and she is literally not your type... You will destroy her life, she is innocent and you ___"

"Me what?"

Damon gave him a death stare and Yang paused.

"Womanizer? Fuck random girls? can't be loyal?"

He raised his eyebrows at him.

"Brutal but yes!"

Yang nodded.

"I am your friend and I have to show you a mirror... Durga is a very simple girl, I don't think she is going to handle your lifestyle."

Damon smirked.

"You are so naive, Yang... You still don't know me!"

Yang frowned at him.

"What are you trying to do?"

"You will know when time comes!"

He threw hand on his shoulder.

Meanwhile Durga looked at the old man shocked when he informed them that she was going to marry Damon.

"What?"

"Any problem?"

He looked at her sternly but softened his tone when he noticed that Damon was entering the hall.

"Damon is a good guy and you are lucky that he has selected you as his partner."

Durga looked at Tara who was equally shocked.

"Baba?"

She couldn't understand how to react and he raised his eyebrows threateningly.

Maya silently squeezed her hand and Durga understood the message.

"Okay!"

She mumbled looking at Damon who was watching them silently.

"Good!"

He patted her head and she flinched knowing there is nothing loving in his actions. He just knows how to dictate.

"We need to do preparations as soon as possible... There is a lot of work, so get ready... Maya, I want you to talk to Damon and understand how he wants the wedding to be, don't disappoint him... His wedding should be memorable!"

He smiled.

"Of course!"

Maya nodded.

"कितनी ख़ुशी की बात है.  माया, घर में मिठाई बांटो" (It's a big good news, why is everyone silent... Maya, distribute sweets in the house.)

Kalindi exclaimed.

Durga looked at Maya scared.

"It's okay, everything will be fine!"

She assured.

"At least, he is a foreigner."

Tara whispered.

"You can wear your short clothes!"

"Shut up, Tara!... It's not funny!"

Durga scolded her.

Damon smiled at Durga and walked out. She noticed it and followed him.

"Damon!"

She called him.

He stopped and smirked, knowing that she was going to follow him.

"Durga!"

He looked at her.

She looked at him awkwardly.

"Whatever Baba said..."

She cleared her throat.

"Is true!"

He confirmed.

"It's equally shocking for me as it is to you... I wasn't expecting him to put that condition to finalize the deal!"

He lied.

She looked at him sadly, instantly believing him.

"He can do anything for his business... He doesn't have a heart."

He knew this is exactly how she was going to react and it was going just according to his plan.

"Are you okay?"

He asked gently.

She shrugged.

"I don't know!... I am still processing it!"

He could see her trembling hands.

"I know I can't do anything in this... If he has made the decision then I have to marry you but..."

She gulped.

"How's my life going to be after marriage, Damon."

He sighed.

"I won't give you false hope, beautiful... It's just like this family, even worse!... We are known as the most ruthless family in the mafia world..."

She gulped as her eyes watered.

"Will I get the freedom?"

"No!"

He didn't like creating fear in her mind but it was important for him.

"There are certain rules which you need to follow..."

She didn't realise that he was manipulating her.

"You will be nothing but a trophy wife, who will do everything as told!"

Tears escaped her eyes as she imagined it.

"I am sorry"

She wiped her tears but they didn't stop.

"Excuse me!"

She ran away from him.

Damon sighed looking at her.

"Sorry, Durga... But your involvement is important to execute my plan..."

He was smiling at his first victory when he saw Mira in the garden. She was sitting on the bamboo chair and was writing something in her notebook. Her free hair covered her face like curtains and teased him by showing a glimpse of her eyes with a dancing wind. He couldn't understand what was there in her eyes that it captivated him despite hating her so much.

He stared at her amused and her perfect brows scrunched together cutely. She was unaware of her surroundings, and has created her own small world because people have refused to involve her in their world.

He didn't realise when his legs found their ways to her. She was still focused and he got curious to know what has grabbed her attention so much that she is unaware of her surroundings.

He looked at her book and saw that she was drawing.

It was impressive.

"Ugly! Just like you!"

He mocked bringing her out of her world.

She quickly closed the book and looked at him with frown while getting up.

"तमीज़ नहीं है? Creep!" (Don't you have manners? Creep!)

She glared at him.

He smirked.

"Doesn't matter what you think about me because your family thinks of me as a good man..."

She scoffed.

"They know your reality, they are just licking your boots because you are useful to them."

"I would have agreed but I think it's not the only reason..."

He chuckled.

"Or else they wouldn't have agreed for mine and Durga's marriage"

The ground beneath her feet slipped away when she heard him.

"You are lying!"

She shook her head in horror.

He felt good after looking at the horror in her eyes.

"Am I?"

He whispered in his thick dark voice with a mischievous look.

Mira shook her head and rushed towards the door while leaving everything behind, she was worried about Durga.

She was half way through the garden when Damon grabbed her arm and pulled her back. She got slammed on his chest and hissed at his tight hold.

She glared at him as fire blazed in her eyes and she raised her hand to slap again but he caught it and twisted behind her back. She moaned in pain as he wasn't gentle.

"Not this time, little fire!..."

"Leave me!... Fucking pervert!"

She struggled.

Damon locked her body and looked at her hatefully.

"You didn't congratulate me?"

He mocked.

"Fuck off!"

She spat trying to handle the pain in her arm.

"Wait till I crush this arrogance of yours..."

He gritted while holding her tightly.

"War has begun, save your sister from me if you can..."

"You can't hurt her!"

She growled at him furiously.

"Well, I am doing it!"

He challenged.

"I am going to hurt each and every person who is dear to you... Stop me if you can..."

She tried to release her arm but he pulled her closer and she froze at the closeness.

"Leave me!"

She warned.

"Actually don't!"

She challenged.

"Let people see how their soon to be son in law is handling the woman!"

Damon smirked at her words.

"It won't take me seconds to prove you characterless, little fire!... Don't fuck with me"

She looked at him disgusted. Actually, he was right. Mira knows that they won't believe her if he makes up any story.

Damon noticed Madhan coming out of the door and he quickly pulled Mira behind the tree trunk.

"What the hell are you doing?"

She cursed.

Damon placed his hand on her mouth before Madhan could hear her.

"Shhh"

He warned and her stomach churned when she glanced at Madhan.

Damon removed his hand from her mouth and looked at those nervous lips from close. Her wild scent teased her as his eyes travelled from her lips to chin and to delicate neck where his hand was wrapped yesterday. Her chest rose up and down as she kept her eyes on Madhan, completely forgetting that she was in his hold.

Damon closed his eyes as her loose hair strands caressed his face softly.

She is small in front of him, a delicate and soft looking woman but he has realised that she is not the way she looks. She is furious, wild and holds the craziness in her.

She was still focused on glancing at Madhan and praying that he won't see them or else she will be in trouble again which she is avoiding after last night. Meanwhile Damon was focused on her. Everything was perfect except the white colour she was wearing. The plain boring saree wasn't doing justice to her beauty.

Finally Madhan walked away and she sighed in relief, just to realise that Damon is still harassing her. She gritted and stomped on his feet.

Damon groaned as sharp pain shot through his toe. She grabbed the opportunity and pushed him back while dashing towards the door before he could catch her again.

He closed his eyes when her long hair again slapped his face as she threw them back before running away.

He smirked when she looked back as she reached the door and disappeared inside.

"How far are you going to run, little fire?"

He started walking inside and noticed the book in which she was drawing. He grabbed it and checked her drawings, it wasn't ugly like he mocked her.

He placed the book in his jacket and walked away with an evil smile.
