Draco's Betrayal

Logan's POV

I was about to leave the hotel suite with my brother, Draco Biancardi, when I spotted the lady’s purse lying on the floor. Draco had been strangely touchy yesterday and had shut the door on the lady, which led her to forget the purse. Draco was my twin brother, with whom I ran the Biancardi Mafia family and ruled much of the city. I picked up the purse, checking out the bundle of perfectly crafted leather, while unconsciously reminiscing about our night together. Our time together was exceptional and breathtaking. It was the kind I would like to experience again, but I was never one to linger around. The fact that she had been a virgin intrigued me more. I had never come across one, despite the huge list of ladies I had dated. In fact, I thought she had a vague resemblance to someone I know, but I couldn't remember who that was.

Draco turned to me from the door. “That must be the lady’s purse; leave it to the receptionist when we leave, and hurry Logan; Cole is waiting for us in the restaurant, you don’t want to keep your nephew waiting,” he said, with a bit of grudge.

I had no idea why Draco was a bit touchy since he found the lady in my room. Well, I didn’t try to think about it; Draco had always been an enigma that I could not solve, despite the bond we shared as twins. The only thing I was certain about Draco was that he cared deeply for Cole, our late elder brother’s son.

We reached the restaurant minutes later and found Cole’s table. He was with a girl—the first time I would see him with one. She was beautiful, and her wild eyes seemed to harbor many secrets.

“Hi,” she said, withdrawing her hand from Draco to me for a handshake. “I am Martha Brooks.”

I took her hand and kissed the back of her palm. I gave her a harmless smile. “You are so dangerously pretty, Miss Martha. I am not sure if I am entirely safe around you,” I said, not trying to flirt but unable to control that side of me.

She chuckled lightly, a pink flush coming on her cheeks. Cole’s eyes strayed to the purse in my hands, and he snickered.

“Finally, a lady has been able to tie down the mighty Logan,” he chuckled.

I stared down at my hand as I took my seat, now aware I had taken the purse with me. I returned Cole’s amused smile. “Not exactly, Cole. I just happened to encounter a very beautiful lady yesterday. She bumped into Draco on the stairs and picked up the key to my room instead of hers. Then she let herself into my room while I showered…” I was eager to narrate and boast of my exploits to my only nephew when Draco interrupted me with a rebuking yell.

“Logan, this is not about you, but about Cole and his girl. Don’t ruin the day for your nephew,” Draco said.

Cole chuckled. “Don’t worry, Uncle Draco, I want to hear all of Uncle Logan’s tale,” Cole said, exaggerating his interest in my story.

“And so you will,” I grinned and shot Draco a wink in triumph. Then I continued my narration, skipping the steamy part of my tale. “I gave her my card, and I am sure she is going to call soon,” I ended my narration.

“How are you sure?” Cole asked, skeptical yet intrigued.

“They always do; I never lose touch with the ladies. I know how to make them tick. How about I do a little practical for you?” I said. “I will get a lady to accept to court me right here, right now,” I boasted.

“That’s impossible,” Cole exclaimed, amused.

“Then watch me,” I grinned, searching around for a suitable victim in the large restaurant with my eyes. And that was when I spotted her again. She wore the same sheath gown as before that carved out her exquisite shape and revealed her long, beautiful legs. She was walking to our table, probably coming for her purse. Cole’s and Martha’s were backs to her. They turned and followed the trail of my eyes to find her. I grinned, thinking aloud. “The perfect victim.”

My grin turned sour when I found Draco standing up from his seat, moving towards her. He scooped her into his arms and buried his lips on hers. I watched, and so did Cole and Martha. I can’t describe the emotion coursing through me at that moment, but I knew I felt hurt and betrayed.
