Chapter 4 The Hypocritical Mia
"Regardless of the reactions outside, the glass greenhouse was warm and humid, sunlight streaming through the glass and illuminating two scarred bodies. Lewd sounds and coarse whispers spilled from Sophia's lips as they moved against each other.
In this see-through, almost completely exposed house, Sophia tilted her head back, lost in the thrill of making love where anyone could catch them at any moment.
Back at Ethan's estate, the noble rules were always a pain. Plus, Sophia and Ethan hadn't tied the knot yet. Even though the Martinez Family had set up a room for Sophia, it was just a guest room. Sneaking into each other's rooms at night was exciting, but on the battlefield, she and Ethan had taken their pleasure wherever they could, even amidst the carnage of a freshly fought battle.
Surrounded by corpses, friend and foe all mingled in a bloody tableau, she'd strip off her armor amidst the chaos, face Ethan's heavy breathing and hungry gaze, present herself like a feast, then lie down on the dusty ground, spreading her legs.
"Ethan, take me. Fill me up," Sophia seduced Ethan, who pounced on her like a beast in heat, biting her neck, devouring every inch of her like they were conquering new lands.
'He's married? Who cares?' she thought now. 'He still fucks me. We've left our mark on every battlefield. Even at the city gate, we kissed deliberately, flaunting ourselves for the gawking onlookers and whoever was in that carriage. We didn't expect our lust to overwhelm us so quickly, driving us to tear at each other's clothes before even stumbling through the greenhouse door.'
Thinking of this, she raised her hips more wantonly to meet Ethan behind her, turning her head for another wet, deep kiss.
But when Sophia turned her head, she locked eyes with the people outside, their faces a mix of shock and varied expressions.
Naked, exposed, and impaled, Sophia's mind went blank. Her body, stimulated, convulsed, and she climaxed right under everyone's gaze!
When she came to, she tiredly raised her hand to grasp Ethan's wrist and reminded him, "Darling, there are people watching outside."
Ethan, still unsatisfied, turned his head in annoyance and complained, "Who the hell…"
He quickly fell silent.
The familiar faces outside the glass window were all his relatives, and in the middle of the crowd, with a gloomy face, was his mother.
Ethan became anxious but still tried to shield Sophia from their view with his body.
Mia was trembling with anger, especially when she saw that Sophia, instead of covering up, had climaxed under everyone's gaze. It was simply...
Mia wanted to scream that Sophia was worse than a common whore, but this was the woman Ethan was going to marry, the first female knight captain of the Soth Empire. If she married into the Martinez Family, it would bring significant benefits to both Ethan and the family. But Sophia's brazenness was beyond anything Mia could control, even with her status as Ethan's mother.
Mia's anger surged, causing a pain in her chest, and she fainted on the spot.
Ethan was frantic. Not only had their lovemaking been witnessed, but his mother had fainted from the shock. If word got out, his marriage request might be denied.
Thinking of this, Ethan hurriedly withdrew from Sophia's body. He didn't even have time to help his beloved woman, hastily putting on his pants and shirt as he rushed to the door and shouted, "Mother!"
Behind him, Sophia frowned, her eyes locking with Ava's in the chaotic crowd.
"Jealous?" Sophia mouthed silently.
Ava stared coldly at the naked woman inside, not understanding where her smugness came from.
This brief showdown went unnoticed by anyone else.
The whole mess only calmed down when Dr. Pascal showed up to check on Mia. Ethan let out a sigh of relief and warned everyone around, "For the sake of the Martinez Family's reputation, this never happened. Understood?"
Hearing this, Olivia rolled her eyes and thought, 'If you really cared about the family's reputation, why declare your intention to marry Sophia in front of everyone? After three years away, the first thing you do is sneak off for a quickie. Give me a break.'
The others probably had similar sentiments, but respect for Ethan's military achievements kept them silent. They nodded and dispersed.
After scolding everyone, Ethan glanced at his still-unconscious mother on the bed. He suddenly remembered he hadn't checked on Sophia after leaving the greenhouse. Worried, he frowned at Ava, who was sitting by the bed with a concerned look, seemingly capable of taking good care of Mia. He said, "I have something to attend to. Please take care of Mother."
Hearing this, Ava looked up, only to see Ethan's coat disappearing through the door. She felt no real sadness, just a mocking smile on her lips.
He was in such a hurry to find Sophia that he left Ava here like she was a maid!
The person on the bed made a faint sound. Ava lowered her head, pretending to be concerned as she took out a handkerchief to wipe Mia's forehead. She said, "Mother, you're awake."
The maids helped Mia sit up and placed a cushion behind her. Seeing Ethan was no longer there, Mia looked a bit disappointed, saying, "Ava, you truly are my good daughter-in-law."
Mia dismissed the maids, who left the room after a glance at Ava. Once alone, Mia sighed dramatically, "You saw what happened today. What a disgrace..."
Ava's expression remained unchanged and she asked, "Mother, do you dislike Sophia?"
Mia was speechless.
To say she liked Sophia would be a lie, but having the power and status of a knight captain would elevate the Martinez Family, despite any criticism. Mia didn't like someone leading Ethan astray, but she had enjoyed the glory he brought for so long that she knew she preferred the benefits of status.
"My feelings are irrelevant," Mia said. "What matters is that Ethan loves her."
"I'm old, and my words don't carry weight. As his wife, you should understand his hardships in battle. Besides, Sophia doesn't seem the type to settle down. The Martinez household still needs you to manage it."
Ava knew what Mia was thinking. She retorted, "But from the king down to the commoners, a man can only have one wife, isn't that right?"
Ava, who had always been gentle and understanding, didn't agree this time. Mia felt that Ethan marrying Ava had been a mistake, and her face turned angry. She said, "As long as the king agrees, exceptions can be made. This matter isn't up for your approval. You are just a woman. You may be the lady of this house, but don't forget, this place belongs to the honorable Captain of the Dawn Knights, Ethan, and the Martinez Family!"
Mia added, "I let you manage the family's affairs for three years, and you did well, but you haven't had a child or made any significant contributions. How can you expect my son to remain faithful for three years?"
Realizing she might have gone too far, Mia softened her tone, trying to maintain her composure. "But since Ethan is…like this, I won't demand your fidelity either. Nobles are rarely bound to a single partner for life.""
