TRESPASSER

XANDER

Rumors have already circulated throughout the pack about the trespasser who has yet to be brought to the royal pack house.

Though I feign pretense, I don’t fail to notice the side talks about the trespasser being a spy and all but I can’t remember the guards confirming that she is a spy.

One of the guards had reported the issue to me last night and normally, I will tell them to kill the trespasser without bothering to see them but I think it’s time I start questioning these trespassers. Just three months ago, we had about two unknown men trying to kidnap our omegas only to find out they were not from this pack and they had sneaked their way in. I need to know if this is also one of them, the further I know, the easier it is to kill the root cause of all these.

“Alpha Xander, they have brought the trespasser” My Beta, Cassius informs me. I nod, a silent instruction to bring her in. I’ve been anticipating meeting this trespasser all night. I need to find out why they keep coming. Who is sending them here? What is their purpose? And if she can’t provide me an answer? I certainly am ready to torture the truth from her. Today I will find out who wants to ruin my pack.

The smell of peach begins to fill my nostrils, a strong intoxicating scent, I’ve never smelt before. It’s not just an ordinary scent, it’s going into my system and causing me to feel weird. It’s like I’m attracted to this scent.

Curiosity spikes within me as I can no longer sit and wait for this scent to come to me. My wolf stirs restlessly within me as I scan the familiar halls of the pack house. The space feels eerily empty—until two guards step into the room, escorting a female between them. Her hands are bound behind her back, and her head hangs low, avoiding my gaze. However, the minute she passes the door, she lifts her gaze to meet mine and it feels like time has slowed down. It feels like we are the only ones standing before each other as the world fades away.

My mind is struggling to process these unexpected feelings I’m having; racing heart, butterflies in my stomach, the electric current running through me. It’s as if this trespasser has awakened something within me. And I’m certain we both feel the same, given the way her eyes are now widened, her lips parted as she looks shocked.

It’s clear what the situation is right now even though neither of us dares to voice it out but it’s clear we are mates. This trespasser in front of me is the one fated for me by the goddess.

I want to throw my gaze away, but her ocean-blue eyes are keeping stock, I don’t want to move my gaze from her.

“Sir what should we do with her” A guard asks.

“Let her go” I blurt. My mind goes blank, and the only thing I can focus on is the blonde hair and ocean-blue eyes staring back at me.

I watch as she falls to her knees and she’s the first to break our eye contact as she drops her gaze to the floor.

My senses begin to return, she’s a trespasser, and I have a fiancée already, I shouldn’t be feeling this way for this woman, but then I’m not certain I can control the emotion stirring within me.

“Leave us alone” I command and even though the guards stare at each other with uncertainty, they oblige not daring to question my command.

“I-I didn’t mean to come here, it just happened” She stutters and I can hear her cry, her sniffles despite her trying to hide her face from me.

I can feel an ache in my chest just by hearing her cry, just by her tiny sniffles, we just met a few minutes ago, and I’m emotionally, mentally, and physically attracted to this angel-looking lady. I swallow hesitating to speak, scared of hurting her more, but then she’s a trespasser, she might be lying right now, she might be here with a purpose can I really accept her like that? But a part of me believes that she isn’t lying.

My mind is a whirlwind of thoughts and all I can do is crouch down to her level and pull out one of my bead bracelets.

“Tie your hair with this,” I say with a soft voice. She lifts her gaze to me, bewilderment painting her face as it seems like she’s contemplating whether to listen or not.

She looks like she has been through a lot already and her hair is playing a major role in assisting her to hide her face from me which I don’t like. I want to see her face more; I want to stare into those enchanting ocean-blue eyes while I speak to her.

She takes the bead and ties her hair up.

“And you are?” I ask, following her gaze as it darts everywhere except toward me as if she’s deliberately avoiding eye contact.

“Cierra” She answers and I can swear the name is just as pretty and innocent as she looks.

“It’s okay if you treat me as a trespasser, it’s okay if you reject me from being your mate…”She begins and my heart aches at her voice and the words she says, she looks so fragile, and from the expression on her face, I can tell she’s been hurt. I just want to pull her into a hug, comfort her, and keep her safe.

“Just please let me go, I will never return here. I can assure you I’m not a spy, just…” She sniffles, her gaze still on the floor.

The problem is no part of me wants to let her go, no part of me wants her hurt. Instead, I want her here with me.

My mind is a mess and for the first time, I’m torn between acting as an Alpha to the Crescent moon pack and acting with my emotions.
