Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate

“Yeah, because the two of you were too weak to take care of yourselves. I know all about how the Alpha cowered in a corner while my father fought four rogues on his own. I know how you cried and pleaded for them not to hurt you while my mother fought two or three of them on her own with no assistance from you. They died for nothing. The least you could have done was made sure their child never felt loneliness or unwanted but you dealt nothing but hatred and pain and had the nerve to try to steal my fortune. Let me tell you this. One way or another, dead or alive, I will get my revenge on all of you for what you’ve done to me. Mark my words.” I say this before pushing past them and walking to leave my room.

The other Alphas being here gave me the courage to do that because I know that they won’t follow me to cause a scene. Once I am downstairs, I head to the kitchen and get myself a plate of food before heading to the garden to eat in peace. I should have known that peace isn’t what I was going to get today.

“Well, if it isn’t the whore that tried to steal my boyfriend.” said Amelia.

“Amelia today isn’t the day to mess with me.” I say to her in a cold voice but she ignores my warning.

“Oh, you woke up with a backbone today. Should I tear it out of you so that you know who you are dealing with?” she says.

“You really do think too highly of yourself. One day someone is going to put you in your place.” I say smirking at her. She really should have listened to my warning. I feel my wolf begin to stir, ready for a fight and my smirk broadens into a full smile.

Alpha Cameron

“Why am I attending this spoiled child’s party again?” I ask my friend and Beta.

“Because you’re an Alpha and are supposed to attend these things for the sake of politics. I know that you don’t want to go so we don’t have to stay the whole weekend. We’ll show up Saturday and leave early Sunday morning instead of getting there Friday with the other Alphas.” He says.

“I don’t see why I can’t just send you to this. I have more important things to do here anyway.” I say grumbling.

“We both know that you have nothing pressing to handle right now. Besides, you may even find your mate at the party.”

“Tell me that isn’t the real reason you want me to go to this thing. I’ve told you countless times that I do not want or need a mate. There isn’t a woman alive that can fight alongside me in battle or handle a pack the size of mine. You and I are doing quite well running things without a Luna. Why change things now?”

“Yes, we are doing well, and the pack loves and respects you, but we need a Luna. The Luna not only strengthens you but the pack as a whole. We are not lacking in strength by any means physically, but the nurturing and loving role of a Luna is missing here.” he says to me.

“I’ve accepted that I don’t have a mate and don’t want one, but if I have to have a Luna, then I’ll just appoint Cassidy. She’s been with me two years and the pack know and like her. No need bringing in some outsider that doesn’t know our ways and will be some love sick fool because of a mate bond. Besides, Cassidy is a strong fighter from having Gamma parents.” He bursts out laughing and I look at him confused.

“The pack knows her alright. They know how she has been on her back for almost every available male she can find. The women hate her and nobody here likes or respects her. We’ve all been waiting and wondering when you were going to quit dealing with her.” I looked up at him from the papers I was currently signing in shock.

“I didn’t know they hated her. They never said anything to me about this.” I said to him.

“Why would they? She’s told them all that you’re going to make her your Luna, plus nobody is going to tell the Alpha of the Black Diamond pack a.k.a. Black Death that they don’t like his girlfriend and risk being punishment.” He says to me in a serious tone.

“I’ve never hurt my own pack and would never hurt them for speaking out. Nonetheless, they will have to deal with it because she will be their Luna, but in name only. She will not have any authority to do anything. Authority is mine and mine alone here. As my Beta, you do wield a certain amount of that authority, but that’s where it ends. Her job will be to tend to the women and children and throw a party every now and then, but otherwise she does nothing.” I said and continued with my paperwork.

“Well, I’ve had some omegas pack a bag for you, and we’ll leave early in the morning. We should get there by 10 o’clock on Saturday morning. The trip will take almost all of tomorrow. Did you want to stop at a hotel or drive through and make it there late tomorrow night? He asked me.

“Stopping would only prolong how long I have to be away. We will drive through and check in at their pack house and hopefully leave on Saturday night once the party dies down. I see no reason to stay longer and have the Alpha of that pack or any of the others swarming me with their proposals of taking their daughter as a chosen mate. My interest in going is political and that is all. They all need me more than I need them.” I said to him.
