Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate

“Trinity, why are you here? You’re never up this early for breakfast.” I ask her even though I know the answer already.

“Cameron, you’re so silly. I’m up because we’re traveling to the Red Dawn pack today. As the Alpha and Luna of Black Diamond, we must form a united front. I don’t want any females thinking they have a shot with my mate since we haven’t marked each other yet.”

“I’m really starting to wonder if you were dropped on your head as a pup. How many times must I tell you that you are not my mate and will be luna in name only. You hold no position here therefore you will not be accompanying me to the Red Dawn pack or anywhere for that matter. Now, I suggest you go have breakfast and then go to training or do whatever it is you usually do at this time.” I move around her and head into the dining hall and sit in my seat for breakfast.

Once I sit down, everyone else begins to eat and so do I. When I finish, I leave instructions with my Gamma and housekeeping staff before heading outside. An omega comes up to me and tells me that she has loaded my bag and Trinity’s in the same car as instructed. Feeling irritated, I walk to the trunk of the SUV and open it before grabbing the two bags Trinity packed and threw them out onto the pavement before turning back to the omega.

“From now on, never listen to anything that woman tells you unless you’ve talked to me first, understood?”

“Y...y..yes Alpha.” She stammers and I immediately feel a little bad.

“I’m not upset with you,” I tell her, and she, gives me a slight smile and a bow before leaving. I run my hand through my hair before opening the back door of the lead SUV and climbing inside.

“Mother?” I mind-link.

“Yes, my son?”

“Can you do me a favor?”

“Anything for my favorite son. What is it?” I chuckled.

“I’m your only son. Can you make sure that Trinity doesn’t get out of line while I’m away? I left Eric in charge, but you know how she can be, and she will listen to you because she believes it’ll get her in good with me.”

“Sure, though I don’t know why you keep her around. I can’t stand that girl and neither does the pack. I don’t know why you don’t just look for your mate, then we won’t have to deal with this...person.” says my mother. She doesn’t curse, but I know what she really wanted to call her nonetheless and that makes me laugh again.

“Mother, we can discuss that further when I get back, but for now, thank you for helping me out. And I’m sure that Eric will be grateful to you as well.”

“You’re welcome, dear, and yes, we will continue this discussion,” she says before cutting the link and I sigh.

“You ready to go Alpha?” asks Talon.

“Yes,” I said to him.

“Another pleasant talk with your mother, I'm guessing,” he says with a smirk.

I didn’t answer him and just lean my head back against the seat. This is going to be a long ride.

At some point, I must have fallen asleep because I woke to the sound of the tires hitting gravel, and it is now dark outside. As I sit up straight, I stretch my legs and arms while I roll my neck hearing my bones crack. Talon is on his phone texting someone, more than likely letting his mate know that we are entering the Red Dawn pack, since mind-links don’t work when we’re this far away from our pack mates.

We reach a huge iron gate with a guard stand and a man steps out as our entourage pulls up to the gate. The two SUVs behind mine are my warriors and their luggage and a few weapons, though we don’t need them. My pack is the most feared in northern America and anyone would be stupid to attack us especially with me here. My wolf is different from others. He’s huge even for an Alpha and that’s saying something, but he is also more vicious and lethal than any others, and that alone keeps people away from me and my pack. There are rumors that I’ve met my mate but killed her the moment she displeased me. Another rumor is that I keep her locked in the dungeon so that I still get the strength of having my mate for my pack without actually having a pack. There are so many from over the years that I can’t even remember them all. One even says that I use my mate as a personal slave and only use her for sex but that I also pass her around to my soldiers. Now, I am a cruel and evil bastard, but even I wouldn’t do that to a woman. Rape is where I draw the line, and I’d never allow that to happen to any woman.

The guard steps up to the window and my driver talks to him and shows them our credentials to be let into the pack grounds. Almost within seconds, the gates open, and we all proceed through to the pack house when my wolf starts to stir and becomes restless again.

“What is it Black?” I asked him as I looked around for any threats. I don’t see or sense anything, but I can feel him on edge.
