Chapter 4:Biological Parents

Naturally, Ava did not object, and the couple named Jane and Jack also accepted. So the group of them went to the hospital. Modern medical technology is very advanced, and whether there is a blood relationship can be known with a single hair.

The result would not come out until the next day. After Ava finished the test, she had no mood to listen to their continuous emotional outbursts. She said a few official words to them perfunctorily and then planned to leave.

Even if they were really her biological parents, it did not mean that she could forgive them for abandoning her at that time.

"Lily, don't go. Stay with your parents for a while longer, Lily..."

"Enough, old woman. Stop shouting. She's already gone." Jack patted Jane, who was still pretending, signaling her to stop.

"You said, will she not be willing to help our son because of her attitude?" Jane said uneasily.

"We are her biological parents. We have never asked her for anything in our lives. This is the only thing. If she doesn't agree, she must agree." Jack looked at Ava's departing figure and gritted his teeth, his tone becoming a little lower.

Little did they know that in a corner, a woman wearing a dark baseball cap was watching everything that had just happened without showing any emotion, and slowly pulled the corners of her mouth into a smile.

Ava left the hospital and only felt a chill down her back. She still had to go to the next place to be a tutor.

During the rush hour after work, the streets were full of people. The huge LED advertising screen showed a handsome male profile.

In the crowded street, she, who was alone, looked even smaller. Ava raised her head slightly, and her eyes naturally met the pair of eyes in the screen.

It was a familiar face that she seemed to have seen somewhere.

"According to reliable news, the second young master of Golden Group, Ryan, returned to China some time ago..."

Almost at the same moment, all the passersby around heard this and looked up one after another.

"Is that the second son of Golden Group?"

"I heard that he is back to inherit the family business."

"Yes, he seems to be only in his twenties. He's so young."

In an instant, the street boiled spontaneously, especially the women. The women in London have always been very gossipy, and the internal lives of the wealthy and powerful families are even the talk of people's leisure time.

It was the man from that day, Ben's uncle.

Ava was in class at school when she suddenly received a call from home. It was her father's anxious voice on the other end, "Ava, your mom fainted!"

How could this be?

Ava's heart clenched. Her mother had always been in relatively good health; how could she suddenly faint without warning?

Despite having classes in the afternoon, Ava rushed back immediately. By then, her mother had already been taken to the hospital.

Her mother had regained consciousness and was lying in bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. Her father was by her bedside, his tear-streaked face still wet, clearly having cried.

"Mom, Dad, what happened? What did the doctor say?"

Upon seeing her, her father sighed and answered evasively, "Your mom had been complaining about headaches... Oh, what a tragedy!"

At that moment, a nurse entered to change the IV bag. Seeing the father too upset to speak clearly, Ava asked the nurse directly, "Nurse, what exactly is wrong with my mom? Is it serious?"

The nurse looked at her and then at the father with listless eyes and said,

"Are you a family member of the patient?"

Ava immediately nodded.

"Pituitary adenoma, but fortunately, it's benign. The doctor suggests scheduling surgery for next week."

The nurse left. Ava gasped, overwhelmed with mixed emotions.

The only consolation was that it wasn't a life-threatening illness. The doctor said that with surgery, it could basically be controlled.

However, the hundreds of thousands of dollars in treatment costs were a challenge for Ava's average family. It wasn't a huge amount, but it represented most of the family's savings. After the surgery, along with the subsequent medication and care costs, it would amount to at least three hundred thousand.

Ava had thirty thousand dollars in her account. Her father had fallen seriously ill the year before last, using up all the family's savings and borrowing from relatives and friends, which was still not fully repaid. How could they gather the remaining funds?

Her father said, "Sell the house."

Upon hearing this, her mother struggled to get up from the bed, "I won't be treated, I'm going home, we can't sell the house, we can't!"

Her father and Ava quickly went over to comfort her, and Ava also said, "Dad, mom is right, we can't sell the house, it was left to us by grandma, it's best not to touch it. I'll think of a way to get the money, you take care of mom first."

Hearing Ava say this, her mother finally caught her breath and said firmly to her father, "Did you hear that? We all disagree, don't think about selling this house."

Ava briefly comforted her mother, left the ward, and sighed heavily.

Where could she find so much money?

Lost in thought, a series of urgent ringtones from her phone interrupted her reverie. Ava came to her senses, took out her phone, and saw the caller ID read "Jane."

Seeing who it was, Ava's expression soured even more; she didn't want to answer the call. After pondering for a moment, she still pressed the answer button.

"Lily, the results are out, you are indeed our daughter!" On the other end of the line, Jane's voice could be described as ecstatic. "Come to us, come quickly!"
