Chapter 6: The Conspiracy of the Jane Couple

Seeing her silence, Jane pressed on aggressively.

Ava finally snapped out of it, considering her current situation, and did not immediately refuse. She rolled her eyes and said, "Let me think about it. Can I have a few days?"

"Of course," Jane's tone was clearly tinged with delight, and she agreed readily. "As long as you are willing to save your brother, mom can promise you anything you want. By the way, your adoptive mother's medical expenses, your father and I will take care of them."

Medical expenses...

Ava's nerves were suddenly pricked, reminded by Jane's words.

Yes, there was her mother's surgery fee. Where could she find so much money? No matter how hard she worked as a tutor or a part-time job, it was impossible to gather it all in just a few days.

She had to admit, Ava was subtly swayed.

For decades, her mother had treated her like a biological daughter, and she had long regarded her mother as her own biological mother. Ava could not stand idly by and watch her mother die.

At this moment, the man on the hospital bed woke up, his eyelids slightly opening, his consciousness still very blurred.

"Max, you're awake!" Jane hurried forward, "How are you feeling, does it still hurt?"

The man's eyes rolled around, and when he caught sight of Ava in the distance, his gaze stopped.

With all his strength, the man's voice was still very faint, "Mom, who is she?"

Jane wiped away a few tears that had somehow found their way into her eyes, forcing a smile as she said to her son, "She's your sister, Lily, she's here to save you, Max, you're saved..."

Upon hearing this, the man shook his head with effort, "No, don't do this for me, she has no obligation to do so."

The man's voice was so soft that Ava, standing at a distance, couldn't hear him at all. She was only thinking about what choice she should make.

Looking at the man in the bed, he looked incredibly weak, and thinking of her mother and father in the hospital suffering over money, Ava was torn.

Unconsciously, Ava stepped forward and finally approached the man's bedside. This time, she saw the man clearly.

He was a man about her age, with a fairly handsome appearance, and it was evident that he was the biological son of Jane and her husband, sharing their features.

The man saw her, forced a smile, and with trembling hands, tried to reach out to her, "Are you Lily?"

Ava sighed heavily and, as if bewitched, nodded her head.

On the other side, Ben had been waiting for Ava impatiently. It was getting late, wasn't today the day Ava the teacher wasn't coming?

" Butler, make another call," Ben instructed from the second floor.

After a while, the butler returned and said, "Young master, the phone is still turned off."

Ben became suspicious. Up until now, Ava had never asked for leave, nor had she been late, let alone been unreachable like today.

Nothing could have happened to Teacher Ava, could it?

Ben had an ominous premonition. Better safe than sorry, after pondering, he told the butler, "Butler, call my uncle."

The butler was somewhat surprised. Although Ethan had said that Ben could directly seek Ryan's help for anything in the future, it might not be appropriate to bother the second young master for such a trivial matter, right?

Ava, after all, was just a tutor. It was no big deal if she didn't come today.

"Call him, Butler!"

Seeing the butler stunned, Ben was about to go downstairs to make the call himself. The butler, seeing this, hurriedly said,

"I'll do it right away."

When the call came, Ryan was playing golf with a few friends. His assistant came over and handed him the phone, "It's from Young Master Ben."

Ryan glanced at the screen, took the phone, and said, "What's up?"

"The young master wants you to help find someone for him."

Ryan put down the phone, his face still indifferent, and expressionlessly said to his assistant,

"Find out where she is for me."

Since Ryan had spoken, his subordinates were naturally efficient and quickly figured out the appearance and characteristics of the woman he mentioned, as well as all her travel today.

According to the surveillance, after she left a certain hospital, she directly appeared in a luxury villa area in the northern part of London, where a couple took her in, and since then, she had not come out.

When Ryan told Ben about this, Ben was not calm and almost blurted out,

"I'm going to find her."

Ryan frowned, "Nonsense."

Ava was locked in the dining room, her phone had long since run out of battery and shut down automatically.

The table was set with some exquisite dishes, under the guise of the Jane couple wanting her to "think clearly."

Her brother, although more reasonable than her own parents, later succumbed to physical weakness and passed out, unable to protect her for long.

Ava realized that if she didn't agree, the Jane couple would not let her leave this villa at all.

Was she really their biological daughter? Perhaps their sudden appearance to claim her was just to save their son.

First, they abandoned her, then illegally detained her, restricted her personal freedom, and forced her to donate bone marrow. Such heartless and cold parents were rare.

The villa was equipped with many medical devices, and without needing to go to the hospital, as long as they invited professional staff, they could complete the examination and determine whether the matching was suitable here.

On the other hand, her mother was still waiting for the money to have surgery...

Ava was increasingly swayed. Could she really be forced to agree to such a heartless demand?

Ava, why are you so miserable?

The dining room door opened, revealing Jane's insidious face,

"How about it, Lily, how is your consideration going?"

Ava ignored her, turning her head away and not looking at her.

Jane was not angry, slapping a document onto the table,

"You should take a good look at this, sign it, and the surgery fee for your adoptive mother will be available immediately."

It turned out that the couple had even prepared a contract. This was a complete transaction from beginning to end, with no trace of family affection left.

Ava's heart suddenly tightened, and she closed her eyes in despair.

Time was passing second by second, and Jane's gaze on her was like a scanner, sweeping her helplessness, struggle, and pain into her eyes.

Ava couldn't stand it anymore, tremblingly reached out to open the document, which specified the amount, three hundred thousand. She gripped the pen, turned it three times, and still signed it.

"That's right," Jane's face showed a satisfied smile, "Lily, you are really a good daughter of your parents. I will let the doctor come over now, and we will match first."

Ava thought in her heart, if it doesn't match, it's still in vain, but Jane's next sentence left her stunned,

"You are twins, the doctor said, the matching rate of twins is one hundred percent, Lily, this time you really saved your brother..."

Jane was about to leave the dining room when an unusual noise came from outside the door, followed by Jack's voice, "Who is it? No one, don't talk nonsense!"

However, a group of people had already broken in.

Jane was greatly surprised and immediately locked the dining room door, turning back to signal Ava not to make any sound.

Ava instinctively wanted to call for help, but suddenly thought of the three hundred thousand on the contract, lost her courage, and held back.

When the police searched the dining room and asked Jane to open the door, Jane said there was no one inside.

"Open it, I don't want to say it a second time," the leading police officer's attitude was very tough.

Jane and Jack looked at each other, really panicked, not daring to open or not to open.

"If you don't open it, we can only force the lock open."

The door was still opened, Ava was pretending to sleep on the dining table, heard a noise, pretended to be awakened, straightened up and yawned, looking at the police who suddenly broke in with confusion.

"Who is this?" the leading police officer asked Jane.

"Is my daughter," Jane replied.

"Are you Ava?" The police turned back and looked at Ava again.

Ava nodded, acknowledged the mother-daughter relationship with Jane, and the police insisted on taking Ava back to the station for further investigation.

Jane and Jack dared not object, could only let the police take Ava away, and when Ava inadvertently looked back, they gave her a heavy look, hinting that she should not talk nonsense.
