We waited behind the tall building in the massive line for an hour to get into this upscale club. Leaning my back against the white wall, I clasp my sweaty hands together as my heart wanted to race out of my chest and wobble away onto the busy street. Taking in a deep breathe, I let it out slowly to calm my nerves. It goes on for a few minutes until Soph notices me hyperventilating.
"Arie, I told you that we can leave right now." She grabbed my hand and squeezed it reassuringly as her eyes sadden for my condition.
"No, I'm fine. You're getting married tomorrow and I don't want to ruin your little bachelorette party."
"You'll seriously not ruin anything. I don't want to be here either. If it wasn't for these two bitches," she whispers and points at her two cousins ahead of us, "I'd be home relaxing before the big day."
I laugh and put my arm around her shoulder, pulling her in. "Why don't you like them?"
"My parents wanted me to marry a man as an arrangement to expand their already big business that I'm bound to take over someday, but I'm marrying Rob, so my mother forced me to have these two hoes as my bridesmaids." She rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at them like a little kid. "I hate them so much. Fucking bitches used to steal my toys and pull my hair when I was little."
I laugh and step forward behind her cousins who were stopped by the red velvety rope. "I still can't believe you're marrying Rob. You literally wanted to kill him two months ago."
"A lot changes in just two months, Arie and he changed too. We are happy and that's all that matters."
"It's a shotgun wedding, Sophie."
Her eyes widen as she literally slaps my mouth. "Shut it. My parents don't know and they won't be too thrilled about it when they find out. These two bitches will snitch on me, so shhhh..." she pretends to zip her mouth and throw the imaginary key away. "Okay?"
"Yes, Queen Soph." I laugh and bow to the highness. She chuckles and side hugs me.
"We'll leave these two hoes and go home whenever you say the word. After what happened last time, I'll be by your side."
I hug her back and settle my heart. "I appreciate it. Thank you, Soph!"
"What are best friends for?" She chuckles and pulls me behind her cousins that were now on the other side of the rope and entering the club without us. "Hopefully they get drunk and pass out so that we can have some peace from their excruciating painful perkiness." I snicker and show my ID to one of the many suited bouncers standing at the entrance of the club. Getting the thumbs up from the man, we both enter through the huge double doors into the dimly lit hallway. One hallway led to the club and the other gave access to the rest of the tall building that rested above.
Stepping into the loud club that showered blue and purple lights upon the people dancing below it, I follow Sophie through the hurdles and luckily reach two empty black leathered high stool by the bar. "This is so much better than the last club. That was literally a melting pot for different kinds of sweat." Sophie pretended to gag and placed her palms on the illuminated counter that changed colors smoothly. Wiping my sweaty fingers on my dress, I fix it to make sure the gun was securely hid before following Sophie's lead.
"Hello, love!" A husky voice that I was way too familiar with whispered in my right ear. My heart flutters as a small smile effortlessly embellishes my face. I turn around and look up at his blue eyes that were smiling as wide as his mouth.
I squeal a little before jumping up and tightly wrapping my arms around his neck. My entire body warms and the uneasiness swims away with all my worries. Burying my face into his neck, I let him sweep me off the ground and cradle my shaky body from side to side. The warmth from his body transferred into mine, calming my frenzy nerves. This night got a whole lot better with him in my arms. I didn't want to let go just yet, I needed another minute of this hug to make up for the week I haven't seen him.
"Did you miss me?" His raspy voice whispers again causing my hair to stand. I pull back and immediately shoot my hands up to my blushing cheeks.
"I thought you were coming tomorrow, right before the wedding."
He removes my hands and chuckles a little. "I couldn't let you attend a club alone. Surprise!"
A little laugh escapes my mouth before I wrap my arms around his well built torso and fall back into a trance. "Thank you," I mumble against his chest as he kisses the top of my head.
"You're welcome, love." He tightens his grip around me but let's go when Sophie clears her throat loudly next to us. Shit! I almost forgot about her.
She crosses her arms and taps her right foot patiently waiting for me to talk ASAP. "Sophie, this is my date to your wedding."
"Easton Smith," Leo lies and shakes Sophie's hand. "It's lovely to meet you Ms. Sophie." He adopts a british accent and sneakily winks at me making me glare at him for a second.
"A British man," Sophie turns to me and grins wide, "how cute!" We all chuckle when her phone begins buzzing. "I have to take this," she looks at Leo and narrows her eyes at him. "Easton, you better not try any funny business with her when I'm gone or else I'll find you and kill you. I'm not kidding." With a smile, she pats his back and drifts away into the restroom.
Leo had the most disgusted look on his face when I look at him. "She's got a mission."
I laugh and pull him down onto Sophie's seat. "What's up with your name and accent?"
"I can't have everyone knowing who I am now." His british was still intact and he smirked at me.
"I see." I roll in my chair and look to my left as I place my elbow on the bar counter to face him. "So, how was the deal?"
"A success as usual. How was your week?" He imitates me and places his right elbow on the counter as his eyes gaze into mine.
"Honestly," I straighten my spine and sit up, removing my arm from the counter, "it was boring. I had nothing to do other than watch Netflix and go dress shopping with Soph."
"Alas!" He sighed dramatically and planted a fake frown on his brows. "The petty things you have to do when I'm not around."
I nudge his arm playfully while he laughs. "Shut up. Asshole!" I couldn't prevent the bark of laugh that escaped me right before a skanky woman interrupted us.
"Hi handsome," her squeaky, annoying voice bled my ears as she placed her slutty hand on Leo's shoulder. "I'm Tracy." Leo narrowed his eyes at her and looked at her hand that she set forth to shake.
"Hi trashy," I speak for Leo and pick her wrist up like a dirty piece of rag and fling it away.
"It's Tracy and what's your problem?" She snarled at me with her alcoholic breath burning my nose.
