Walking down the aisle, my heels played with the white carpet, crushing the delicate white rose petals scattered by the flower girls in the ginormous hall of the mansion. Taking my place by the altar, I wait for Sophie to walk down with her father to marry Rob who fidgeted with his fingers nervously, sweat breaking on his forehead.

I roll my eyes at the man and look away, navigating the room for Leo, but I couldn't spot a suited Italian hottie with the most gorgeous steel blue eyes I've ever drowned in and the most dreamy smile in the middle of all the people seated on the white silk covered chairs. My eyes fall upon Aunt Wendy whose face glowed sitting next to the love of her life. The seat next to Mike was empty for the man I awaited patiently who had been ignoring me all damn day. My brows frown at the disappointment that flushed through me in the form of mild anger. What did I do yesterday to make him ignore me in this manner and hurt me?

The keys on the piano began playing softly as the guests stand up to welcome the beautiful bride that streamed down the aisle with her father walking beside her. Taking her place in front of the minister and handing me her wedding bouquet, she kisses her dad and faces her future husband. I put on a fake smile to conceal the distress in my eyes and enjoy my best friend's big day.

My gaze drifts back to Mike for answers regarding Leo, but he just gave me a slight nod and a measly smile. He didn't come. He never intended to come. Giving up, I tune back into the wedding to hear their vows. Fake smile plastered on my face once again, I look ahead at Soph's long veil and listen to the minister babble on about something I could care less about. The couple begins exchanging rings as I hand Sophie one to put on Rob.

Just when I lose all hope, I notice someone stride in with his head high. My heart flutters as I watch the incredibly and the best suited man in the damn world confidently take a seat next to Mike. A genuine smile began dancing on my face as his eyes meet mine in an apologetic manner. I may be happy right now, but he'll still hear it for being late.

He bats his lashes at me as he pretends to stab himself in the chest implying the agony he's going through sitting at this wedding. Biting the inside of my cheek, I try to refrain myself from laughing out loud and disrupting the ceremony. I look away just when the newly married couple shares a passionate kiss, gaining cheers from the crowd.

"Congratulations!" I exclaim and hug Soph before the couple exits the room. People begin following them down to the field behind the mansion for the reception.

After signing the marriage license as one of the witnesses to the wedding, I make my way out of the mansion and to the back, descending down the concrete stairs that had roses decorating the stone railings. The sun painted the sky beautifully as it began vanishing on the horizon, providing the marvelous scenery for all who seated themselves at the round tables scattered throughout the immense field of perfectly manicured grass under the humongous white tent.

Spotting Mike and Aunt Wendy sitting on a table close to the stairs, my feet drives me to them. I take a seat to the left of her and smile at the two lovebirds who didn't acknowledge my presence as they were too busy drowning in each other. Huge smiles embellished their faces as their eyes twinkled, taking in one another's beauty. Their happiness and love spilled all over, filling me with immense joy just by looking at them. My eyes begin to well up while my heart danced around with delight. She has finally found the one; the one I can trust her entire life with. Seeing her alone for all those years saddened me, but I guess the wait was definitely worth it for her.

Blinking the tears away, I look around for the man I feel the same for. I notice him conversing with Zachariah, Soph's father with his hands in his black pant pockets looking as dashing as ever. His back muscles outlined perfectly through that thin suit and his ass... Oh God! His round prefect ass makes me want to reach forward and grab it. Calm down, Arie. Control your hormones. Only if I could.

"Mermaid?" Aunt Wendy pulled me out of my beautiful daze and jerked me violently.

"Yeah?" I rip my hungry eyes away from the godly man and place it on the grinning burger factory and her fresh, new BLT sandwich named Mike.

"Quit undressing him with your eyes now. Calm your titties." She laughed out.

"Oh, shut up!" I quite down their snickering and roll my eyes. "How long has he been there?"

"A few minutes now," Aunt Wendy replied while taking a swig of her red wine.

"Leo knows Mr. D'Angelo," Mike chimed in with his palms flat against the white cotton cloth on the table. "They have done business before."

My eyes narrow a little on Mike as I hesitate to ask whether the business was legal or illegal. It definitely has to be legal. Sophie D'Angelo, the crazy and the most outrageous person that I know can't be in the Mafia world. She literally cries watching cartoons, she can't be a part of them.

My thoughts are interrupted when the DJ announces the arrival of the newlywed couple to the floor for their first dance. Kiss me by Ed Sheeran began playing and surfing through my body and the guests. The applauses ceased as they got to the dance floor and began swaying to the beautiful song.

"Hello, love!" His voice breathes out into my ear, causing chills to cascade down my spine. I reluctantly rotate in my seat and fall into those magnetic eyes immediately. Help me, God! "Sorry, I was late. How are you feeling?"

"That's the only thing you feel the need to apologize for?" I paste a disappointed look on my face and narrow my eyes at the man who tilted his head and looked at me amusingly.

"What else is there to apologize for?" He asks and reaches his hand out for my glass, taking a sip of my sprite. I knit my brows and open my mouth feigning shock as I swat his hand, but he just chuckled and held onto the glass for dear life.

I roll my eyes as a laugh escapes my lips. "I don't know, maybe about the fact that you didn't reply to my texts or even bothered picking up my calls. Does that sound accurate?"

He lightly puts the glass down and scoots his chair closer to me to where I could feel the heat radiating off of him. Gripping my chair, he pulls me even more closer as my eyes widen while he intertwines our hands together like a prefect puzzle. "I'm sorry for that, love. I just had a lot to take care of today." My breath lodged in my esophagus, unable to creak itself out by any means due to the proximity and the mere centimeters between us. A smug smile began to creep up on Leo's face as his eyes sparkled mischievously. How does he manage to always do that?

I rip my eyes away and turn around when I hear a chair squeak around our table. Mike was on his knee in front of Aunt Wendy with his hand out awaiting her. "Ms. Wendy Clark," he started with a massive, gorgeous smile on his face like a little boy asking his crush out on a date. "Would you be generous enough to bestow the honor of a dance upon me, my lady?"

"Gladly!" Aunt Wendy laughed and placed her hand in his while pressing her lips against him. "I'd love to." His grin grew larger as he escorted her to the dance floor and began moving to the music. Other couples followed their lead as they made their way to dance.

"That was too cheesy for even Mike," Leo scoffed behind me.

"Oh, shut up." I playfully slap his hand that laid on my thigh. He immediately removed it as he shifted a little in his seat. "It was absolutely adorable. You're cheesy too, Mr. Pepperoni."

He laughed and intently gazed into my eyes. "If I'm correct, you love cheese."

"You got that right," I smile back at him as I lay my elbow on the table and look back at the gorgeous man.

"And you also love garlic breads?" His smirk grows wider.

"Like, not love." I retort back with confidence.

"That's not what you said yesterday." He leaned forward and tapped my nose. "You wanted to taste my garlic bread if I'm correct." My eyes were ready to pop out of my head while heat rushed up to my already blushing cheeks. He slanted back into his seat to give me room to contemplate.
