Chapter 4 The Second Plan

Aria Davis's POV:

When Oliver announced that Noah had invited me to the banquet as his companion, I knew I was one step closer to getting my revenge.

At the banquet, I stood next to Noah in the fancy dress Oliver had picked out for me.

Noah took my hand and looped it through his arm. I frowned and subtly pulled my hand away.

"Master Noah, I'm just a slave. I shouldn't be here as your date," I said coldly, stepping aside to put some distance between us.

Noah looked annoyed and grabbed my hand again. "I don't care about your status. You're my date tonight, and that's that."

I sighed, softening my tone a bit. "Master Noah, I'll play along tonight, but after this, please don't contact me again. Pretend you never met me."

"I don't get why you always push me away," Noah whispered, smiling politely at the guests who greeted him.

I sneered inwardly, 'Because you guys only value what you can't easily have. Once you get it, you lose interest.'

Feigning sadness, I murmured, "I am just a humble slave girl, while you are the future Alpha. I am not worthy to stand by your side."

Noah didn't respond, holding my hand tightly as we walked toward the center of the banquet hall, chatting and laughing with the elegantly dressed guests.

While mingling with the guests, I discreetly observed everyone at the banquet.

I never put all my hopes on one person. Although Noah was my best chance to get close to Jason, I needed to ensure I had the means to eliminate Jason once I got close!

Right now, I didn't have the power to confront Jason, so I needed to find someone else who could help me. This was one of the reasons I attended this banquet.

I carefully observed everyone at the banquet. The fools who squandered their family's money and those who only loved wine and women were of no help to me.

Then I noticed a man sitting in a dark corner. He was wearing a well-tailored suit, his golden hair neatly combed, and his deep brown eyes were cold and unapproachable. No one dared to approach him. I bet he had impressive biceps and chest muscles under that suit. He seemed like a good choice.

But I wasn't sure if he could help me. I needed to find out more about him.

Luck was on my side. Soon, I overheard some elegantly dressed ladies talking about him.

"Who is he? Why is he sitting there alone?" one of the ladies whispered, curious.

Her friend quickly hushed her, her voice trembling with a mix of awe and fear, "Keep your voice down! Don't point at him! That's Lucien Blackwood!"

"What? He's the Vampire King!" the first lady gasped, her eyes wide. "Thank goodness I didn't go over to chat him up," she muttered, relieved.

Great, he turned out to be the Vampire King, Lucien.

A few years ago, I had heard of his legend. Lucien was the youngest King among the vampires and the most powerful. So he definitely had the ability to help me kill Jason.

Even better, the vampire clan had a centuries-old feud with the SilverBlade Pack. Their wars had never stopped.

Getting close to Lucien would be my second plan for avenging Emma. But first, I had to get rid of Noah.

My mind was racing. Then I got an idea.

"Master Noah, your tie is crooked. Let me fix it for you," I said, holding a glass of red wine in one hand. I reached out with the other, pretending to adjust his tie while secretly planning to spill the wine.

"Aria, you're too far away. It will be difficult to fix from there. Come closer," Noah said, his voice smooth and inviting.

Before I could react, Noah's hand slipped around my waist, pulling me gently but firmly into his arms.

Seizing the opportunity, I immediately spilled the wine. The wine quickly stained his exquisite suit. I deliberately widened my eyes and immediately used my sleeve to wipe the wine stain.

"Master Noah, I'm sorry! Please forgive my carelessness," I said anxiously, kept wiping. The wine stain spread as I attempted to wipe it away, only making it worse.

Noah sighed, his expression a mix of frustration and resignation, "Stop wiping. I'll go change."

I nodded, my voice tinged with genuine remorse. "I'm really sorry, Master Noah."

Watching Noah's departing figure, I secretly breathed a sigh of relief. There was a changing room upstairs, so Noah wouldn't be gone for long. I had to act quickly.

Taking a deep breath to compose myself, I walked toward Lucien.

Putting on an anxious expression, I approached Lucien and called out, "Hey sir, you dropped something."

Lucien looked at me in confusion, frowning slightly, his eyes full of caution. I smiled mysteriously and bent down, pretending to scoop up a handful of air from the ground. Then, I extended my hand, holding the imaginary object, toward his chest.

Lucien's eyes narrowed as he grabbed my wrist with surprising strength, nearly crushing my bones. "What are you trying to do?" he asked coldly, his voice dripping with suspicion.

I gritted my teeth against the pain, using my other hand to move his hand away, then gently placed my hand on his chest and blew on it.

Lucien's body stiffened, his chest muscles tensing.

I pretended to breathe a sigh of relief and smiled warmly. "You lost your happiness and smile. I picked them up and put them back in your heart."

Lucien's pupils contracted slightly, clearly surprised. He hadn't expected that at this banquet, where everyone feared him and avoided him, I would dare to approach him.

Seeing his surprised expression, I flashed a bright smile. "Take good care of your smile and happiness. Don't lose them again!"

Lucien instinctively covered his chest, repeating my words, "Smile and happiness?"

Then, I boldly used my fingers to lift the corners of Lucien's mouth. His body trembled slightly, the shock in his eyes more evident.

Ignoring his reaction, I put a piece of candy in his mouth. Then, I pretended to be satisfied with his expression, grinning, "With candy, your smile is even sweeter."

Honestly, his smile was stiff and a bit funny. Lucien hadn't reacted yet, with the candy in his mouth.

I continued to praise him with a smile, "See, you look so charming when you smile. Don't keep a cold face; you'll scare away all the pretty girls."

Lucien seemed a bit at a loss, frowning and staring at me without any other reaction.

This was exactly the effect I wanted. If I gave him a chance to speak, he would probably reject my every move, so I couldn't let that happen.

I continued, "Enjoying beautiful scenery can make all the bad feelings disappear. How about accompanying me to the countryside tomorrow?"

Seeing Lucien about to speak, I quickly pressed my finger to his lips and whispered, "You don't need to speak. I know you'll agree!"

I could feel his body stiffen again under my touch. I smirked inside, 'See, men are all the same. As long as I put in a little effort, they will definitely take the bait.'

"See you tomorrow, sir!" I smiled and turned to leave.

By now, Noah should have finished changing his clothes.
