Chapter 4

Leon looked at his classmates. Most of the female classmates were quite average-looking, with the most beautiful being Liana.

Today, Liana was dressed quite provocatively, showing off her beautiful curves, making all the guys present very excited.

Harold was instantly attracted to Liana and said with a smile. "Liana, long time no see. You're still so beautiful. Where are you working now?"

Liana smiled and said, "Far behind you. I heard you came in a Mercedes. That's impressive."

Before Harold could answer, another girl spoke up, "Harold, you probably don't know this, but Liana works at Corleone Investment Bank. I heard she's about to become the general manager."

"Oh my God, Liana, that's amazing!" Harold flattered.

The classmates were all shocked because Corleone Investment Bank was a very powerful company that offered a decent salary. The fact that Liana was about to become the general manager was truly impressive.

Leon was also a bit surprised, not expecting Liana to become his employee.

He smiled and said, "Liana, congratulations."

Liana looked Leon up and down and said, "Leon, why is your suit so big? Is this suit really yours?"

Hearing Liana, everyone noticed that Leon's suit was indeed a bit large. Although his clothes and pants were expensive, he was wearing a pair of worn-out shoes with his toes sticking out, looking like a homeless person.

Embarrassed, Leon smiled awkwardly and scratched his head.

"Liana, I actually noticed it earlier, but I didn't plan to point it out. Since you brought it up, let me tell everyone about Leon's real situation," Harold suddenly said.

He showed a mocking smile and said, "As far as I know, Leon has been living with the Herman Family for the past few years and has always been looked down upon by them. He's a loser, so let's not talk about him anymore."

Just as Leon was about to retort, a female classmate, Ellie Kelly, frowned and said loudly, "Please be quiet and stop discussing this. Leon is our classmate, and we shouldn't make fun of him."

Leon and Ellie were quite close during school, so Ellie spoke up couldn't stand by.

At this moment, Leon's phone rang in his pocket.

When he answered, Samara's angry voice immediately came through. "Damn it, Leon, where are you? Hurry back to wipe the floor, you fucking bum!"

Samara's loud voice was heard by the other classmates as well.

"Wiping the floor? Leon, you really are pitiful," someone said deliberately.

"He's truly a loser. His status in the Herman Family is probably worse than a dog's."

Harold glanced at Leon and then smiled at Liana, saying, "Liana, the owner of this hotel is a friend of my brother. You probably know my brother's name; he's Steve, the president of Corleone Investment Bank. This hotel has some rare fine wines that are not sold to regular customers. But through Steve's connections, I can have the hotel bring those fine wines for us to taste. How about it, are you interested?"

"Sure, Harold, we're interested. Hurry up and have the hotel bring the wine," the other classmates said eagerly.

Harold snapped his fingers, and a waiter approached.

Harold said proudly, "Bring two bottles of the hotel's best red wine."

The waiter hesitated and said, "Sir, do you mean the most expensive red wine in our hotel? It's not that I don't want to, but..."

Harold understood what the waiter meant and said coldly, "Do you think I'm poor? My brother is Steve, a friend of your boss. Stop talking nonsense and bring your best wine."

Seeing Liana's surprised expression, Harold felt very satisfied. He believed his performance was enough to win Liana's affection.

Leon was a bit surprised; he didn't know before that Harold and Steve were actually cousins. These two really have similar personalities, so Leon sneered and continued to enjoy Harold's ridiculous antics.

After a while, two bottles of the finest red wine were brought over.

Harold raised his glass and, seeing that Leon hadn't left, said, "Leon, why are you still here? Your status seems to not fit here, and you don't deserve to enjoy the best red wine."

Leon didn't want to talk to Harold anymore and instead turned to Ellie. "Ellie, shall you go with me? Staying here might cause trouble later."

"I..." Ellie hesitated.

Seeing that Leon actually wanted to take Ellie away, Harold became even more furious. "Leon, Ellie won't go with you. You pathetic loser, being with you makes us feel ashamed."

"That's right, Leon, hurry up and leave. Don't affect others." Some classmates, trying to please Harold, mocked Leon unceremoniously.

Leon frowned. If it weren't for Ellie, he would have left directly and wouldn't be wasting time here.

Seeing Leon standing still, Harold sneered and decided to deliver a fatal blow to Leon's self-esteem.

He then waved a beautifully patterned credit card in front of Leon and said, "Leon, do you know what this is? This kind of credit card is something you'll never have in your lifetime."

The classmates all looked at the credit card and were shocked.

This was a VIP credit card that only high-end clients could possess, and to have this kind of card, assets must be at least a million dollars!

This meant that Harold's credit card had at least a million dollars.

Seeing Liana looking at him with great admiration, Harold said proudly, "Classmates, this meal is on me, except for Leon's share; he has to pay for himself. Waiter, bring the bill."

Ellie and the others looked at Leon with sympathetic eyes, thinking that Leon should have left earlier so he wouldn't be ridiculed.

This meal would cost at least $10,000, and Leon's share would be at least $1,000. Could Leon afford the bill?

Ellie bit her lip and thought for a moment, deciding to help Leon pay the bill later to save him from being embarrassed in front of everyone.

But at this moment, the waiter brought a middle-aged man into the banquet hall and said, "Sir, your credit card balance is insufficient."

Harold was incredulous and angrily said, "Are you kidding me? I have $1 million on this card, and you say it's insufficient to pay?"

"Yes, sir, because you ordered the two most expensive bottles of red wine, the total bill is $1.9 million," the manager explained.

When the hotel manager stated the price, Leon burst into laughter.

Harold had acted too arrogantly; he didn't even know how expensive those two bottles of wine were.

Hearing this shocking price, Harold was extremely surprised and said, "How is that possible? How could we spend so much money? I want to see the hotel manager; you must explain this to me."

The middle-aged man behind the waiter stepped forward calmly and said, "Sir, I am the hotel manager. Do you have any questions?"

Harold gritted his teeth and said, "How could this meal be so expensive? You must be doing this on purpose! My brother is Steve. If my cousin finds out about this today, he will be very angry and won't let you off."

The hotel manager said calmly, "Sir, the two bottles of Romanee-Conti Wine 1945 you just ordered are priced at $900,000 each, totaling $1.8 million. Including other dishes, tips, sales tax, etc., we are only charging $1.9 million, which is already a discount for you."

"Scammers!" Harold grabbed the hotel manager's sleeve angrily and said, "How could I afford such expensive red wine? I will call the police."

The hotel manager was also a bit angry. He had dealt with many big shots before, but it was his first time encountering someone like Harold, who loved to show off despite having no money.

As a result, the hotel manager said in a cold tone. "Sir, you were the one who asked for the most expensive red wine in our establishment, and the waiter brought it to you. You didn't ask for the price, and we have it all on video. If you want to call the police, suit yourself."
