Chapter 1

Sunshine City, Bell Estate.

It was late, but the mansion was lit up like a Christmas tree.

Louis Windsor had his hands on a pair of sexy, bare ankles, slowly moving up from the calves to the abdomen, savoring every inch of smooth skin.

The owner of those gorgeous legs was lying on the sofa, holding a tablet. As Louis's hands roamed, her face turned a deep shade of red.

After three years of marriage, this was the first time Louis had ever touched Anna Brown's delicate body.

Anna's sun-kissed skin glistened under the lights. Even the slightest touch revealed a perfect, silky texture.

She was wearing a pink short nightdress that hugged her curves. Beneath her plump hips, the outline of a thong was just barely visible.

"Louis, where do you think your hands are going? I've had enough of you!"

Her brown wavy hair cascaded over her shoulders, her full chest rising and falling under the nightdress. Her long legs were crossed, slender high heels scattered on the floor, and a white thong tightly wrapped around her private area.

Noticing Louis's wandering hands and gaze, she was furious.

She'd been under a lot of work stress lately, and now her "nominal" husband was taking advantage of her. She had only wanted a relaxing massage, but Louis's actions were crossing the line, making her nerves tighten.

Louis looked innocent, "Didn't you ask for a spa treatment? Why are you mad now?"

"Louis, even though we're married in name, we can't have a real relationship. Don't push it!"

Anna's cold eyes flashed with anger. She had been engrossed in some obscure medical information on her tablet, but Louis's actions made her instantly disgusted with him.

He actually wanted to move his hand to her inner thigh, a forbidden area for Louis.

Even though they were married in name, Anna had no feelings for Louis.

Now Louis was trying to assault her without her consent while she was focused on reading.

She could tolerate her husband if he kept himself in check. But this was off the table.

Hearing this, Louis lowered his eyes pulled his hands back from her calf.

"What? Do you have a problem with what I said?" Anna snapped.

"A grown man, lazing around at home all day living off my support, and still having such dirty thoughts. Don't you feel ashamed?" she added.

Anna adjusted the hem of her skirt, her eyes full of suspicion.

"I was just curious about what you were reading and got a bit distracted. You might have misunderstood me." Facing Anna's cold expression, Louis calmly explained.

"You don't even have a job, and you think you know about medicine?" Anna frowned, clearly annoyed.

She knew very well that Louis used to be a part-time masseur. How could he understand medical books?

She was a medical doctor from a prestigious university. On top of that, she was young, beautiful, and had a stunning figure. Many high-ranking officials in the hospital had pursued her for years. They had money and fame. Anna couldn't understand why her grandfather arranged for her to marry a man like Louis before he passed away.

Fortunately, she hadn't let Louis take advantage of her body over the years.

Thinking about it, Anna felt a surge of indignation.

"When I get some free time, let's end this for good!"

Putting down the old book and tablet, Anna rubbed her eyes, feeling exhausted. She had completely lost patience with Louis.

"What? Don't tell me you disagree." Seeing Louis just standing there, Anna said coldly.

"I was genuinely trying to help you."

"You mean you were trying to solve my problems?" Anna laughed, picking up the high heels on the floor and slipping them on, crossing her legs. "Then tell me, what book was I reading?"

"The ancient book you were reading is a mysterious classical medical text. The content is incomplete. Although you tried to find related information online, there are gaps, and you can't find the answers you want."

"So what?"

Anna was indifferent to his words. She had indeed been researching a difficult medical problem these days, and living in the same house, Louis must have noticed. It wasn't hard to guess with a bit of thought.

Louis continued, "If I'm not mistaken, you have a patient who has lost the ability to reproduce, and it's a male. Current medical methods probably can't restore him."

"So what?"

Anna's cold eyes fell on him again as she found the interest in hearing what tricks he had up his sleeve.

"Actually, the direction of the book you're reading is correct. It does record treatments for severe external injuries but doesn't detail the suture techniques for male genitalia, so you can't advance further in theory."

Louis continued, "This part of the content was a secret recipe only enjoyed by ancient emperors. To strengthen the empire's rule, the author deleted this secret recipe, so the book you're reading is an abridged version."

"If it's an abridged version, how do you know? Have you read it? I get it, you're making up stories!"

Anna stared at Louis, confident that she had seen right through his tricks, and said with more disgust, "You disrespect not only women but also knowledge. A true healer has a compassionate heart. Who would deliberately delete medical knowledge? You're really hopeless."

She organized her books. It was late, and she didn't want to waste more time on Louis.

Louis shook his head and smiled bitterly. It seemed that if he didn't explain clearly this time, the misunderstanding between them would deepen.

He paused and continued, "Healing external injuries is not enough, unable to make the organ function normally. In medical terms, it means the nerve fibers inside aren't sutured together. You know the reason, but current medical conditions can't achieve it. At this time, a special suture technique is needed. I bet you don't have the guts to try while not knowing the specific steps, so you're stuck."

He smiled and added, "The method is simple. After suturing with a needle, use a special method to stimulate sensitivity. Try several times. When those micro-wounds heal and new cells grow and combine, there will naturally be a response."

She snorted and chuckled, "Obviously, what you said contradicts modern medicine. I can't believe your nonsense."

What nonsense special method, without any scientific basis!

"I've told you the method. Whether you believe it or not is up to you."

Louis shook his head helplessly. He actually knew a lot about medical practices from all over the world. It was all closely tied to his unique background.

Because of his special status, he had to keep a low profile.

Watching Anna walk into the bedroom, Louis's eyes softened.

Even though he'd been crashing on the sofa for the past three years, he didn't mind. In his previous life, Anna had died protecting him.

In this life, Louis had gone through hell and high water to find her. Now, it was his turn to do something for her.

The next day, at the top medical center in Sunshine City.

In the VIP ward, there was a commotion. A middle-aged man was throwing a fit, with medicine bottles and syringes scattered all over the floor.

"Everyone in this hospital is useless! I paid a million dollars, and you can't even fix this little problem of mine! Get your director in here!"

The man's roar scared the nurses outside the door, leaving them at a loss. They all seemed terrified of his bad temper.

This guy was a local tycoon who owned a dozen chain supermarkets. He'd been in a car accident, and while his life was saved, he was left with a disability.

His genitalia could no longer function as it used to.

A group of doctors in the conference room watched the surveillance footage from the ward in silence.

If they could cure the patient, there would be plenty of bonuses and accolades.

But if the treatment failed, they would become the target of public criticism.

No one wanted to be the scapegoat!

"Does anyone have any ideas?"

In the conference room, the hospital director, Brandon Robinson, scanned the room, but no one spoke. Everyone who made eye contact with him quickly looked away.

Was the reputation of the central hospital about to be ruined?

He couldn't believe that such a large hospital couldn't find someone capable.

Brandon's gaze fell on the silent Anna. She was usually the most proactive, but today she was unusually quiet.

"Anna, you're one of our hospital's top young talents, and this patient was admitted by you. What are your thoughts?"

Anna felt a bit uneasy, but she suddenly remembered the method Louis had mentioned.

After hesitating for a few seconds, she slowly stood up.

"Mr. Robinson, there might be one last way."

"What way?"

Brandon's expression was stern.

Anna stood up and explained the method she had heard from Louis last night. Everyone was shocked.

"Anna, do you know what you're saying?"

"If there's a medical accident, that'll be on you."

Brandon's face was full of shock and doubt. He couldn't calm down. It was the first time he had heard of such an extreme treatment method.

Even the urology experts in the room couldn't stay silent.

"Anna, you need to think this through. That area can't just be sutured casually."

"And our hospital doesn't have much confidence or research in that method."

"Mr. Robinson, I think this method is very inappropriate. If this surgery fails, it won't just damage Anna's reputation; it will ruin our entire hospital's reputation!"

"Everyone, quiet!" Brandon raised his hand, signaling for silence. He then looked at Anna with a serious expression and asked, "How confident are you in this?"

"Thirty percent."

The room erupted in an uproar.

"Isn't this nonsense?"

"Mr. Robinson, we strongly oppose Anna's treatment plan!"

The conference room was in chaos, with most people against the idea.

"Anna, are you sure about the thirty percent?" Brandon calmed the room, his tone urgent because he had no other options.

"I'm sure." Anna nodded seriously and added, "It's a sensitive stimulation method. Repeatedly, using the principle of cell division and combination, creating micro-wounds to rejuvenate the nerve fibers."

She tried to recall her conversation with Louis the previous night. She had been unable to sleep, reasoning through Louis's words, and found some logic in them.

Brandon frowned and asked, "Can you start the treatment immediately?"

Anna nodded, "I can try."

"This is too reckless." Suddenly, a medical expert stood up, angrily interrupting, "Mr. Robinson, you can't gamble with the patient's life. She hasn't succeeded in previous treatments. Do you still have hope this time?"

"Do you have any other solutions?"

Brandon coldly looked at the expert, who immediately fell silent.

"Since no one objects, let Anna try." Brandon finally made up his mind, mainly because he had no better treatment plan.

Anna stood up again, and Brandon walked over, firmly shaking her hand. "This time, I'm counting on you."

"Mr. Robinson, please rest assured." Anna nodded solemnly.

Brandon sighed inwardly. In these times of dwindling faith, someone had to rise to the occasion.

In the operating room, the patient was re-anesthetized and fell into a deep sleep.

"Anna, the patient has been agitated for several days and is in a very poor mental state, with suicidal tendencies. The patient's family is outside. If his condition can't be cured, he might face a divorce lawsuit and a broken family."

In front of the operating table, Anna's assistant nurse gravely explained the patient's predicament.

They understood that this also concerned the hospital's honor.

"Administer antibiotics to the patient, increase the dosage to prevent any accidents."

"Understood!"

The nurses in the operating room skillfully cooperated, administering medication and injections in one smooth motion.

"Give me the two finest silver needles, and sterilize them first."

Anna's eyes were determined as she took the silver needles handed to her by a nurse. Holding one in each hand, she began to operate with both hands simultaneously, moving with lightning speed like performing magic, leaving the nurses dazzled.

Brandon, along with a group of medical experts, watched everything happening in the operating room through the glass window, feeling their hearts race.

After half an hour, the anesthesia began to wear off, and the patient felt a slight pain, his body twitching slightly.

However, the patient's genitalia still showed no response, and the nurse beside him was getting anxious.

"Anna, it's still not working. What should we do now?"

"Don't panic, there's one last step."

Anna didn't hesitate for a moment and took action again.

Sweat trickled down her face, and even she couldn't understand why she had blindly believed Louis's words. In fact, Anna didn't have much hope. She even found it absurd and laughable to trust the method of an outsider like Louis.

After all, she had never encountered this type of treatment before.

This was a bold attempt, risking her career.

However, just as she was lost in thought, something unexpected happened.
