Chapter 6 Bullying in the Warehouse

Anna's POV

Isaac shot me a look that could freeze hell over. "You're seriously hopeless."

The bar lights were doing their trippy dance, making his already dangerous good looks even more intense.

Isaac had always been the bossy type. Sure, he acted all polite and nice to everyone, but deep down, he was colder than a snowstorm.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled, bowing my head a bit.

Maybe it was because I was apologizing for Danial, but Isaac seemed even more pissed. He shoved his strong, attractive hand against my shoulder, clearly telling me to get out of his way.

I glanced up at him; his eyes were like a kid who just lost his favorite toy.

I couldn't let him take that drink and go after Danial. It'd ruin Danial's rep. So, I grabbed Isaac's hand and tried to drink the cocktail he was holding.

"What the hell are you doing? Is that jerk really worth it?" Isaac snapped, trying to shake me off.

I held on tighter, even though his icy touch made my fear spike.

As we struggled, the dark liquor spilled everywhere, soaking Isaac's sleeve and hand.

"I'm sorry," I stammered, freezing for a second before grabbing a tissue to clean him up.

Isaac just stood there, letting me wipe his hand.

"I really didn't mean it, I'm sorry," I said, my hair brushing his jaw as I looked up in a panic.

He stared into my eyes for a few seconds, his hand lingering on my back like he might pull me into a hug any second.

For some reason, I suddenly remembered the night Isaac held me.

"Isaac," I called his name, my voice coming out softer than I intended. I meant to refuse, but my voice betrayed me.

"Forget it, I'll go change," Isaac said, his tone less icy than usual. He turned and left.

As soon as Isaac was gone, someone yanked my hair hard and dragged me to a warehouse. I was dragged across the floor, unable to stand or fight back. Then, someone dumped a strong, stinky liquor over my head, soaking me from neck to waist. Chunks of ice hit my face, the cold and the pain making my head scream for mercy.

"You bitch, trying to seduce Isaac? Don't you know he's only gonna marry me or a couple of other girls?"

I got slapped twice, the werewolf strength making my ears ring and my forehead bleed from their nails. I opened my eyes, stinging from the liquor, and saw Tina and her posse of guys.

One of her admirers sneered, "Yeah, everyone knows Tina's gonna be Isaac's wife. Anyone hanging with Tina has to tell Isaac."

I was stunned. I'd seen Tina at school, always surrounded by a bunch of guys trying to impress her. Tina loved flaunting her charm but never actually dated anyone, which wasn't unusual for a pretty girl. But I never expected her to have this kind of thing with Isaac.

No wonder Isaac's friends listened to her.

I'd never seen Isaac hanging out with girls on his days off or chatting with them at his place. His calls were almost always business, mostly handled by his secretary. But Isaac and Tina seemed like a perfect match.

"Stay away from Isaac from now on, got it?" Another brown-haired guy stomped on my hand, grinding it under his foot.

The pain was unbearable, and I screamed, my voice tearing through the air, but they just laughed.

"Just teach her a lesson, that's enough," Tina said, frowning as she glanced at me. She tossed a few bills next to my bleeding forehead. "Go to the hospital. Scars aren't good for a girl. Don't be a nuisance anymore."

"Tina, you're too kind. This bitch doesn't deserve it," one of the guys said, as they all surrounded Tina, their figures fading away.

But then, someone came back. It was the brown-haired guy who almost crushed my fingers. He touched me with his disgusting hand. "You're not worthy of Isaac. Let me take care of you. My dad's an Alpha too; I can make you my mistress."

"Let go of me! Help!" I shouted, struggling with all my might, but I was too weak to fight back.

Suddenly, there was a noise behind him, and the brown-haired guy was sent flying.

"Get lost," Nick said, looking down at him like he was trash.

"Yes, Mr. Nick Allen! Sorry for being an eyesore. I'll leave immediately." The brown-haired guy saw it was Nick and practically crawled away.

Nick took off his coat and draped it over my liquor-soaked body.

"I'll take you home. It's my fault today. If I hadn't made Isaac look at that damn drink, none of this would have happened." Nick glanced at me and carried me to the car.

"I might dirty the seat," I said, looking at the luxurious car interior and sighing.

Nick usually chatted with everyone, from maids to gardeners. So, we felt a bit more relaxed around him. The other maids even liked to joke with him.

Nick turned to me, shaking his head helplessly. "It's fine, you'll clean the car anyway. But you really have a stable mindset. Are you even a woman?"

He ruffled the only clean part of my hair, trying to lighten the mood. But I sprang back, putting distance between us. Then I realized I might have overreacted.

I looked at myself in the car mirror. My head felt swollen and heavy, my eyes vacant and dazed.

Nick saw my self-conscious and sad expression, trying to say something but just moving his lips, unable to speak.

Seeing Nick like this made me even sadder for some reason.

The three brothers were the original bullies, and it was inevitable that the bullied would be humiliated more and more. But occasionally, when they were in a good mood, they actually showed me some pity.

I didn't want this pity, so I forced a painful smile and joked with all my strength, "I don't know, but Mr. Allen, you will surely become a successful capitalist."

"Should I have someone else clean the car?" Nick asked seriously, considering it.

"No need. I'll clean it when I get back," I said quickly, clenching my palm.
