Chapter 7 Revenge (Part 1)

Samuel had been waiting for Evelyn for three long years, letting her stay with a clown like Liam, a guy who didn't deserve someone as amazing as Evelyn.

Over those years, she had become more timid, cautious, and her voice had gotten a lot softer.

He wondered if it was a mistake to let her stay with Liam for so long and felt guilty about it. He also hated himself for not bringing her back sooner.

He wanted to get closer to her slowly, hoping to win her back, but he was scared of scaring her off. So, he had to be super careful. Luckily, before he had to make any big moves, Evelyn came back to him on her own.

But now, Evelyn suddenly put down her wine glass, turned around, and said, "Now it's my turn to take the stage."

Samuel stood up too, reached out to tuck a stray hair behind her ear, and adjusted the diamond hairpin on her head. "Don't worry, I'm here," he said.

Evelyn looked at him gratefully. She didn't plan on asking Samuel to help her teach them a lesson, but his words still gave her a lot of reassurance and confidence.

Samuel just needed to give her a chance; the rest was up to her.

Watching Evelyn about to leave his side again, he realized she was still the same proud woman. He made up his mind to help her shine brightly again, to bring back her radiant splendor.

At this moment, the venue was already in chaos. Everyone was curious about the results of the competition.

They were most curious to know which two companies had submitted the same work.

They wanted to find out who the plagiarist was. The place was buzzing like a busy marketplace.

The host on stage couldn't control the scene anymore, his frown deepening until someone ran up to the stage and whispered something in his ear.

The host immediately relaxed, turned, and said loudly to everyone, "Silence. Originally, out of consideration for the committee, we wanted to leave some dignity for the plagiarist. But since everyone is so eager to know, the committee has decided to reveal the two companies and their submitted works."

Liam was super excited and agitated. Confident he wasn't the plagiarist, he immediately shouted, "A plagiarist is nothing but a thief. What dignity or respect does a thief deserve? They should be condemned. Reveal which company it is, and banish them from the perfume market henceforth. Does a plagiarist's company even deserve a place in the perfume industry?"

The host gave him a disdainful look, adjusted his speech, cleared his throat, and announced, "Two companies submitted the same perfume for this competition. In the spirit of fairness and justice, the competition has zero tolerance for plagiarism. The repeated perfume is named 'First Love.'"

With this, Liam and Vivian were both stunned. Vivian immediately said, "What? 'First Love'? 'First Love' is our Liavian Perfumes' entry. I wonder which company submitted the same work."

Everyone looked around, trying to find the other submitter who had also registered "First Love." Then, the host continued, "Indeed, there are two entries in the competition, one from Liavian Perfumes and the other from Neogenito Fragrances."

"Neogenito Fragrances?" The crowd exclaimed, puzzled.

"What company is Neogenito Fragrances? Forgive my ignorance." The crowd asked in confusion.

At that moment, someone in the audience piped up, "Neogenito Fragrances is a subsidiary of Seraphian Group, established just last year."

Only the industry insiders knew this. But being a new company backed by the massive capital of Seraphian Group, it had a strong momentum.

Liam played dumb, keeping a cool demeanor.

Soon, someone in the crowd questioned, "Does Neogenito Fragrances, as a subsidiary of Seraphian Group, need to plagiarize?"

"Impossible, right?"

"Well, you never know. After all, it's a new company and needs a name to boost its reputation in the industry."

"But it wouldn't resort to plagiarism!"

The crowd buzzed with questions.

This suddenly made Liam feel uneasy. He immediately ran up to the stage, grabbed the microphone from the host, and demanded, "Is the person in charge of Neogenito Fragrances here? Why did you plagiarize our Liavian Perfumes' work? Our perfumer worked tirelessly to create 'First Love.' How did you get the formula?"

Vivian also got on stage and said, "Yes, please have the person in charge of Neogenito Fragrances come out and explain. 'First Love' was created by me. I also want to know why there is a copy. How did you get it? The formula for 'First Love' took me over three months to create. How did you get it, Neogenito Fragrances?"

At this moment, the judges had already reached a conclusion. They immediately sent someone to deliver a letter to the host.

The host opened it, his expression stiffening for a moment before returning to calm. He looked at Liam, who was still questioning the person in charge of Neogenito Fragrances on stage.

Neogenito Fragrances' representative, Mason Carter, immediately went on stage, but he didn't say much because he knew that in upper-level confrontations, subordinates should be cautious. He only needed to say the key words at the critical moment.

But at this moment, Liam was furious at Mason, almost ready to hit him. The host immediately stepped forward to stop him, "Mr. Scott, please calm down. This is a competition, and private fights are not allowed. Alright, the committee has given the final verdict, and the result is in my hand."

The host took the microphone from Liam and asked, "You said your company's perfume was developed by your product director, Miss Reed, wasn't it?"

Liam nodded affirmatively, "Of course, Miss Reed is our company's most outstanding perfumer, with a certain reputation in the industry. Several of our company's best-selling perfumes were created by Miss Reed." The host nodded and then looked at Neogenito Fragrances' representative: "Mr. Carter, who is the developer of your company's perfume?"

Mason wiped the sweat from his forehead, looking like it was finally his turn. He said, "The developer of our 'First Love' is also present today. Please allow me the honor of introducing her."

As he extended his arm, a young woman in a white dress slowly appeared from the back of the venue. She walked gracefully to the stage like an elegant white butterfly.

Under the spotlight, she was simply dressed, with minimal adornment except for a diamond hairpin on her head. However, her stunning beauty amazed everyone present.

Liam and Vivian were even more shocked, unable to believe their eyes. Liam's brain hadn't caught up, but his body moved towards her. He said to Evelyn in a whisper, "Evelyn, what are you doing here?"

Evelyn glanced at him indifferently and responded, "I'm here for the same reason you are."
