Chapter Seven
DAMIEN’S POV
“Now you have chased her away. Find a way to bring her back and I don't care how you do it.” I groaned at Damon, who glanced at me with a scowl on his face.
“You need to chill. I know you need her, we need her, but let her heal up from her Ex-mate’s scar that he had imprinted in her heart. Give her some space.” He explained, and it made sense. It was quite surprising to see Damon talk like this. I'm impressed.
I sighed deeply in agreement, “True. Guess our journey has been proven fruitless, Let's go back home. But I miss her already.” I mumbled.
My eyes watched her back till she disappeared. She looked weak, like cattle walking to death.
“Home?” Damon’s voice cut through the thick coat of silence. “I want to teach that man a lesson, one to keep him in check.” He growled with a clenched fist.
I was too focused on watching Eve leave that I didn't seem to notice my brother fuming. His gray orbs had gone dark, his chiseled jawline sharper than before. “You can't just teach an Alpha “a lesson” One would be mad to do that,” I informed him.
A cold smirk broke out on his lips, “Then I am the perfect person,” He said, turning his head to face me. “Join me, brother,” He urged.
I shook my head in disagreement, “What will the pack say? The elders? I can't.”
“Who said it has to be us? What about his little Woman? She would be perfect for the job.” He schemed hard.
“What is your plan?” I asked, suddenly interested in the scheme.
He grinned from ear to ear, “Let's leave here and find a hotel, I need rest.” Damon pulled me by my shoulders towards the exit, as we strode away from the square.
Finding a hotel wasn't hard, with a few $20k bills and a little flirting by Damon. The lady at the receptionist had refused to give us a room, saying it was all occupied, was it because they suspected that we were strangers?
Damon brushed his fingers slightly on her hand holding down a mouse. His action caused her to flinch and draw her attention to him from the computer she was operating.
“Sir—”
“Shh, Sweetheart,” He shushed her seductively. His fingers were now drawing circles on her hand. “What we are asking for, is it too difficult for you to handle?” He asked, his gaze locked on hers. She was lost in his eyes, and she helplessly shook her head frantically. “Well then, give me the keys to each room.” He demanded softly.
With her eyes still on his, she searched for it below her counter and brought them out. “Thank you,” Damon greeted her, he brought her wrist to his lips and kissed it.
Another victim of his hypnosis. How does he manage to get away with this all the time? “Let's go,” He nudged me, playing with the cards in his hands.
We walked to our various rooms in the hotel. My room was beautifully decorated. The window where a marble vase stood filled with different types of flowers, I could see the beautiful view outside the window.
After a long nice rest, my body pumped adrenaline, ready to get to work. Damon came to join me in the room, and we began to draft out our plan.
“What are we going to do?” I asked Damon.
“Kidnap her and teach her a lesson like he did to our mate,” He replied with no emotions. His face was expressionless indicating that he was quite pissed at Eve being assaulted publicly.
“That sounds good, but where can we keep her without anybody finding out?” I asked again.
“The basement?” Damon asked rhetorically. “Or maybe our bedroom,” His lips curved into a cynical smile.
I shook my head in disagreement, “Eww, No. You can have her if you want but don't involve me in your disgusting plan.
And remember, she is the Alpha’s woman. We don't want to go too far. She won't even see our face.”
“Okay, okay. You always ruin the fun but okay. I understand you.” He responded by raising his hand as he beckoned in surrender.
“We leave immediately after the Sunset, to avoid being caught. It would be a shame to capture Lyncans of a prestigious pack, attempting to kidnap another Alpha’s woman.” I explained to Damon and he nodded his head.
As time went back, I grew impatient. The wait had us on edge. I began to rethink our decision but I knew Damon’s mind was set on getting revenge. There was no need for me to fruitlessly convince him.
Finally, after a few minutes more of waiting, the sun began to set on the horizon. Descending into the west. Long shadows stretched through the corners of the world, ready to receive the moonlight.
Mesmerized by the beautiful golden orange sky, I didn't notice Damon calling out to me. My mind had drifted away along with the breeze.
I flinched when a hand landed on my shoulder. “What was that for?!” I snapped.
“Do you have any idea how long I have been calling out to you?” He questioned me like I knew the answer.
I shook off the daze, “Sorry man,” I apologized.
“What's wrong with you man?” Damon asked puzzledly.
“Nothing,” I denied.
“Good. I thought you were already chickening out of the plan.” He said, “Come on, Let's go, it's getting late.” He urged me.
Why do I feel like something will go wrong? A thick ominous aura hung in the air, like a blanket messing with my senses.
We drove off from the hotel after returning the keys and making our way to the pack house. Damon drove recklessly at full speed. We almost had a police van on our tail but he was able to get us out of the trouble.
The packed house came into sight as we drew closer. My heart raced with determination and anticipation. We parked the car at a far distance from the pack house.
We climbed down and made our way into the packhouse discreetly. People were running in different directions, helter-skelter. What was going on?
The packhouse was in disarray and a sudden scream echoed through the hallways. “The Omega has escaped!!”
