"Your name is Vincent William. Right?" The man confirmed it again. Vincent nodded slowly and said yes.
"Excuse me, who are you, Sir?" Vincent asked.
The old man smiled at Vincent. "I've been waiting for you for a long time. Unexpectedly, we met here. All is God's destiny."
Vincent did not understand what the old man was saying to him. "Do you know me, Sir?"
"Come with me, Son! I'll explain it to you in the car," the old man said. Vincent complied. He didn't dare refuse the old man's request.
From his appearance, Vincent could tell right away. If the old man was someone Vincent had known before. However, in this confusing situation, Vincent's mind was in turmoil. He couldn't think clearly. Or just remember someone's name.
Don't you know who I am?" asked the old man as he watched Vincent who was still confused by this situation.
"My name is Eduardo. I've been wanting to meet you for a while. Didn't you graduate with the highest grade in your college?" The old man knew everything about Vincent.
'Who is that old man?' Vincent thought. He was getting more and more curious.
"Why didn't you answer my question?"
"Yes, you're right," Vincent replied. He was confused when answering the conglomerate man's question.
"Are you still diligently sending job applications to companies that have rejected you?"
Vincent smiled wryly as he lowered his gaze in shame. Mr Eduardo knew that too. My God, that's so embarrassing, Vincent thought. He felt inferior in front of the great and wonderful Mr Eduardo.
"Starting tomorrow, work in my company. I've prepared an important position for you. As Vice President and my right-hand man," Mr Eduardo offered.
"Vice President?" Vincent widened his eyes in surprise.
"Me?" Vincent still did not believe Mr Eduardo's words.
"That's right. You're the one, Vin. The one who will inherit my company in the future. Because you are honest, smart, and have the soul of a leader. I've been watching you for a long time. Since you were in college," Mr Eduardo explained. Vincent turned his head.
"Perhaps, you are that benefactor, Sir? Are you the one?" Vincent was surprised.
Vincent remembered the benefactor who had helped him with his education at university. However, at that time Vincent had never been told about the mysterious benefactor who had been helping him.
Mr Eduardo told Vincent everything. He said that when Vincent went to university, he was the one who gave Vincent a full scholarship until he finished his studies.
Since his parents were killed in a traffic accident ten years ago, Mr Eduardo had been Vincent's guardian. He paid for all of Vincent's education after his parents died.
Mr Eduardo was attracted to Vincent's determined and unyielding personality. Apart from being a genius, Mr Eduardo also groomed Vincent to lead his company in the future. That's the reason why Vincent was not accepted to work in any company. It was all because of Mr Eduardo, who wanted Vincent to occupy the highest position in his company.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier, Sir?" Vincent was still shocked by Mr Eduardo's explanation.
"I'm sorry, Vin. I just want you to focus on your studies. I don't want to burden you with company business. Although at the time, my company really needed you," explained Mr Eduardo.
Vincent understood now. However, for him this was unbelievable. How was it possible and how could he suddenly become so rich overnight? Mr Eduardo had given him a fortune and all the company's assets at both headquarters and branches. Soon these valuable assets would be his. However, there were conditions that Vincent had to fulfil for Mr Eduardo.
"What are the conditions, Sir?" Vincent wanted to know.
"Get ready. In a few days I will introduce you to my daughter. After that, I'll tell you the conditions," Mr Eduardo told him. He seemed very mysterious and Vincent found it difficult to understand the old man's intentions in wanting him to be the rightful heir to his fortune.
At exactly 8am, a luxury car pulled up in front of the courtyard of an office building. The well-dressed young man who got out of the car immediately ordered the security guard to park his car. Then, he entered the building.
All the employees in the big company were stunned to see the handsome and dashing man walking striding into the office building. There were a lot of them whispering at this moment, trying to figure out who the young man was.
Vincent was welcomed by the higher-ups in the company. Including Mr Eduardo who greeted him with a warm hug, like a father to his son, followed by a round of applause from the other shareholders present.
Today, Vincent was appointed by Mr Eduardo as Vice President Director. Not only that, he also becomes Mr Eduardo's right-hand man from now on. The important announcement has now spread to the head office and all branch offices headed by Mr Eduardo.
"Congratulations Vin," said Mr Eduardo as he greeted him. Vincent shook Mr Eduardo's hand politely.
"Thank you, Sir," Vincent replied briefly.
After officially becoming Vice President, Vincent was accompanied by his personal secretary, Alvin, on a tour of the office. The employees were stunned to see Vincent as their new boss.
When they went around accompanied by Alvin, Edward and Emma, who happened to be in the same office, they were astonished by Vincent's drastic change.
Emma was stunned to see the new look of her former lover who was now transformed into a super great person. Even better than Edward, her new lover.
"Vin!" called Emma.
Vincent and Alvin looked back, right at Emma. How presumptuous of her! That woman dared to call her superior's name directly in front of the other employees.
"Is it really you, Vin?" Edward confirmed it again. "Impossible," he muttered.
"Vin, is it true you're going to be working here?" Emma asked as she approached Vincent in the office corridor. She looked shocked to learn that Vincent had such an important position in the office. Her face turned instantly pale. Her tone of voice faltered.
"Be careful, Miss! Watch your language! The young master is your superior now," Alvin warned Emma.
"Oh, sorry," Emma regretted. After being warned, Emma also looked down in shame. From now on, she couldn't freely look at her former lover's face anymore.
"Young Master, do you know them?" Alvin asked. He turned to Vincent who was still watching Emma.
Emma's hands and feet were trembling. Apparently, she regretted something to Vincent. About what she said yesterday.
"I don't know. I forgot," Vincent replied briefly. He left the two people who had insulted and humiliated him yesterday. Alvin soon followed behind Vincent.
"Forgot? We were at the coffee shop yesterday. Back then, you didn't look as great as you do now, Vin," Edward reminded again. His tone was not very polite when dealing with the Vice President.
Vincent stopped his steps. He turned around and took a few steps closer to Edward. The two tall men were now facing each other like they were about to have a duel.
