Chapter 5 What Kind of Overbearing Treaty Is This?

Monica immediately got Angelina's implication. She lowered her head and replied, "Got it, Mom. I'll clean up and won't cause any trouble."

Angelina finally seemed satisfied. "There's a million bucks on this card. Use it to buy some decent clothes. Don't embarrass me."

"Okay." Monica nodded and accept the card.

Her quick response pleased Angelina, but she didn't forget to remind, "Keep up this attitude."

No matter how Monica had knocked Wayne out, the fact that she called the cops made Angelina very happy. It was a humiliation to Cheryl Baker, Wayne's mother.

Monica kept her head down and said, "I will, Mom."

Angelina didn't say anything more and turned to leave.

Monica walked to the door, watched for a moment, and after confirming that Angelina had entered the elevator, she locked the door. She even pulled the partition curtain.

"Alright, she's gone. You can open your eyes now."

As soon as Monica finished speaking, Brandon opened his eyes. "I knew I wasn't wrong about you." A sly smile played on Brandon's lips.

"Now, call someone to bring me the agreement. Also, I need to make sure my mom is safe. Then I'll start getting ready." Monica couldn't forget what Angelina had instructed her.

Brandon gave her a look. "Hand me your phone."

Monica paused before handing him her phone.

Brandon looked at the phone, an old-fashioned flip phone, and frowned. "What century is this phone from?"

"I'm not as loaded as you. Now, you're supposed to be unconscious, so just deal with it!" Monica shot back without hesitation.

Seriously, at a time like this, he was still being picky!

Brandon dialed a number, and after a moment, the call connected. He spoke in a commanding tone, "Prepare an agreement for me. It should state that during the marriage, both parties will cooperate and help each other. After two years, they will separate and divorce without any entanglements. And, find someone to relocate Kathie."

"Once it's done, send a video to this phone. Never mind; send a photo." Brandon paused, realizing the old phone couldn't handle videos.

Monica didn't know how to describe her feelings at that moment. Brandon was the eldest son of the Robinson family, wealthy and powerful, unlike her, who wasn't even acknowledged by Henry.

This flip phone was a birthday gift she bought for herself with her part-time job earnings. The gap between rich and poor was so stark.

However, Brandon noticed Monica's expression, which wasn't as excited as he had expected. He frowned, "Everything is being done according to your request. What's bothering you?"

"Nothing." Monica didn't want to delve deeper. After all, she and Brandon weren't at a point where they could confide in each other.

Brandon hadn't hung up the phone yet. He added, "One more thing, the woman must not hide anything from the man. During the period the man helps the woman, she must unconditionally comply with his requests."

With that, Brandon hung up the phone.

Monica's face twisted in frustration. "Brandon, what kind of unfair deal is this?"

Brandon remained unfazed. "You were sent by the Evans family. I'm already being generous by meeting your demands. Do you think I'm some kind of savior who'll help you out of the goodness of my heart?"

A cold sneer curled on Brandon's lips, and his eyes were icy.

Monica felt a pang of bitterness. It hit her hard.

The Evans family didn't dare cross the Robinson family and forced her to marry Brandon instead of Laura. She was at a disadvantage against the Robinson family and couldn't resist or refuse Brandon's unfair terms.

But there was one silver lining. At least after two years, Brandon would be willing to divorce her and set her free.

During this period, he would also protect Kathie and help her reclaim what was rightfully hers.

Monica suppressed the sadness rising in her heart and said slowly, "I never thought that. As long as you're happy."

An hour later, someone knocked on the hospital room door.

Brandon still had his eyes open, showing no intention of closing them.

Monica was anxious. She lowered her voice, "Didn't you hear the knock?"

"Just go open the door." Brandon's tone was calm, without a hint of panic.

Seeing his relaxed demeanor, Monica decided not to worry about him.

She opened the door to find a man in a silver-gray business suit and gold-rimmed glasses standing there, holding a briefcase.

Monica asked cautiously, "Who are you?"

The man quickly responded, "I'm Justin Smith, Mr. Robinson's assistant."

Monica immediately realized he was Brandon's man and let him in.

To be cautious, Monica locked the door after he entered.

Justin walked straight to Brandon. "Mr. Robinson, here's the agreement you asked for. However, Kathie has been relocated, and our people are still tracking the exact location."

"What did you say?" Monica was extremely agitated.

Brandon gave Monica a look, and she fell silent, though her eyes remained fixed on the man.

Justin continued, "Kathie was moved by Henry. He was very cautious this time, and we haven't found any clues."

Monica clenched her fists, her eyes flashing with a fierce light.

At that moment, she wished she could rush to Henry and Laura and tear them apart.

She had already agreed to marry into the Robinson family in Laura's place. Why did they still treat her like this?

Brandon frowned. "Sign the agreement first. As for Kathie, Justin will continue to follow up."

Monica snapped back to reality, quickly walked over to Brandon, and took the two copies of the agreement. Without hesitation, she had signed her name.

At this point, she had no choice but to trust Brandon. After all, besides Brandon, she had no one else to rely on or cooperate with.

She handed the agreement back to Brandon.

After signing his name, Brandon gave one copy to Monica.

Monica folded the agreement and put it away. "I'll leave my mom to you. You heard what Angelina said earlier. I'll go get ready to meet Mr. Richard Robinson."
