Chapter 6 Imprisoned

Hugo walked away without a second glance.

His resolute departure felt like a sharp blade, piercing Lyanna's heart.

Her eyes blazed with fury as she glared at Amelia like a hungry wolf. "Amelia, you think you can beat me that easily? Think again."

With that, she signaled her bodyguards to clear the room and prepare to forcibly take Amelia away.

But Amelia remained calm, a mysterious smile playing on her lips. "You really think I'd come here alone without any backup?"

As soon as she finished speaking, a commotion erupted outside the hall.

A group of uniformed police officers burst through the doors, approaching Lyanna. "Ms. Smith, you're under arrest for the attempted murder of your father, Barry. Please come with us."

Lyanna's face turned as white as a sheet at the sight of the arrest warrant. She shook her head frantically, screaming, "No, this must be a mistake!"

She tried to flee, but the officers quickly restrained her, snapping cold handcuffs around her wrists.

Audrey, who had just arrived, was terrified and instinctively tried to run.

But Amelia wasn't about to let her go. She pointed in Audrey's direction and shouted, "Officer, there's another one!"

The police swiftly apprehended Audrey with ease.

"Amelia, you bitch! Do you think this will bring us down? The Smith Group is ours now. Just wait, we won't let you get away with this!" Lyanna and Audrey hurled insults at Amelia.

Amelia merely smirked, her disdain evident. "Fine, do whatever you want. I'll be waiting."

She turned to leave, but a group of imposing bodyguards blocked her path.

The crowd parted, and Raymond stepped forward.

Seeing Amelia's surprise, he smiled knowingly. "Did you think you were the only one making plans?"

Amelia's heart skipped a beat. "Raymond, what are you doing here?"

Before she could react, she tried to escape, but Raymond was ready. He grabbed her arm with an iron grip and yanked her back.

Raymond's eyes were cold. "Running now? Isn't it a bit late for that?"

Amelia scoffed. "It's never too late to run."

Seizing the moment, she leaned in as if to kiss him. Raymond instinctively recoiled, allowing Amelia to break free and sprint away.

Raymond shouted after her, "If you run now, what about your friend?"

Amelia paused, looking back to see Lucy, bound and unable to move, in Raymond's custody.

How did Lucy get here?

If Lucy was here, where was Zoey?

Frantically, Amelia searched for Zoey but found no sign of her.

Lucy subtly signaled to Amelia, indicating she had sent Zoey away when Raymond's men approached.

Relieved that Zoey was safe, Amelia turned back to Raymond, trying to stay calm. "Alright, what do you want?"

Raymond raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Just returning the favor for what you did to me."

Ten minutes later.

Amelia, hands bound, was shoved into a luxury car with such force that it felt like her bones might break.

She struggled and shouted, "Can't you be gentler?"

Raymond, his face like stone, replied coldly, "Don't forget, you're a prisoner now. Prisoners don't get to make demands."

He climbed into the car and ordered the driver, "To Stonegate Manor."

The car drove through the grand gates of Stonegate Manor.

Raymond dragged Amelia out of the car and threw her onto the living room sofa.

Standing over her, he demanded, "Tell me, what drug did you use on me?"

This was the question that had haunted Raymond.

He needed to know what drug Amelia had used to render him powerless, lose his mind, and end up in such a humiliating situation.

Amelia initially scared, then smiled slyly. "Mr. Adams, do you want that drug? Did you enjoy it so much that you want more?"

Her teasing words snapped Raymond's patience.

He grabbed a knife from the table and stabbed it into the sofa next to her face.

Grinding his teeth, he threatened, "If you don't start talking, I'll teach you how to speak properly."

He twisted the knife, the blade inching closer to her skin.

Terrified, Amelia blurted out, "I'll talk! It was just a simple sedative. It only makes people lose consciousness temporarily, not their minds."

Raymond scoffed. "So you're saying I was willing?"

Amelia retorted, "What else? You're a grown man. If you didn't want to do anything, could I really force you?"

Her blunt words enraged Raymond. "Still lying? I underestimated you."

He signaled to his bodyguards. "Take her to the basement. Let the dogs teach her some manners."

The bodyguards responded, "Yes, sir."

Amelia screamed in terror, "Raymond, are you even human? How can you do this to me?"

As the bodyguards moved to drag her away, the butler, Floyd Ryan, rushed down the stairs, panic-stricken. "Mr. Adams, it's Noah. He's eaten something wrong and passed out."
