Chapter 4

I spotted that ugly sweater a mile away as I watched him reach the top shelf to put the weird science book back. Geez, Roman got tall.

In all honesty, the last time I really looked at him was in Sophomore year when he sat in front of me in Art. Apart from that, I had never seen him. But he was definitely over 6ft.

I, and my 5'6' height, carefully walked over until we were a few feet away. In quick thinking, I grabbed a random book from the shelf and walked up to Roman.

"D'you mind putting this back for me?" I asked as politely as possible and held out the book.

Roman looked down in surprise to see me standing there and then narrowed his eyes. What was his deal? He looked at the cover off the book and shook his head.

"That's bionics, it back there with the B's, not up here with the E's." oh. That was a huge failure.

"Oh." I shoved the book in a random place. Roman only rolled his eyes and grabbed the book before trekking back to the B section.

"It's not that hard." He said and placed the book back where it belonged.

It was now or never.

"Listen, Roman. I need your help." He looked back at me and raised an eyebrow. He didn't look amused. What was this guy's problem? Most boys were putty in my hands whenever I was around them.

"Help?" he said the work slowly.

"You tutor right?" he didn't reply. "Well, I'm like really failing and I talked to Mrs Sanders and she told me that you were my best option."

"You're asking me to tutor you?"

"Yes."

"No." he turned to walk away. Excuse me, what?

"What?" I turned around on my heel to see him continuing to walk away. Um, rude. "Wait up!" I rushed to meet him. God, he walked fast.

"But Mrs Sanders said that you were my best option." I argued.

"Too bad. You'll have to find someone else. I'm not interested." How could he not be interested? Everyone was interested in me!

"I need a higher GPA to get into a good college and your tutoring is going to help me get in." I explained.

"Boohoo, the rich girl can't get into college with her grades. Looks like you'll need to turn to what every rich girl does in this position." Was he really suggesting I bribe my way into college? That was low. Accurate in a sense, but still low.

"I don't understand why you don't want to help me! Most guys would die for this moment."

He stopped and turned around. A bored expression lingered on his face. "Well, sorry I'm not like most guys. I don't spend my time tending to spoilt girls who expect me to do their work for them. Find someone else. Goodbye."

"But – !" he turned the corner before I could defend myself. Jesus, this guy had a stick up his ass!

I walked out of the library to find Rya nervously waiting outside.

"How'd it go?" I gave her a death glare and she shrunk back a little. "I'm guessing not well."

"I'm fucking screwed."

The next day, I stood by my locker trying to understand why Roman turned me down. He was a complete nerd, an outcast, a lowlife. It would make sense for him to want to tutor me considering the wonders I could do to his social life. Not that I wanted to be seen with him, but it was a kind thought.

I needed to talk to Mrs Sanders about having Pippa tutor me instead. In a way, it was a blessing in disguise; I wouldn't have to talk to nor spend time with Roman, but my grades would really suffer. Still, Pippa was better than nothing.

My eyes lit up as I saw Adam open his locker across from me. Oh, thank the Heavens above!

I ran my fingers through my hair to give it a sexy juzz and swung my hips as I walked over.

"Hey, Adam." I smiled and rested my hip against the locker next to his.

"Sienna." He looked up in surprise. "What d'you want?"

"You." I smiled seductively and watched his jaw tense. I know he missed me. He had to by now.

He sighed and placed a book back in his locker. "We're broken up, Sienna. It's best if you forget about that."

He was lying to himself; I could see it clear. "Come on, baby. I know you miss me." I did the pouty lips, something he was a sucker for. His jaw tense again and he looked back into his locker.

"Even if I did, we are broken up."

"We're on a break." I corrected. "I know you'll come around sooner." I rested my hand on his shoulder and slid it down his chest. "I just know it." I pressed my lips against his ear and whispered.

I wanted to touch him. Urgh, I wanted to touch him so bad. I bet he was throbbing. I bet he yearned for it.

"We both know that vanilla girl could never satisfy you the way I do." I slowly grazed my hand down his torso. He didn't stop me, instead I heard him take a sharp intake of breath. Doing things in public was a huge kink of his. I only ever let us do things in his car. Once I let him finger me in Spanish class. Those times were enough.

A sharp beep went off in his pocket and he snapped out of my trance. He pushed me off. I stumbled back a bit and watched him check his phone.

"That's Leah." He spoke. "We're going out after school." He slammed his locker shut. "See you around." He said and left abruptly.

I knew he was going to come around, only this time he was putting up more of a fight. But I loved a good challenge. Leah Kingston had nothing on me.

I told Rya I was going to meet her in the music rooms to discuss a plan of getting Adam back and it all started off with that little, vanilla girl.

Just as I was to turn the corner, I heard a voice and then a name I recognised.

"That's really sweet, Roman." Roman. What was he doing up here? Unless he was a music prodigy? I wouldn't put it past him.

I peaked my head around the corner. Emily Lewis. She was a sweet girl whose blonde hair was a few shades lighter than Rya's, with doll-like fair skin. She was in the school choir and played the flute. She was also my partner for our final scripted piece in Drama last year. She was a sweet girl, I had nothing against her.

"Will you go out me with then?" I heard Roman ask hopefully. OMG, Roman had a crush on Emily! Who knew?!

"I'm sorry Roman. I just don't see you in that way." Emily smiled sadly. "I like a guy with a little more... experience."

"E-Experience?" Roman repeated.

"You know... sexually. And it's no secret that you have, well, none." This was gold. Sweet, little choir girl, Emily Lewis, liked to get down and dirty. Who knew? I guess she liked blowing more than the flute.

"O-Oh." Roman stuttered.

"I'm really sorry. Maybe in the future?" Emily smiled again before turning back into the music room. I looked at Roman whose face appeared heartbroken. It was so sad it almost made me sad. Almost. Roman didn't just have a crush on Emily, he had a fat crush on Emily. Like Santa getting stuck down the chimney fat.

He turned away and I quickly hid back behind the wall. I watched as he walked past me with his hands shoved into his pockets and head hung low.

Poor thing. If only he had more experience. I, on the other hand, had lots of it. Too much for my age that it concerned me.

Hang on a minute...

An idea burst into my mind like hundreds of bubbles, seeping their soapy smarts into my brain.

"Bingo."
