Chapter 1

"Serena..."

Entangled in each other's arms, they were ablaze with desire—until the man's slip of the tongue brought a chilling reminder of another.

Charlotte Russell clung to Frederick Percy's neck, feeling his thick and hard cock moving in and out of her. She held back a moan, a tear slipping from the corner of her eye.

Frederick didn't notice her feelings. His hands gripped her breasts, his fingers teasing her nipples before giving them a firm pinch, making Charlotte stifle a groan.

Charlotte's red lips parted slightly, her breath coming out in soft gasps. The intense pleasure almost made her lose her mind.

"Frederick, let's have a baby."

Frederick paused, lifted her legs, and without any tenderness, thrust into her again, biting her nipple. "Charlotte, you're not worthy of bearing my child!"

A cold glint flashed in Frederick's clear eyes as he continued to take Charlotte more fiercely.

Each time he pulled out completely, then pressed down on Charlotte's waist and thrust back in hard, reaching the deepest part, making Charlotte's already sensitive body even more addicted.

Charlotte's moans came out in broken gasps, her eyes tinged with red. In a daze, her gaze fell on Frederick's lips, and she slowly propped herself up and moved closer. "Frederick, do you dare to kiss me?"

They had been married for five years, had made love countless times, but had never kissed.

A look of disgust flashed in Frederick's eyes, his face darkened. He didn't even want to look at her face, so he turned her over, pressing her down. In this rear-entry position, his thrusts became increasingly deep.

Charlotte buried her head in the pillow, hiding the emotions in her eyes.

Frederick made his final thrusts on her, and at the moment of ejaculation, his cold voice came through.

"Charlotte, let's get a divorce."

The flush on her body hadn't faded yet, but her face turned pale instantly.

Charlotte looked at him in confusion. "What did you say?"

Frederick withdrew his cock from her body, casually picked up two documents from the table, and handed them to her. "Serena is pregnant. I need to marry her, but after the divorce, I will still support you."

Charlotte's hands trembled as she picked up the documents. One was a divorce agreement, and the other was a maintenance agreement.

After five years of marriage, he wanted to make her his mistress just to give Serena Brown a proper status?

"Frederick, give me a reason." Charlotte's voice trembled.

"Serena is pregnant, and she's not in a good state. I have to give her a sense of security." Frederick's tone softened when he mentioned her.

She was the one he cherished the most.

Charlotte felt like her heart was being cut by a knife.

Their five-year marriage had long been a facade. Originally, this marriage was something she had forced.

Charlotte slowly raised her head, gently touching her belly, her red lips trembling slightly. "Frederick, if I were pregnant too, would you still insist on a divorce?"

Frederick glanced at her coldly and stated with unwavering certainty, "Charlotte, you won't have my child."

A fine pain spread through Charlotte's heart. Her eyes flickered, and she spoke in a very calm tone, "Fine, I agree to the divorce."

Charlotte decisively signed her name on the divorce agreement. Frederick's assets were all split in half for her. He was so generous to get a divorce for marrying Serena.

As for the maintenance agreement, Charlotte didn't even look at it. She picked it up and tore it to pieces.

Seeing Charlotte's decisiveness, Frederick was taken aback.

Charlotte looked at the shredded paper on the ground, as if seeing her shattered youth.

Back when Frederick needed a wife, Charlotte stepped up, despite her family's objections.

Everyone thought she was after the Percy family's money, but no one knew she'd secretly loved Frederick for ages.

On Charlotte and Frederick's wedding day, Serena had a car accident while leaving the country in a fit of rage.

Charlotte watched as Frederick left the wedding to be with Serena. Her desperate pleas were ignored, and she became the laughingstock of Silverlight City.

Their marriage had been a miserable affair.

Charlotte took a deep breath, picked up her clothes from the floor, and put them on piece by piece. "When are we handling the paperwork?"

Her calmness threw Frederick off. "Are you really just going to leave like this?"

Charlotte nodded, her eyes cold. "What else? Should I share a man with Ms. Brown?"

Frederick frowned, speaking with disgust. "Charlotte, don't joke about Serena. Say one more word and you can get out."

Charlotte smirked self-deprecatingly. "No need to tell me, I'll leave on my own."

She didn't have much stuff in the Percy Villa, everything could fit in one suitcase.

But as she was leaving, her pregnancy test report fell out of her bag, falling right in front of Frederick, with a clear positive result.

His eyes grew cold, his tone mocking, "Charlotte, what's with this pregnancy test report? I didn't expect you to fake a report just to avoid a divorce."

Charlotte stiffened, turning to stare at Frederick.

Frederick threw the pregnancy test report in her face.

Thinking of Frederick's cold mockery, Charlotte deliberately raised an eyebrow, her demeanor casual. "So what if it's fake? In five years of marriage, our relationship has always been lukewarm. If pretending to be pregnant can get your attention, then I've achieved my aim."

Charlotte spoke indifferently, bending down to pick up the report from the floor, the wound in her heart expanding infinitely, bleeding.

She looked up at Frederick, who had a cold smile on his lips. "Charlotte, I really underestimated you."

Charlotte didn't argue. She couldn't possibly tell him that the pregnancy test report was real, could she?

"Frederick, let me know when you've decided on the time to handle the divorce paperwork."

With that, Charlotte dragged her suitcase out of the Percy Villa.

She turned her head, looking at the place she had lived for five years, with no particularly happy memories in her mind—a life of constant waiting and dashed hopes.

She thought every day about when Frederick would come back, how many days he would stay at home.

Charlotte felt a pang of sorrow. It turned out that all her years of effort to take care of him and waiting for him to come back had gone unnoticed by Frederick. In the end, she had only moved herself.

Charlotte got into a taxi, and the suppressed emotions exploded in her chest, tears streaming down uncontrollably.

By the time she arrived at her friend Fiona Johnson's house, Charlotte's eyes were swollen from crying.

Fiona was shocked to learn that Charlotte had signed the divorce agreement. "Why? You've been together for five years, how could he divorce you?"

Charlotte's voice was despondent, "Serena is pregnant."

Fiona was stunned.

She hugged Charlotte, comforting her in a low voice, "Forget him. If five years of marriage couldn't gain his heart, you can find someone else. You're so outstanding, there's no way no one will love you."

"Just in time, the company is developing a new perfume. You can get involved, just to change your mood."

Charlotte leaned against Fiona, responding lightly.

She slowly covered her belly, feeling a deep sadness. 'Baby, from now on, you'll only have Mommy.'
