“Do you know who you just pissed off?” Deegan asked.

“Just some gold digging human,” the waitress replied.

“If you had pissed off just some random human it would have been fine. You pissed THEM off.”

“They are just demons like the rest of us, why does it matter?”

“Why does it matter? Not only are they the owners, they are also demon royalty.”

Her face paled. “I'm fired aren't I?”

“Not yet. You have been assigned toilet duty for two weeks,” he said as he handed her a mop.

“I would rather be fired.”

“If you lose this job, you will be sent back to the demon realm. Do you really want that? I’m sure toilet duty is still better than what you were doing there,” Deegan stated, “Now, take your pick: toilet duty or return home?”

She stomped her foot, throwing a tantrum, and started groaning under her breath. “Fine…”

“If anybody helps her, or covers for her, they will be fired on the spot along with her!” Deegan made sure to look at every employee when he said this.

“That's not fair!” she hissed.

“I can make it a month.”

“NOOOO! I’m going,” she whined as she walked away. “I’m gonna make you pay for this, bitch!”

“Maisy, are you okay? Why do you have the mop?”

“I’m on bathroom duty,” she started whining again. “I need you to do something for me.”

“No, I will not do toilet duty for you.”

“I wasn't even going to ask that.”

“Then what?”

“Take a drink and accidentally spill it on someone.”

“Are you trying to get me put on bathroom duty too?”

“Deegan likes you, he won't put you on bathroom duty.”

“Perks of sleeping with the boss.”

“Don't have to rub it in.”

“But it’s so much fun,” she gushed, grinning, “Now, who do I need to fuck up?”

“Just some human girl.” Maisy pointed to Emily stating, “She is the reason I’m on bathroom duty.”

“She is with two very hot, very powerful demons. Have you lost your mind?”

“Just trip and spill it. They haven't seen you, so they won't think it’s on purpose. Besides, like you said, you are sleeping with the boss, so nothing will happen.”

“Alright, I’ll do it. I do love creating havoc.”

Maisy watched as Emily danced with the two owners; her jealousy boiling more and more as she watched. How can a mere human get the attention of two beautiful demons? she asked herself. She continued watching as Tara made her ankle twist, spilling two vodkas all over Emily’s dress.

“I am so sorry! I didn't mean to, my ankle gave out,” Tara stated.

“It’s okay.”

“No, it isn’t,” Sal retorted

“I’ll be fine. I just need to go to the bathroom and clean this up,” Emily spoke up, “I'll meet y'all back at the table.”

Emily felt sorry for the girl hurting her ankle more than being upset about her dress. I am gonna have to ask Sal why he was so upset about the dress getting wet, she thought to herself, clothes can be washed. What is the point in getting mad over something so miniscule?

She opened the door to the bathroom, almost hitting Maisy.

“Excuse me! I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there.”

“Why are you even here?”

“My dress is wet, so I came to clean it off,” Emily answered as she walked over to the sink, grabbing a few paper towels.

“You don’t belong here and you don’t belong with them,” Maisy asserted through gritted teeth.

“I'm just gonna go,” Emily said as walked toward the door to leave.

Maisy blocked her path. “You just want to get in their pants and con them, and get some money out of them.”

“I take it you are interested in them?” she asked. “What I do with them is none of your business,” she said, trying again to leave.

“I didn’t say you could leave, bitch,” Maisy snarled angrily as she grabbed Emily by her hair, shoving her into the first stall. “Humans are the scum of the Earth. You are beneath m-”

Maisy felt a hand wrap around her throat making it impossible for her to finish her sentence.

“I thought I told you that I didn't want to see you again.” Manny’s eyes were glowing red. “Apparently bathroom duty isn’t enough of a punishment.”

Maisy’s feet were dangling as she was pushed farther up the wall. She was so busy trying to remove Manny's arm that she didn’t notice that Sal had his hand around Tara’s throat.

Manny could smell blood, his need to protect Emily overpowering his anger for a brief moment, causing him to let Maisy go. She scrambled to her feet in an attempt to flee but didn't get two steps before Sal grabbed her with his free hand.

Manny saw blood on Emily’s neck from the impact of when she was pushed so he picked her up bridal style and carried her to the sink. “Deegan, bring me the first aid kit and an ice pack.”

“At once.”

“I'll be fine, I don't want to inconvenience anyone.”

“It will be an inconvenience if I don't take care of you.”

“What is the point of arguing with you? I’ll just be wasting my breath,” she sighed.

“Exactly.”
