Chapter 062 Setting Alexander Up

"Got it," Alexander said, not giving it much thought.

"Well, you better get to it. I'll take Daniel and Amelia with me for a bit," Heath said.

"Okay," Alexander replied and walked off.

Heath was about to take William and Sophia away, and they didn't put up a fight.

Timothy, being the social butterfly he was, never felt like an outsider, especially since he was tight with Alexander. Naturally, he tagged along with Heath.

Bertha was chilling in the living room. When she saw her cute grandson, she beamed and said, "Daniel! Come here. I've got your favorite snacks ready."

William didn't say a word. He looked at her outstretched arms with disdain. This woman always scolded their mom. No matter how much she spoiled him, he didn't like her.

"Why aren't you coming over?" Bertha asked, puzzled. His attitude had changed recently, and he wasn't as close to her as before.

She felt disappointed and looked at Heath with a hint of a pout. "Heath, what's up with Daniel? Why's he acting so weird?"

"Is he? He seems fine," Heath replied nonchalantly.

William shivered. It was creepy. Bertha, at her age, still acting all cutesy.

Timothy noticed William's reaction and Bertha's awkward expression. He said, "Mrs. Smith, these two kids haven't been feeling well lately. Don't take it personally."

"How could I hold a grudge against my own grandkids? Timothy, make yourself at home," Bertha said, then pulled William into her arms, asking anxiously, "Daniel, are you not feeling well? Where does it hurt? Have you seen a doctor?"

William was speechless. He shot Timothy a disdainful look. What kind of excuse was that? It was just making things harder for him. He hated being close to people, except for his mom.

Meanwhile, Sophia was much more relaxed. Bertha didn't like her anyway, so she enjoyed the peace. Seeing the table full of delicious food prepared for her and William, she sat in the dining room and happily started eating.

Timothy noticed that and observed quietly.

William saw Sophia completely forgetting about their act as soon as she saw the food. He helplessly rubbed his forehead. It seemed like their cover would be blown sooner or later.

Bertha didn't bother with them anymore. She looked at Heath and asked, "Heath, did Alexander agree?"

"Yeah," Heath replied coldly, but his furrowed brows never relaxed.

Bertha knew what was on his mind. She sat beside him, held his hand, and tried to comfort him, "I know you don't want to deceive Alexander, but we're doing this for his own good. Once we arrange his marriage with Stella, he'll eventually understand our intentions."

Heath wasn't as optimistic. He sighed, "Alexander isn't someone you can manipulate. He has his own ideas, especially about his marriage. If he doesn't want to, no one can force him into it."

"What do you mean by that?" Bertha snapped, displeased. "Even if he doesn't agree, we have to make it happen. Stella is a great girl, waiting for him for so many years. He should also think about his age and his two kids. If we don't act quickly to set him up with Stella, are we just waiting for him to reignite things with Monica?"

"Whether it's Monica or Stella, it's his own feelings. Can we..."

"No!" Bertha interrupted angrily at the mention of Monica. "No matter what, I won't allow that heartless woman to enter our family again!"

Heath felt helpless.

But he owed too much to this family. He couldn't argue against his wife's stubbornness.

In the dining room, Timothy and the two kids overheard their conversation and exchanged glances.

So Heath took the two kids away today to facilitate Alexander and Stella's marriage, afraid they would interfere.

Their faces turned cold, especially William, whose expression turned icy.

He didn't care who Alexander was with, but he just couldn't tolerate Bertha plotting against him.

William hated people who schemed behind others' backs the most.

Moreover, he couldn't imagine what Daniel would do if he knew Alexander was going on a date with Stella.

And Amelia, with her autism, would definitely not be treated well by a vicious woman like Stella.

No, he had to find a way to ruin Alexander's dinner tonight.

Coincidentally, Sophia had the same thought.

They exchanged a look and nodded secretly, having made up their minds.

In the evening, Bertha put on what she thought was beautiful makeup and went out with Heath.

Immediately, William signaled to Sophia. While Timothy was on the phone, they ran out.

Timothy didn't expect that just a phone call, which took no more than twenty seconds, would result in the two kids disappearing.

After asking the servants, he hurried to the door, only to find them hailing a cab.

Seeing a cab stop beside them, and they were about to get in, Timothy grabbed the back of their collars with both hands, making a fierce face. "Where do you think you're going?"
