I Hope He Crashes This One
Lilith:
Standing there was Seren, in shock, the same shock that I was in but for different reasons.
'This can't be heaven,' I said to myself as I realized that either this was my mind playing games with me or this was my afterlife.
Perhaps it was my hell.
"You're up? You're up!" Seren said, the first sentence sounding surprised and probably questioning what she was seeing, as the second statement was her realization of what she was seeing.
Her eyes lit up, and she would have crushed me if I had not stopped her from diving onto me like a mad person. She paused mid-run and came up to me, still in shock.
While she was still trying to get over the shock, I was still in a state of confusion, trying to understand what really happened.
"What happened?" I asked her, as I moved back to lean on the headboard of the bed.
"You don't know? I thought you'd be the one to tell me everything. We'll talk about that later. Tell me how you're feeling to start with.” She asked.
"Like I've just come from a trainwreck." I answered her, hoping it would give her a glimpse of how I felt.
"That's better than you being out for almost two days.” She chimed in, sadness flooding her face.
"I was out for an entire day?" I questioned her, shocked that this meant that I was out for the entire day that followed after Kieran dropped me.
This was the second day and I still felt like sh*t. Just as I was about to talk, someone else stepped into the room. More than one person, actually.
It was Alpha Zander, his son Ryder and his beta, Griffin. All of them looked as shocked as Seren when she saw me. The only difference is, I didn't share that shock with them.
Instead, I had already started to question if I was alive and this was my hell. A depiction of what I was supposed to suffer for eternity.
"You're awake, thank God ," Zander commented, sounding a bit relieved, but the look on his face said otherwise.
"What happened?" I asked, hoping that someone would actually answer me so that I could get a better picture of what happened.
"You tell us. You're the one that Exile took off with after killing our men." Ryder spat.
'Is that jealousy that I picked up in his tone?' I asked myself, wondering if my well-being was even a thought on his mind.
"I can't remember a thing. That's why I'm asking!" I retorted back, letting them know that I wasn't taking their sh*t, as always.
"Well, perhaps Griffin can tell you how he and his men found you. It could help jog your memory," Alpha Zander suggested.
Despite his calm voice, I could tell that all he cared about was what I could remember. It was clear, he cared to know more about Kieran from my foggy memory.
"We found you in the trench, barely alive. Your kidnapper was nowhere to be seen, but something was odd," Griffin said, prompting me to ask him what he meant by that.
He pulled out the dress that I had worn on the night that I was meant to be married. It was torn and dirty. However, what stood out about it was that I looked burnt from within.
The lining on the inside was charred and at least half of the entire dress had some burn marks. "Did you and that exile, for some reason, run through fire?" Griffin asked with a straight face.
It was a question that would have had me laughing, but considering how he was looking at me, he was serious. So, I shook my head since no such memory came to mind.
"What's the last thing that you remember?" He asked.
"Falling down the trench. And Kieran, standing on the other side looking at me," I replied, that being the only thing that was I could remember before I was engulfed in darkness.
"Why would he take you?" Alpha Zander asked, sounding more relaxed than Ryder when he addressed the fact that I was the one that Kieran took.
"I don't know," I replied, still contemplating the reason myself.
"Well, at least most of your injuries have healed," Seren commented, reminding me that at least one person in the room cared about me.
"Well, that hand and those cuts had better be healed within two days." Alpha Zander added, making me turn to look at Seren in panic before asking him. "Two days? What will happen in two days?"
I couldn't miss Ryder's huge grin when I asked this question. He scoffed, making me turn to look at him as he answered me.
"Our wedding, of course. Did you forget already?"
My heart stopped and when I turned to Alpha Zander, he was nodding in agreement.
"You're still going through with that sh*t? You just got attacked, and your men were killed and the first thing that you do is make sure that the wedding that was crashed follows through?" I questioned, wondering if I was the only sane person in the room.
"Ryder is still yet to be crowned Alpha, and when I do that, he needs his Luna to have a complete pack. So yes, we're still going through with that," Zander responded with finality. "And I don't want you having another rant about not going through with it since you have no other choice.” He added," and for that exile, Griffin will deal with him for now."
I mumbled something under my breath as they were about to leave and hoped that they didn't hear it. But of course, Ryder heard something.
He stopped, prompting his father and Griffin to stop, turned to me and asked, "What the hell did you just say?"
There was no reason for me to be afraid of them. So, with confidence, I answered,
"I said I. Wish. That. The. Exile. Comes. Again. And. Ruins. It. Too.” I made sure that they heard me word for word before I leaned back with the help of Seren, and laid back on the bed.
