Three
Leandro couldn't take his eyes off the woman lying in a hospital bed. She's so beautiful, even in her hospital gown and those ugly tubes that connected to her body. Slim and all proportioned. A wavy hair with the color just like midnight was up in her head. Aside from the small wound at the upper right of her forehead and a few bruises in her arms and legs, there are no more serious injuries found in her body.
Maybe she's not taller than 5'6" he thought. She's in a coma for 3 weeks now. He heaved a sigh. What fate that brought to this woman in his private beach? He hasn't got a chance to investigate if there's any news tragedy near the area.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Della Valle!"
The doctor is greeting him.
"Good afternoon, Dr. Huffman! How is she doing? When is she going to wake up? Do you have any idea?" he asked.
"We did a few tests about her vital organs, and it's all quiet well aside from her brain. Due to the high impact that caused a wound in her forehead, she will wake up with a temporary amnesia," the doctor said, then he continued.
"It will help her to bring back her memory with the help of bringing her in the environment she used to. And also she must be surrounded by the people she knows."
"Thank you, Doctor," he just said.
After the doctor had finished checking the woman, he left, leaving him alone with the sleeping woman, a comatose woman.
How could he help her bring back her memory? He doesn't even know her. And if it's true, what was the doctor saying? That she probably wakes up with temporary amnesia, which means it is the worst.
For the past three months since that day when he saw her lying facing down on the shore of his private beach. Yes, it's three months now. That was Saturday morning, almost noon actually.
He just arrived from Italy.
He came there to his unknown sanctuary to get away from the bitter and hurtful truth in Italy.
He doesn't know whether to be thankful or angry because his supposed to be silent get-away became busy due to this woman lying in bed unconscious. This has caused so much distraction. Distraction from his ex-fiancee.
Ah, his Margot and unfaithful ex-fiancee.
He thought that he finally found a woman who could be called his own. It means to be his partner in life forever. To walk alongside with him. In everything.
She's beautiful, elegant, and charming. He has dated many women, and no one has matched Margot's character. All of them were after all his money, status, and popularity.
He thought that Margot was different. She never asks for money. She never asks for gifts. Meaning she has never been a materialistic kind of person. She's content with what he could give. And he is very willing to give what's best for her. He wanted to shower her with expensive gifts the moment they got married.
He's so excited for their long-awaited day to come. He is ready to give the extravagant life to his wife. She deserve the luxurious lie. He could give it because he is a very successful man. He has billions in her banks.
He wants that his wife will be the envy of every woman. That's what he wants.
But in a splash, all that he dreamt of for his future wife has disappeared. Because Margot has thrown all that in one time bedsharing to his best friend.
Well, he doesn't know if that's the one time or if they've been doing it behind his back.
To hell with them now.
He looked at the woman in the hospital bed again. What fate has brought them to meet in a way like this?
He a sighs and closes his eyes.
