CHAPTER 4: Weird Woman (1)

"So, this is the position you are telling me about over the phone?" Jin overheard the woman question Lester.

"Yes. Since I will be busy for the next five months and I want someone to take good care of the casino at my hotel, I plan to assign you the task of managing it. Additionally, I want to use your bilingual skills to negotiate with some of my business partners."

"Really? Do you want me to take care of running your casino? What if I am the reason it fails financially? You also want me to act as your personal translator so that you can be certain that no information about what you and your "business partners" will discuss will ever get out. You also want me to take part in your auctions, which is another thing. Really tough work for a novice like me, do not you think? Ace, you really are such a slave driver." The woman smirked as she spoke.

"Oh, please. We both know your abilities. I expect to see great results from you."

"My... The fact that the well-known Lester Lim is praising me especially flatters me.

With a sly smile on their faces, the two of them exchanged looks. Jin feels as though they are aware of each other's thoughts just by glancing at each other. For some reason, Jin finds it really bothersome. The woman looks at them, breaking her gaze from Lester, and at last makes an official introduction.

"My name is Fujimoto Himari. As Ace mentioned, I will be the newest auction manager. I am hoping we can get along well."

"Ace?" Vincent asked.

"Oh. That is the name I gave him." She said.

Himari tells Vincent that she randomly thinks of something that could describe Lester's personality and attitude. She also explained that because 'Ace' is the highest ranking in playing cards, she chose it as Lester's nickname.

Jin did not say anything, but he silently observed Himari. Jin finds her suspicious. Both his logic and instincts tell him that Himari is not the type of woman he usually sees at business parties. And if Lester chooses her to be an auction manager, it proves that Himari is not your typical woman.

Dice then joined Vincent and the woman in conversation.

"Wait. Are you the one who began a restaurant chain in Finrel City? Because of its distinct ambiance, that restaurant is constantly in the spotlight. To think that the stunning owner of a well-known restaurant is now right in front of me."

Then Dice flirtatiously introduced himself to Himari, which she accepted with a smile. Vincent is next, revealing his famous smile, followed by Gael, who has just said his name before returning to sleep. When Himari looks back at Jin, their gazes meet again.

"My name is Jin Takishima," he said, keeping his usual expression.

"I know," Himari said, giving a soft chuckle. "I already know who you are."

Jin scowls slightly when he hears what she says.

"Mr. Takishima, please do not look at me like that. I only know about your existence because you are well-known as the White Dragons' young boss."

Her knowledge of a typical businesswoman is extensive. Before Jin can ask her any more questions, the door opens, revealing Lester's beloved woman, who is clearly unhappy.

"Do you need anything?" Lily, Lester's girlfriend, asked.

"Coffee."

"I am not your personal maid, you know? I also have my own business to take care of!" Lily complains, yet she still starts collecting Lester's cup on the table. In fact, Lily is just too weak for Lester's requests. "I should also make a cup of coffee for?"

"You must be Ace's girlfriend," Himari said as she looked up at Lily. "I am impressed that Ace found a woman who is willing to follow his every scheme and whim."

When Lester glares at Himari, she simply laughs and shakes her head. Himari is not only shady, but also strangely courageous. Jin rarely encounters a woman who is not scared or intimidated by their presence. Even Lily was terrified the first time she met them.

"Sorry. That was impolite of me. I am Himari Fujimoto."

"Hello. I am Lily Crue."

"Nice to meet you, Lily. I hope we can get along."

When Himari smiles at her, Lily relaxes and smiles back. When Lily returns to the kitchen to prepare some coffee for them, Lester looks at each of them before speaking.

"Good. Let us start this meeting right now."

While Himari sits quietly, she listens to Lester as he discusses the items they will need for the upcoming auction. Himari remembered calling earlier and informing him that she had already arrived in their city.

Lester chastised her for refusing to let him drive her to the airport and instructed her to head straight to his hotel so they could talk about the situation as soon as possible. Himari already had an idea of the kind of job Ace wanted to offer, but she never imagined that one of those jobs would be managing auctions.

She no longer finds Lester's black market auction to be shocking news. Himari was once invited by Lester to attend one of his auctions, but her busy schedule prevented her from attending. In the upper socialite circle, his auctions are also highly well-known. Simply put, this type of event is beneficial for wealthy individuals who are unsure about how to spend their funds.

Himari felt her phone vibrate inside her purse and fished it out to look at the screen.

'Of course. He is still calling me again.'

Akito began calling Himari nonstop as soon as she arrived in their city. Himari ignored his call and placed her phone on the table upside down. Lily leaned back on the sofa and placed a cup of coffee on the table in front of her.

"I am not sure what your preferences are, so I hope you do not mind if it is black coffee," Lily said with a welcoming smile.

"Do not stress too much about it. "I am not that picky about my coffee," Himari reassured her.

Himari observed Lily for a short time while she served coffee and tea to the other managers. It appears that the rumors are all true. Lester chose a normal girl. Not only that, but Lily does not act like she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. It is not like Himari is judging Lester's taste in women. All we can say is that she was not prepared for it.

'Well... who am I to judge Ace if he is content with his decision? Right?'
