CHAPTER 3: Reunion

Today, Emma wore a shoulder-bearing dress that showcased her alluring figure. Her everyday tied-up hair was now gently let loose, adding to her allure. She glanced around; in her previous life, she never visited places like this, always holding a hint of disdain. Her phone chimed with a text message, and she picked it up.

"Where are you?" It was a message from Nancy, who had planned to go shopping together but couldn't find Emma at home.

"I'm at the nightclub."

On the other end, Nancy almost dropped her phone. Emma, who had never come to such places before, was now here on her own.

"Who are you with?"

"Alone."

Nancy, worried for her friend, quickly got in her car and headed to the nightclub. Emma placed her phone down, continued scanning the surroundings, and took a sip of her drink, frowning.

"If you can't handle it, don't drink it."

A deep, low voice echoed in Emma's ear. She turned her head and recognized David. Today, Emma's purpose for coming here was to meet David. She had researched a lot about him online, especially the places he frequented. Although a few days had passed since their encounter at the car collision, David hadn't reached out to her.

"Aren't you drinking, too?" David asked as Emma mentioned it. He raised an eyebrow; the usually gentle and elegant Miss Emma was now seen at a place like this, making him a bit curious.

"Why are you here; looking for me?"

"That's right."

Emma didn't hesitate to answer; their future relationship would be a collaboration, so there was nothing wrong with being clear about it.

"Want to get compensate for finding me? I'm not short of money."

David chuckled. He had noticed her looking for him since she entered, yet he intentionally didn't make a move.

"I know, so do you want to consider compensating me with your body?"

Even David was surprised by her words. What he had said that day was just a joke, with no intention of involving himself with the Green family.

"I heard that Miss Emma is about to get married. Having a fight with your future husband and coming to me?"

In this city, everyone knew that Miss Emma and Mr. Mark were getting married soon. It wasn't appropriate for her to come here and say such things.

"No, I want to cooperate with you."

David saw the determination in her eyes and felt a bit suspicious. He took a sip of his drink and continued, "So, you want to make a deal. What do you propose?"

"Be serious for a moment. Let's make a mutually beneficial deal. What do you think?"

David looked at Emma with interest, finding it hard to figure out what she wanted.

"Miss Emma, are you interested in me?"

"Be serious. Let's make a deal that benefits both sides. What do you think?"

David raised an intrigued eyebrow and, after taking another sip of his drink, said, "So, that's it. I thought Miss Emma was interested in me."

"Do you dare to steal a bride?"

"Is Miss Emma suggesting I crash her wedding?"

David put on a surprised expression, not wanting to get involved in trouble.

"Yes."

David had never been serious about work before, always appearing charming. He forcefully pulled Emma's chair, causing her to lose balance and fall towards him.

"Does Miss Emma want to have an affair? Want to be my woman?"

"We are making a mutually beneficial deal."

Emma pushed David, her face slightly flushed. Until now, aside from Mark, Emma had never been intimate with a man in this way.

"Oh, I regret not having the interest to steal a bride when that person is not my woman."

"You..." Emma was infuriated, her throat tightening. She had forgotten that the man named David had a notorious reputation for using his charm. Emma controlled her anger to avoid punching David.

"As long as you help me, I will help you take everything from the William Corporation."

"Interesting, but I don't need it."

After that, he stood up, flashed a charming smile at Emma, and pulled a black card from his pocket, handing it to her before leaving.

"I look forward to Miss Emma contacting me again."

Emma increasingly couldn't understand what kind of man this was. In her past life, despite being very flirtatious, David, when leading the AIA Corporation, was always very astute. Now, Emma took the initiative to help David, but he stubbornly rejected this good opportunity.

Emma held the black card in her hand, furious as she clenched her fist. Whatever happens, Emma must let David attend the wedding and steal a kiss; only then could things change.

Nancy entered the nightclub, scanning the area to find Emma. Finally, in a dark corner, she saw Emma sitting alone.

"Let's go home."

Nancy approached Emma, saying a few words before hastily pulling her out of the nightclub in a somewhat dazed situation.

"Let's go."

"Aren't we staying a bit longer?" Emma curiously turned to Nancy.

Nancy frequently visited nightclubs, but every time she invited Emma to come along, Emma declined. Today, Emma came alone, surprising Nancy.

"You're acting strange today, and what's with these outfits? Who influenced you?"

"No one."

In the car, Nancy kept looking at Emma, perplexed. Emma's face remained expressionless as if nothing had happened. Emma was annoyed by David's teasing. Her intention was to have him attend her wedding and steal a kiss, while Emma would help him take over the William Corporation.

"Why the tense face? I just saw Mark back there."

"Where?"

Emma quickly reacted, and Nancy burst into laughter.

"He walked out of a restaurant."

"Oh, I see."

A deeper smile formed on Emma's lips as she received a call from Mark. He claimed he was on a business trip, but Emma knew he was just teasing and playing with her emotions. Emma wasn't as naive as before; she no longer believed in Mark. She knew that as long as she didn't marry Mark, there would be no tragedy.

"What's wrong? You reacted so strongly when Mark was mentioned."

"Nothing. Both families will meet this weekend to discuss the wedding."

"Oh, I thought you wanted to marry David. Your words the other day scared me."

Nancy couldn't help teasing. Emma was the one who mentioned wanting to marry David before their encounter with him.

"I didn't say I wanted to marry Mark either."

Nancy didn't quite understand the meaning behind Emma's words but didn't press for more details.
