Chapter 4 The Investigation

Ian acquiesced in William's decision.

William had confirmed with Tim that he didn't send any woman to the hotel.

Ian underestimated her. He didn't expect that she could escape. What a smart woman!

After a ten minutes drive, Rosaline found that nobody was following them, she couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. She asked the driver to drive to Newest Hotel, and then she closed her eyes to rest.

In the engagement party, the Clarkson family and the Clarkson family were holding an engagement party on the second floor.

Rosaline changed her clothes in the lounge. She put on some makeup to make her look completely different.

She had been pretending to be an ugly woman all the time. Last night, she didn't have time to disguise herself, so the man saw her real appearance.

But fortunately, in this way, she would not be found by that man if she continued to pretend to be ugly.

Rosaline's eyes fell on the garbage bag in the corner of the lounge.

She threw the man's suit into the garbage.

After dealing with everything, she pretended that nothing had happened and went to the second floor.

The engagement party was about to begin. But the fiance, Nathan still didn't show up.

Rosaline's grandpa Samuel Wilson's face was a little annoyed, and the expressions of the Petrelli family were a little complicated. Well, the rest of the Wilson family seemed to be gloating.

Rosaline kept her head down and stood by Samuel obediently. She did not realize the embarrassment in this situation.

Or it could be that she didn't care whether her future fiance would come or not. She didn't expect to marry into a rich and powerful family, or marry someone who had no feelings for her. She wanted to be free, and she wanted to control her own life.

She didn't like to live like this.

Suddenly, there was a commotion at the entrance of the second floor.

At first, everyone thought that Nathan had come, but they didn't expect that it was a police officer.

Everyone was dumbfounded. "What's going on? What make the police come to the engagement party?"

Ian followed the police to the second floor. He quietly walked into the banquet hall and passed by Rosaline.

The familiar scent on her body made him stunned. This was the smell of his cologne! It was a high-level limited edition. There were few people in Los Angeles who could get the same cologne!

He remembered that woman left in his suit this morning, and her body was probably stained with his cologne.

Could it be her, the elder daughter of the Wilson family?

Ian sneered. Things were getting more and more interesting.

Tim gave Ian a complicated look.

Tim had arranged the police to come here. To be exact, he had arranged it according to Ian's instructions.

"We received a call from a gentleman, he said his suit and bank card were lost. We had checked the monitor and found that the thief finally came to this hotel, so we have to have a private talk with everyone."

"Are you Rosaline Wilson?" A policeman walked straight up to Rosaline.

A faint smile crossed Ian's lips.

He wanted to see if it was her or not.

"Yes." Rosaline nodded. She calmly looked at the policeman in front of her, without any nervousness or fear.

Ian stared at her, he didn't want to miss any emotion on her face.  .

"Please tell me where were you from 10 pm. to 4 am., Miss Wilson?" The policeman asked.

As soon as the policeman appeared, she knew what they wanted. Such a direct question was beyond her doubt.

She knew there must be a person looking at her in the dark, waiting for her reaction.

He did all this in order to see the flaws in her reaction.

If she revealed even the slightest bit of unusualness at this moment, it was likely that she would not be able to escape...

He had made the police get involved in this. If he caught her, he wouldn't let her go easily.

Thinking of his terrifying and dangerous aura, a chill went through her heart.

At this moment, she felt as if she was walking on a cliff full of frost. If she was not careful, she would be smashed into pieces.

At this moment, Rosaline's heart was a little scared! Well she didn't dare to show any difference in her expression.

"Last night, I went to the Rambler Club to have a SPA, and then I went home to sleep."

Her answer was general and simple. The more simple her answer was, the less people could doubt it.

She remembered that she had been taken away from the back door last night. Few people knew about the back door of the Rambler Club, and there was no monitor. Even if they checked the monitor history, they could only see her entering.

Ian frowned his eyebrows slowly. He couldn't find any clues from her reaction.

Was it not her? Or was she too good at acting?

"Go to the Rambler Club." Ian looked at Rosaline in the distance and talked to William.

Although he couldn't find any clues, that didn't mean he believed what she said.

"Yes,Mr. Clarkson." William answered.

"Sir, we found Mr. Clarkson's suit and bank card from a trash can."

Tim nodded and sent a message to ask if Ian still wanted to investigate.

Ian thought for a moment and decided to end it. After all, he already had a answer in his heart.

Suddenly, the crowd became noisy.

"Miss Wilson, today is your engagement day with Nathan Petrelli, but Nathan hasn't shown up yet. We just got the news that Nathan and your cousin Katherine spent the whole night in a hotel. Do you know about this?" A reporter suddenly ran to Rosaline. His voice was loud enough to be heard by everyone in the hall.

His question was like a bomb and it exploded the crowd.
