Chapter 6 We Should Get a Divorce
Mia came to the hotel on time. During the whole meeting, Chuck kept staring at her, which made her uncomfortable. After the meal, they walked out of the Hilton Hotel.
Walking through the lobby, they saw waiters carrying bouquets of roses from outside. The petals were splashed with silver powder, shining brightly under the light, and the fragrance overflowed. It was obvious that they were all precious species.
Chuck, who was in the lead, stopped in his tracks.
Suddenly, he asked the two men, "Who is so generous today?"
The two waiters had been working in Hilton Hotel for a long time. So they definitely recognize Chuck. However, being suddenly asked such a question, especially at this moment when his face was cold, making them a little nervous. One of them said carefully, "It's Mr. Johnson, the president of the Johnson Group. He booked the first floor of our hotel today. I heard that he wants to celebrate the birthday of a model!"
Mia was stunned on the spot, and her eyes were fixed on the roses.
Those flowers were stunning. They were bought by her husband. Unfortunately, it was not meant for her.
In fact, Mia was already used to it after so many years. The women around Yannick had never stopped in the past two years, from celebrities to models to his assistant. He would rather kiss and make love to a woman he had never met than look at her.
Mia felt a little tired.
She felt as if her heart had plunged into a cold lake. At first, it caused ripples, but now, her heart had reached the bottom of the lake and could no longer stir up any waves.
That was it. She should end it here.
She did not need to let such a man trample on her heart unscrupulously for such a little affection. He would never have such a chance again.
He didn't deserve it!
"Mr. Holland, is there... anything else you need?"
The waiter asked carefully.
Chuck's gaze swept across Mia. He narrowed his eyes and then turned to look at the roses. "The flowers are not bad. It's a pity that it's given to the wrong person."
Mia was stunned, and then she felt Chuck's gaze on her.
Chuck laughed. "Roses should be given to a woman who looked like a rose, not a weed."
After that, he walked straight ahead.
Was he... talking for me?"
Mia felt her heart beating faster. When she looked at Chuck's tall figure, she was a little absent-minded.
Yannick had always been high-profile and popular with other women. He could be found in any gossip magazine with endless scandals.
Mia didn't know how she got home but felt so tired. She looked at her reflection and felt that person in the mirror was so strange.
It was said that a woman's best season in their life was when they were 24 years old. But at this time, her life was miserable.
In a daze, she thought of when she fell in love with Yannick.
Once, he hugged her under the bridge in front of the Bay. Under the starry sky, he kissed her on the forehead affectionately, saying he would cherish her.
Mia smiled and dozed off. When she woke up again, it was because of the strong lights in the room.
For two years, her sleep quality had not been very good.
"Yannick?" Her voice was hoarse. She slowly sat up and felt that her eyes were swollen and uncomfortable.
"Yes."
Yannick threw his suit with no expression. He seemed to notice that something was wrong with Mia. He frowned slightly and looked into her red and swollen eyes. "What happened?"
"Yannick, do you still remember when you gave me this ring?"
She slowly raised her left hand, on which there was a very simple silver ring, shining brightly under the dazzling light.
It was a small gift from Yannick before they got married.
Their relationship was not in this state when he gave her this ring. That night, they were going on a date. However, because of the company's affairs, he was late and missed the love movie.
Back then, she said it was fine.
So they gave up the movie and walked along the river of City S side by side.
At that time, many vendors ignored government rules, so many sold little toys there.
Mia felt very happy and took a fancy to this ring.
Speaking of this, it was funny. This ring was only 20 dollars. Any project Yannick handled was worth millions. Originally, he didn't take it seriously. But when he saw that Mia liked it, he took out his wallet to buy it for her and didn't forget to tease, "In the future, you'd better put this ring away in front of others. People might think I was being mean to you!"
After that, he seemed to feel that it was not enough. He held her hand and said, "No, I will buy you a big and shiny diamond ring tomorrow, so others know you will be my happiest bride in the future!"
Mia laughed happily at that time. She raised the ring that he had worn and said, "I don't care how shiny the ring is as long as they contain your feelings for me."
Yannick hugged her tightly and swore in her ear that he would be nice to her for the rest of his life.
He would be nice to her for the rest of his life...
Seeing that Yannick was also staring at the ring in a daze, he must have thought of the scene at that time. Suddenly, she calmed down. Then, she turned and looked out the window at the dark night. "Yannick, let's get a divorce."
