Chapter 9
No matter how loudly Celeste yelled, Andrew and Susan acted like they didn't hear a thing.
Watching them walk away, Celeste stomped her foot in frustration.
"Alexandra! Ever since you showed up, you stole all of Mom and Dad's love from me! I'll never forgive you!"
As they approached Aurelius Atelier, Lucas Miller greeted them with a big smile.
"Mr. Windsor and Mrs. Windsor are here!"
Lucas eagerly took Susan's hand. "I've been waiting for you guys forever!"
Andrew glanced at Lucas's hand, and Lucas quickly let go.
"Sorry about that. Mr. Windsor, Mrs. Windsor, what are we looking at today? I gotta tell you, the dress you liked last time just came in. I saved one for you. Wanna try it on?"
"Thanks, Lucas, but we're not shopping for me today," Susan said, turning to wave at Alexandra. "Alexandra, honey, come over here."
Lucas followed Susan's gaze to Alexandra and froze.
"This is my daughter, Alexandra. We're here to pick out some clothes, accessories, and stuff for her."
Susan warmly took Alexandra's hand. "Lucas, I know you have the best taste. I'm leaving her entire look in your hands today."
"Of course," Lucas said, still in shock as he looked at Alexandra, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Alexandra just smiled slightly, her expression calm and composed.
Lucas followed them into the store, his mind racing with confusion.
After all, Aurelius Atelier was a brand Alexandra had personally founded. Every piece of clothing, accessory, and bag was designed and overseen by her from start to finish.
The exquisite beauty of Aurelius Atelier's dresses had made them a favorite among wealthy women. In less than a year, the brand had risen to the top of the luxury market, surpassing many established names and becoming incredibly sought after.
Lucas owed his current status in the luxury industry to Alexandra. Wealthy clients trusted him because of her.
But how could his boss, Alexandra, be the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Windsor?
Lucas knew Andrew and Susan's background well. They were the richest couple in Redfield City and were famous nationwide.
But didn't they only have one daughter, Celeste?
So how could Alexandra be their daughter? Was she an illegitimate child?
That didn't make sense either. If Alexandra were an illegitimate child, Susan wouldn't be so warm and affectionate towards her.
Moreover, Susan had introduced Alexandra as their daughter. So Alexandra wasn't an illegitimate child; she was Andrew and Susan's daughter!
What on earth was going on?
Lucas felt like his head was about to explode. He looked at Alexandra, who just smiled calmly, showing no intention of explaining anything.
If Alexandra was indeed Andrew and Susan's biological daughter, she was a true heiress. Why would someone from such a wealthy family bother with creating a brand? How was an ordinary person like Lucas supposed to compete?
Alexandra had thought her recent designs would be enough to sustain Aurelius Atelier's sales for a year.
But Andrew and Susan, wanting to show their love and make up for lost time, decided to buy out the entire collection of dresses, accessories, and bags.
Susan even insisted that the styles they purchased should never be reproduced, and they paid a hefty fee for the exclusive rights.
This way, Alexandra could avoid any risk of someone else wearing the same outfit, even though Aurelius Atelier's pieces were already limited editions.
But Susan wanted something truly unique.
Lucas forced a smile. "Mrs. Windsor, please wait a moment. I need to get approval from our boss for this."
Susan, understanding that Lucas couldn't make such decisions on his own, nodded in agreement.
Lucas stepped back and pulled out his phone to make a call.
A moment later, Alexandra's phone rang. She immediately hung up, and Lucas heard the call disconnect.
It seemed Alexandra didn't want Susan and Andrew to know her true identity.
When Lucas returned, his smile was even more strained.
"Mrs. Windsor, our boss has approved it! I'll have everything packed up and sent to your home right away."
"Great."
Lucas turned to Alexandra. "You look very familiar. Do you know our boss?"
"No," Alexandra replied without hesitation, leaving Lucas even more awkward.
"I see."
"But you are very lucky to have such loving parents. All the dresses, accessories, and bags in our store are the result of our boss's hard work. They will look perfect on you!"
Despite Lucas's gritted teeth, Alexandra's expression remained unchanged.
"Is that so? Thank you for the compliment."
Their attention was soon diverted.
Susan gasped and rushed over to a light blue dress.
"Alexandra, look at this dress. It would look stunning on you!"
Susan took the dress from the display and held it up to Alexandra. "If you wore this to the gala with us, you'd be the belle of the ball!"
Andrew, not wanting to be outdone, picked up a scarf and draped it around Alexandra's neck. "I heard you girls love scarves. This one suits you perfectly!"
"Get out of the way, you fool!" Susan rolled her eyes and pushed Andrew aside. "Scarves are for older women! Alexandra is young; she should wear a necklace!"
"Alexandra, do you like that sapphire necklace? It would go perfectly with the blue dress!"
Susan hurriedly took the necklace and held it up to Alexandra's neck in front of the mirror.
Feeling ignored, Andrew quickly grabbed a new white handbag and hung it on Alexandra's wrist.
"Alexandra, how about this bag? Susan said she loved it, but it was sold out because Aurelius Atelier's products are limited editions. She searched high and low and finally managed to get this one! I think it suits you well."
