Chapter 3 Cremating Scumbags (3)
"Ah! My child Ah! You shameless bitch!"
I had just turned when Sangria tore off her disguise and jumped into my face, tugging madly at my collar.
"I told you to leave the body at the hospital. Why did you have to send it to the crematorium!"
"What’s your real motive? Will you only be satisfied after burning my son to ashes?"
Aaron rushed over to question me but was stopped by the crematorium staff.
I handed out the death certificate with a trembling hand, I wept, and I had a very innocent look on my face.
"But Tom already committed suicide. That Dr. Natalie told me herself and even issued me a death certificate."
"I love Tom so much, and I don’t want to accept the fact that I can’t wait to die with him!"
Aaron pressed on, not wanting to listen to my words. He banged on the crematorium door after kicking the staff out of the way.
"My son is not dead at all! Turn off the engine, or I’ll call the police!"
Through several layers of clear glass, Tom suddenly sat up inside.
Sangria screamed at once.
"My son is not dead!"
I was in shock. I shouldn’t have woken him up, should I?
Turning around, I saw the crematorium staff looking entirely composed as they consoled Tom’s parents.
"This is a normal reaction, caused by the body’s muscles being burned and causing contractions."
"We can understand how you and the families feel. Please calm down."
Secretly relieved, I cried and mourned, falling straight to my knees.
Sangria heard the sound, turned her head like a madman, and lunged at me.
"It’s all your fault. I’ll kill you!"
I continued to hold the death certificate out, sobbing and tearing up.
" Sangria, it’s my fault for not trying to talk Tom out of jumping off the building!"
" Let me die with him!"
I had just finished saying this when the sound of something heavy hitting the ground suddenly came from the doorway.
Natalie stood in the doorway and looked in shock at the burning furnace.
She didn’t even realize that her LV bag had fallen to the floor.
I saw Tom’s parents cry and grab Natalie like they had found a savior.
" Natalie, you’re the doctor who saved Tom. You know all about it!"
"I’m going to call the police to arrest Sheila, the murderer, so you tell the crematorium people that my son isn’t dead at all, that the death certificate is ......"
Natalie suddenly interrupted with an extremely high-pitched voice.
"How can he be alive? I watched him die!"
The two voices came to an abrupt halt, Natalie very seriously.
"How would I know what happened? Tom is dead, and that’s that!"
I would have believed it if I hadn’t seen her trembling hands.
If word gets out that Natalie injected her lover with drugs to fake his death, her life and career would be over.
What’s more, she had a hand in this fake death certificate.
She was afraid to tell the truth.
Tom’s parents, now completely dumbfounded, grabbed Natalie as she turned around, growling loudly.
"You can’t leave. Explain it clearly!"
Natalie tore straight away from the two older impatiently.
"Tom’s about to be reduced to ashes in the furnace. How much clearer do you want me to be?"
She picked up her bag from the floor and turned around.
