Chapter 4 Hidden Love

Even though she had disobeyed his secret orders, Nicholas kept his emotions in check.

Sophie and Catherine's attention should return from the men to Elsa.

"Have you forgotten what happened earlier? In the Ninth Neighborhood, three bums pestered you, and luckily, you got away when a cop on patrol passed by. The Ninth Neighborhood is dangerous every night! Who knows if your luck will always be that good? Sophie and I will be apprehensive about you." Catherine was also apprehensive about Elsa, and her voice got slightly louder.

"Please, ladies, don't be so loud." Elsa looked embarrassed, her head lowering a bit more, and she bit her lip as if she was afraid someone would hear them.

"I don't know what you were thinking to say yes to that bitch" Sophie said, growling, taking a hard bite of her spaghetti.

Nicholas had stopped eating as if in a daze.

As Nicholas's closest friend, Hugh raised his eyes to glance at him absently, an imperceptible smile playing at the corner of his mouth before pretending not to see anything and continuing to eat.

Elsa was in a bit of a foul mood and told Sophie and Catherine in a tiny voice, "Do you guys want the whole world to know that I'm working the late shift for a friend? It's just a late shift, so it’s no big deal. You guys are overreacting."

Catherine recovered first, took a sip of milk, and said, "Dear Elsa, there is no need for you to waste your time on late shifts. It would help if you enjoyed your youth, like getting a boyfriend. There must be many boys who would like to ask you out if you are willing."

Sophie ate the last spaghetti and carefully wiped her mouth. "Catherine's right. Why don't I find you a therapist? It's about time your frigidity was treated." Sophie's mind was jumpy, and her words were always surprising.

Nicholas' expression became strange as he continued to eat, but the meal on his plate seemed to be becoming less flavorful.

Elsa's face reddened with embarrassment, "First of all, I'm not frigid. I have a normal sexual orientation; secondly, I don't want a boyfriend right now. I have my reasons; thirdly, please keep your voice down."

Catherine collected herself a little and continued to drink her milk. But Sophie was still moping as if she was the aggrieved one.

Elsa was no longer in the mood to continue eating and could only pick up her plate and prepare to leave, "Ladies, I'm done."

Sophie and Catherine don't want to stay on either and leave with Elsa. Only Catherine was smitten with her favorite Hugh as she stood up.

Elsa stole her first peek out of the corner of her eye at Nicholas' side as she left, and he did nothing but stare at his plate and eat absently as if nothing had happened.

Elsa lied to her friends. It wasn't that she didn't want a boyfriend, but that she already had one. For some reason, she couldn't talk about it.

Even if she said it, they probably wouldn't believe that Elsa's boyfriend was Nicholas Sanders.

The Nicholas Sanders who carries shade on his body and catches the eyes of countless women wherever he goes.

But Elsa couldn't talk about it, and that unspoken romantic relationship had constantly tormented her.

She couldn’t decide whether she wanted to get rid of it or go public.

She was like a kite, seemingly floating free in the sky, but the kite string was in Nicholas's hands and could only be controlled.

Elsa is a little lost, wondering if the romantic relationship with Nicholas still exists.

It was a strange feeling. She didn't like being controlled by the strong Nicholas, especially when he tied her to the bed and fucked her like crazy. She felt comfortable, aroused, and a little ashamed; she had thought about getting rid of him.

But when Nicholas stopped controlling her and even acted indifferent to her at the restaurant, she was uncomfortable again.

Elsa still missed him because he would have been gentle with her, too. He would have kissed every inch of skin on her body, fucked her slowly and gently, made her orgasm in various positions, and then held her in his arms as she fell asleep.

Nicholas said she was his most precious treasure.

She'd believed it, but sometimes not entirely.

Elsa, who was always sensitive when she was in love, once suspected that she had Stockholm Syndrome!

A few days passed quickly, and everything in Elsa's life went on as usual: classes, day job, night job……

She expected that Nicholas would interfere with her life and prevent her from working the evening shift, but that didn't happen.

She had the illusion that she had fallen out of love, that the man who glowed no longer cared about her.

Should she spend the next few days grieving for her abandonment, or should she be grateful to be free again?
