Chapter 1

The pain of shattered bones spread throughout her body, and Aurora Smith suddenly sat up in bed, gasping for breath. Everything buried deep in her memory resurfaced in her mind.

She had really been reborn.

Calming herself, she let out a long breath, a slight smile forming at the corner of her mouth. It was good to have another chance.

Slowly climbing out of bed, she walked to the wardrobe, picked out a brightly colored outfit, and then opened the door to go out.

On the stairs, she happened to run into Michael Johnson, who was returning from outside. They locked eyes for a second, and his brows instantly furrowed as he spoke, "You're home? Why didn't you answer when the servants knocked?"

Aurora looked at him indifferently and said, "Because I didn't want to."

Michael, the son of the Johnson family, was her biological brother and also her nominal agent.

Hearing her words, Michael's frown deepened, and his tone was full of disgust, "Even if you want to be willful, there should be a limit. This is the Johnson Villa, not the countryside. You need to follow the Johnson family rules."

Aurora sneered, "Rules? After all these years, no one has ever taught me what the Johnson family rules are. I get it, being a slave to the Johnson family is the rule, right?"

Michael's face turned even uglier at her retort, and he couldn't help but raise his voice, "It's just about giving Bianca a chance. When did we ever make you a slave? You live in such a nice house, with servants taking care of you, and you're still not satisfied?"

Aurora's face instantly turned cold, and she said in an icy tone, "This time, the director specifically asked for me. Even if I don't go, I won't give the opportunity to anyone else."

"If Bianca Johnson wants to go, she can talk to the director herself."

She was originally the youngest daughter of the Johnson family, but she got lost when she was four years old. It wasn't because she wandered off; it was because her brother, who was playing, forgot about her.

Later, her mother couldn't bear the blow and adopted a little girl who looked somewhat like her to replace her as the Johnson family's daughter.

By chance, the Johnson family found her last year and made a big deal of bringing her back. She originally thought the Johnson family cared about their biological daughter, but it turned out that their kindness was just for show.

The Johnson family always sided with Bianca and constantly suppressed and belittled her.

Whatever Bianca wanted, she had to give it to her. Otherwise, she was considered unreasonable and not considerate of her sister.

But in reality, she and Bianca had no blood relation; Bianca was never her sister.

Before returning to the Johnson Villa, she worked tirelessly, taking on acting roles, even filming in freezing water at four degrees Fahrenheit for hours. She worked so hard to achieve a bit of success.

After being found by the Johnson family, Michael, claiming it was for her career, forced her to switch to the Johnson family's agency, with Michael as her agent.

When Bianca found out, she also demanded to act and signed with the Johnson family's agency almost simultaneously.

Whenever there were good resources, Michael's first thought was always Bianca. The resources Aurora received were sometimes even worse than when she first started acting.

She knew she couldn't rely on Michael. This time, she had finally secured a spot as a guest on a popular variety show through her own efforts. When Bianca found out, she repeatedly pestered Michael, trying to get her to give up the opportunity.

When Michael couldn't persuade her, he had the whole family try to convince her. When that didn't work, they started to force and belittle her.

Aurora was so angry that she locked herself in her room and ignored anyone who knocked.

"This time, give the spot to Bianca. There's a good TV drama looking for a lead actress in the next few days. I'll help you get it," Michael said, softening his tone, seemingly helpless, but his words made Aurora want to laugh.

"If it's so good, why not let Bianca go?"

Aurora didn't believe Michael would give her any good resources. Even if it was good, he would end up giving it to Bianca.

Did Michael really think she was so stupid that she would believe anything he said?

Without waiting for Michael to say anything else, Aurora walked past him and went downstairs, soon followed by the sound of a door closing.

Michael was furious, looking in the direction of the villa door, clenching his fists, "Aurora's temper is really spoiled. She doesn't listen at all, unlike Bianca, who is so obedient."

Aurora stood outside the villa door, glancing back at the villa with a hint of sarcasm in her eyes.

She had always longed for love and the warmth of a family. In her previous life, after being found, she constantly gave in, no matter how excessive Bianca was. As long as her mother said a few kind words and her brothers frowned, she didn't mind, fearing to upset her family.

As long as it was for the good of her family, she could endure any hardship and tolerate any grievance, living a life even worse than a servant.

But in the end, the Johnson family still thought she was ungrateful and scolded her for not being appreciative. In their eyes, she could never compare to Bianca.

Until the end, when she was stalked and kidnapped, pushed from a building, the Johnson family was still busy fussing over Bianca's sprained ankle.

She still remembered the feeling of her bones shattering when she fell from the building.

The so-called family affection of the Johnson family, she no longer wanted it.

Maybe she was too pitiful. After her death, she accidentally activated a system, continuously completing tasks to get a chance to live again.

However, her original lifespan was too short, with only a brief life line.

Even if she lived another life, she didn't have much time left. To live longer, she had to change her original fate. As long as she gained more people's affection, she could extend her life line.

The longer the life line, the longer she would live.

Thinking of this, Aurora withdrew her gaze and turned to leave. After a while, she returned with several documents.

When she entered, the Johnson family had already finished breakfast and were sitting in the living room. Seeing her return, their faces simultaneously darkened.

Aurora pretended not to see them, spreading the documents on the coffee table in front of them.

"Sign these if there are no issues."

Aurora stood aside, placing a pen on each document and a bank card on the side.

The documents were about her guardianship, a total of six, all signed by her.

The bank card was given to her by her father when she first returned to the Johnson Villa, saying it was "pocket money." She hadn't spent a penny, but every time they belittled her, they would add, "We spend money to support you, and this is how you repay us?"

Her mother picked up one of the documents, glanced at it, and stood up from the sofa in anger, "What nonsense are you up to now? Do you have to make a mess of the house to be happy?"

Aurora looked at her mother expressionlessly, her voice devoid of any emotion, "Isn't this what you've always wanted? I'm just following your wishes."

Michael picked up his guardianship document, tore it to pieces, and threw it in Aurora's face, "I just asked you to give Bianca a chance, and you threaten us with severing ties? How can you be so unreasonable?"

Aurora sneered, casually brushing off the paper scraps from her head, and continued, "Do you think this is a powerful bargaining chip? Do you think I'm so cheap that I would use something insignificant to threaten you? Ridiculous."

Her third brother, Aiden Johnson, looked at her with a mocking expression, "You just don't want Bianca to have a chance to succeed, afraid she'll outshine you, so you came up with this idea, right?"

Her fourth brother, Chase Johnson, also scolded, "Aurora, you just can't stand seeing the family doing well. You've picked up so many bad habits in the countryside, and only we tolerate them. Apologize to Mom, give the spot to Bianca, and this will be over."

Bianca hadn't said a word from the beginning, just sitting on the sofa with a smug look at Aurora.

In this family, Bianca never needed to say or do anything. Whatever she wanted or wanted to do, her five brothers would do it for her.

Aurora glanced at Chase and sneered, "No need. I'm just informing you today. I don't care what you think."

"From now on, we have nothing to do with each other. My last name is Smith, not Johnson."

Aurora finished speaking and walked out without waiting for their reaction, "From now on, no one in your family will cause trouble. It will definitely be peaceful."
