Chapter 4: Chance Encounter

"Michael said you need to give up your spot as a guest on the variety show, so I'm calling to confirm."

Andrew's voice was indifferent, making it hard to tell if he was happy or sad.

"So, do you want me to give it up or not?"

Aurora deliberately played coy. In her previous life, to please the Johnson family and under Andrew's persuasion, she eventually gave the opportunity to Bianca.

Michael did keep his word and gave her another resource, but it was a mediocre role.

It didn't help her at all. The film was terrible, had no recognition, and was eventually forced to stop shooting because it didn't pass the review.

As for Bianca, she took the opportunity she snatched from Aurora, went for a pure and innocent image, and became very popular.

What made Aurora even angrier was that Andrew was also invited to participate in the variety show, and as his girlfriend, she only found out after the show aired.

The two of them were very flirtatious on the show, and you could feel the chemistry through the screen. But because Andrew and Michael were classmates, she didn't think much of it.

Later, by chance, she did get a good opportunity to join a film crew, and Andrew would visit her on set from time to time, so she gradually put the matter behind her.

It was also a blessing from God that her commendable acting skills were recognized by the audience, and she was nominated for Best Actress. Unfortunately, she was kidnapped before the award ceremony.

Her last call for help was to Finn, but he was only concerned about Bianca. When she called Andrew, she heard Bianca's affected voice on the other end, and she realized they were together.

Before she could feel sad, she was pushed off the roof and fell to her death.

Thinking back now, Andrew probably knew Bianca from the beginning, and she was the only one kept in the dark.

"Michael means you should give it up. He'll give you a better resource. I think you should give it up."

Andrew spoke with a slightly commanding tone, without a hint of hesitation.

"You're right, I should give it up. But I think I should give up something else, not this spot."

Aurora sneered, "Should I give you up to her too?"

"What nonsense are you talking about? She's your sister. How could I be with her?"

Andrew's previously indifferent tone instantly became agitated, as if he had been exposed.

"I don't have such a shameless sister. Are you trying to say you only see her as a sister and I'm overthinking it?"

In her previous life, Aurora was too foolish, placing too much importance on this stupid relationship. Now she didn't care anymore and just wanted these disgusting people out of her life.

"What are you talking about? If you don't want to give up the variety show spot, then don't. There's no need to make a fuss."

Andrew was completely anxious, but Aurora calmly said, "Andrew, listen carefully. We're breaking up."

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the line. Just as Aurora was about to hang up, Andrew's voice came back.

"Why? Just because I said you should give up the variety show opportunity? I'm doing it for your own good. Don't be unreasonable."

Aurora listened to Andrew's voice. To say she wasn't sad would be a lie. After all, in her previous life, she didn't receive much warmth, and he did give her a bit of care. But now she understood and felt more disgusted than anything else.

"I'm not joking, Andrew. It's me who doesn't want you anymore. Do you understand?"

Aurora said calmly.

In her previous life, no matter how much her parents and brothers made her sad, she didn't mind because at least someone loved her and treated her well.

But she didn't expect that the person she cared about the most would hurt her the deepest.

If Andrew had made it clear when she confessed her feelings, instead of being ambiguous, she wouldn't have said anything. At worst, they could just be friends.

But he enjoyed her kindness while being ambiguous with Bianca. Truly hateful.

"Aurora, if you don't want to give it up, then don't. There's no need to use breaking up to threaten me. Feelings are not a joke."

"Yes, feelings are not a joke. Your feelings are trash, and trash belongs in the trash can. Don't bother me."

Aurora hung up the phone, then blocked and deleted Andrew, removing all his contact information from her phone.

After doing all this, Aurora continued cleaning, working up a sweat. After cleaning, she felt much lighter.

In the evening, just as she brought out the salad she made from the kitchen, her phone rang again.

It was a friend calling, suggesting she check the entertainment news.

Aurora opened the webpage and immediately understood. The Johnson Group had issued a statement saying they were terminating her contract.

The Johnson Group was one of the top entertainment agencies. By publicly announcing this, they were trying to suppress her so that no other agency would dare to sign her, forcing her to beg the Johnson family.

Thinking she would go back to beg them? Wishful thinking.

Aurora closed her phone and sat down to enjoy her dinner. If no agency dared to sign her, she would just start her own company.

Fortunately, in her previous life, when she needed her passport, Bianca tried everything to prevent her from going home. Eli only went through the motions and didn't actually take her passport to the Johnson family, so her passport was still with her.

The next day, Aurora got up early, got ready, and went out with her documents. After a morning of running around, she finally registered her studio.

Once everything was ready, she called the director of the variety show to confirm that her spot as a guest was not affected, and then she felt relieved.

In the following days, Aurora stayed in her house, catching up on knowledge about running a company.

During this time, the Johnson family made a couple of pretentious calls, which she mocked and then blocked.

One day, Aurora took her documents to the show, and when she came out, she ran into Michael and Bianca, along with Finn.

The three of them looked visibly uncomfortable when they saw her. Aurora pretended not to see them and turned to leave, but Bianca called out to her.

"Aurora, are you here to see the show crew too?"

Aurora paused and instantly understood. "What's the matter? Do you have another spot? Whose spot did you take this time?"

"Aurora, you misunderstood. It's not taken. Michael talked to the director and got Finn and me on the show. The crew agreed."

Bianca smiled smugly. Aurora glanced at Finn, feeling like she had been force-fed garbage.

Finn was the newly crowned Best Actor. Any show with him would naturally attract a lot of viewers, so the crew would welcome him.

It turned out that without her spot, Bianca could still find a way to get on the show. So why did the Johnson family insist on her spot? How shameless!
