The reveal
Chapter 3
20 years later, Tina (FL)was released from prison, as she stepped out of the prison gates, blinking in the bright sunlight. She could feel her age walking past her. Twenty years had passed, yet the pain still felt like yesterday. The memories lingered, refusing to fade. Sadness filled her mood having to serve time in prison while the other person walks free
As she walked toward her Mom's waiting car, Tina's eyes narrowed to the familiar streets. Everything looked different now, yet nothing had changed.
"Welcome home, sweetie," her mother, Lauren, whispered, embracing Tina tightly, forcing her tears back, and so did her sister, Purple.
Tina's eyes welled up with tears. "Mom..."
Lauren's voice was soft. "We're glad you're home."
The drive to her Mom’s house was quiet, each lost in their thoughts.
Upon arrival, Tina's determination solidified. "Mom, I need to go to my old house. To mourn Alex, one last time."
Lauren's expression turned sympathetic. "Tina,(FL) are you sure?"
Tina nodded. "I need closure."
Lauren hesitated before nodding. "Let's go."
As they approached Tina's matrimonial home, Tina's heart ached. Memories flooded her mind – laughter, tears, and the fateful night when her world went upside down
"You guys should wait here," Tina said, exiting the car.
She walked toward the house, her footsteps echoing. The dusty door opened, revealing the familiar hallway.
Tina's eyes wandered, taking in the unchanged environment and designs and her decorations. Her favorite place in the house was the window due to the beautiful view every morning when the sun rose. The kitchen, where Alex's life was taken, seemed frozen in time. She could still picture the whole scenario and butterflies running in her stomach as she remembered the sensational intimacy there that night; unknowingly, for her, it was the last at that moment.
A sob escaped her lips as she entered the room. Tears streamed down her face.
"Alex," she whispered, "I'm sorry. I should have protected you."
Tina's gaze fell upon a faded wedding photo on the counter. She and Alex, smiling, happy with her showing off her diamond ring to the photographer and her friends behind.
A fresh wave of grief washed over her.
Suddenly, a faint noise caught her attention. A piece of paper on the floor.
Tina picked it up; Tina could hear her heart beating so fast, unable to decide to check what was in the Paper at that moment.
She envisioned Dr. Martin's smirk as he stood over Alex's lifeless body.
Tina collapsed to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. Her hands trembled as she spotted Alex's phone under the cupboard. She quickly hid it, aware that the house was still a crime scene.
As she stood up, her gaze fell upon Alex's diary on the fridge, looking dusty. She grabbed it and left.
Back at her own home, Tina plugged in the phone, and it roared to life surprisingly! Missed calls and voice messages flooded the screen. Her heart sank. Truly, Alex had been hiding something, she murmured.
Tina listened to the messages more than she could count, her world crumbling, her heart racing, she loved Alex so much, she missed talking to him, holding him, even his my smiles, but she soon realized that Alex had a child,
Tina's eyes widened with shock and disappointment, as she couldn't believe what she just heard from the voice message
The diary revealed more shocking truths: Alex knew Dr. Martin and Alex was investigating his shady past.
Dr. Martin's(ML) manipulation became clear. He had used Tina to get to Alex, killing him to cover his tracks.
Lexis, Alex's baby mama, had been Dr. Martin's patient, and he had forced her into seducing Alex to launder money through his company and also to divert his attention from doing a paternity test on both of them and not investigating the death of his mother. But Lexie got pregnant and fell in love with Alex knowing he was married.
Tina's (FL)memories of her sessions with Dr. Martin now seemed tainted. He had gained her trust, manipulating her into revealing intimate details about Alex and her marriage.
How foolish was she? She grinned in her teeth while sobbing uncontrollably. Tina soon discovered more shocking things as she saw DNA results inside the diary. She wondered why Dr. Martin's DNA results would be in her house and why Alex would have them together in his diary.
She opened the DNA results only to see Dr Martins's name printed alongside Alex's, and it was a 99.9% match. Tina's heart was racing, and her hands were trembling, knowing that Dr Martin was Alex's Father. The man who destroyed their lives
Tina's curiosity grew, she wanted to get to the bottom of the problem, as she searched for more things inside the diary
Overwhelmed, she wondered why Alex didn't tell her all this; why did he keep this secret from her, she asked herself.
Alex was investigating Dr. Martin because he raped his mother while she was in therapy with him, which resulted in pregnancy, but she ran away for fear for her life, only for Dr. Martin to track her down and kill her when she gave birth to Alex just to cover his tracks. Alex also discovered Lexie was planted to destroy his marriage and to help Dr martins achieve his goals, but he caught her on time, only for her to disappear after giving birth to his child and was later pronounced missing because Dr martins kidnapped and killed her, her body was nowhere to be found, so Alex took the baby to Orphanage home waiting for the right time to tell Tina before his demise.
Tina's heart sunk inside her chest; what a despicable act had she known, she murmured again. She wondered what Alex went through being raised in a foster home as a baby, going through all this all alone, and still losing his life due to her mistake, she blamed herself again " I would have let things be the way they were she said" with sobbing voice
Tina was furious. So She decided to confront Dr. Martins
