Chapter 6
In the room, Victoria's face was deathly pale. His fingers invaded her once again, and her body experienced indescribable sensations. Even though Edward had been bedridden for a month and crippled, her strength was still no match for his.
Victoria closed her eyes, her fingers trembling slightly. She did have a backup plan, but using it would only make things worse.
She felt a bit desperate. "I really have nothing to do with Marcus!"
Edward's mockery was undisguised.
The physical and mental humiliation was unbearable for Victoria. She suddenly opened her eyes, meeting Edward's gaze before he could look away.
She asked, "If you really arouse my desire and can't satisfy me, would you still be interested?"
Edward was stunned.
The next second, Victoria had already escaped from under him. The intimate position just now made her pull away abruptly, withdrawing her sensitive cunt from his fingers, and she couldn't help but shiver.
Victoria didn't even bother to fix her clothes and fled in a panic.
Edward finally came to his senses. He didn't stop her from leaving, but as he recalled her last words, he couldn't help but sneer. "A cornered rat will bite the cat."
He couldn't satisfy her? He wondered what she would look like begging for mercy under him.
Thinking of this, Edward felt his body grew even hotter.
Victoria was right about one thing. Teasing her didn't make him feel any better either.
He shifted his attention and picked up his phone.
A recent email from Caleb was prominently displayed. Edward frowned as he opened it, and his expression grew increasingly serious.
The next day, Victoria, with dark circles under her eyes, went downstairs for breakfast, feeling quite embarrassed.
Aurora was already waiting in the dining room and immediately called out, "Victoria, come have breakfast. See if you like these. If not, just tell Lila what you want to eat."
Lila smiled and added, "Yes, let me know your preferences, and I'll keep them in mind when cooking."
Victoria couldn't help but tear up. At the Davis Villa, Amara didn't care about her, and the Davis family's servants naturally didn't treat her well. Looking at the variety of breakfast items, she choked up. "I'm not picky!"
Aurora felt both comforted and heartbroken.
"Silly girl, here you can be as picky as you want. Eat whatever you like."
Victoria felt even more like crying.
Lila reminded her in time, "Mrs. Aurora Hamilton, it's getting late for Mrs. Victoria Hamilton to visit her family."
Aurora snapped back to reality and pulled Victoria to sit down. "Just eat a little for now, and later tell Lila what you like."
Victoria didn't dare delay. She wasn't eager to go home, just worried about Elodie.
Aurora assumed she was eager to go home, feeling even more guilty. "Victoria, it's our fault. On such an important day, Edward can't accompany you. Please don't blame him, okay?"
"Mom, it's okay. I can go by myself," Victoria hurriedly said, still swallowing her milk, afraid Aurora would feel so guilty she'd cry.
Aurora praised her for being considerate.
It wasn't until she was in the car heading back to the Davis Villa that Victoria breathed a sigh of relief.
Having a loving mother could be a hassle, but this sweet trouble was something she had never experienced with Amara.
Aurora had prepared many gifts for her return home, and Victoria saw the jealousy in Thalia's eyes when she saw them.
Thalia must think she didn't deserve them.
However, when Thalia confirmed that Edward hadn't come home with her, she immediately became smug.
"Mom, I told you, you don't have that kind of luck. Your son-in-law wouldn't come to see you."
Declan Davis immediately scolded, "Thalia, don't talk nonsense."
Then, he looked at Victoria with a fatherly expression. "Victoria, don't mind her. You know Thalia is straightforward. She's just worried about you, angry that your husband didn't come with you."
Victoria didn't even bother to lift her eyelids. She sneered. "If she cares so much, why didn't she marry him?"
Declan's face changed.
Before he could speak, Amara had already started cursing, "You wretched girl, how can you be so vicious? Just because you're unhappy, you want Thalia to be unhappy too? Let me tell you, Thalia will definitely marry the promising Marcus, so stop being jealous."
Amara's words were like needles stabbing Victoria's heart.
Declan continued his pretense. "Alright, they're sisters and they should support each other. If Thalia does well, Victoria couldn't be left out. By the way, Victoria, you should help Thalia. I heard you got the project..."
"Where's Elodie?" Victoria impatiently interrupted him.
Declan was displeased and wanted to say more when a cry came from the basement. "Victoria."
Victoria looked over excitedly, seeing a small figure almost crawling from the basement. She couldn't hold back her tears. "Elodie."
She wanted to rush over but was held back by Thalia.
The next second, Declan changed his face. He shouted angrily, "The fool can't even watch a child."
He rushed over and picked up the small Elodie from the ground.
Declan dropped his pretense. "If you want to take Elodie, give me the project transfer papers first!"
"Let Elodie go." Victoria tried to negotiate.
Declan was unwilling. "Stop talking nonsense. Give me the papers."
Victoria frowned, and Thalia spoke up, "You wouldn't be lying to us, would you? Don't you even have the transfer papers?"
Hearing this, Declan was so angry he almost let go.
"No, I'll give it to you now!" Victoria shouted anxiously. She quickly searched her bag. The next moment, a scalpel was pressed against Thalia's face. "Let Elodie go, or I can't guarantee what will happen to her face!"
"You wretched girl, how dare you threaten me?" Declan tightened his grip.
Elodie started breathing heavily. "Victoria!"
Victoria's hand trembled slightly. Unexpectedly, while she hesitated, Amara seized the opportunity and knocked the scalpel from her hand.
Seeing Thalia out of danger, Declan immediately threw Elodie away.
"No!" Victoria crawled over, but Elodie still landed on the ground with a thud.
"Bitch, how dare you threaten me?" Declan's eyes turned red.
He picked up the fallen scalpel and was about to slash Victoria's face.
Victoria tightly held Elodie, closing her eyes in resignation.
"Let's see who dares to touch her!"
A thunderous roar echoed.
