Chapter 4

Angelina-

"Angelina, wake up. You'll be late!"

I groaned in my sleep when my mother called me from downstairs. I ignored her and pulled the pillow over my ears to mute her voice.

I heard her call me twice and then she screamed,

"Angelina Patrick! If you don't get your ass down, I'll personally come up and pull you by your ears!"

My eyes shot open at her angry voice. When my mother calls us by our full name it means she's done being good and will soon turn into the dangerous mom.

Letting out an irritated groan, I got up from my bed and headed toward the shower. After a quick hot shower, I chose to wear a simple white dress and then strode down. I always preferred wearing simple outfits. I didn't have any glamorous figure to show up so I never thought about what to wear.

I looked at myself and smiled. It did look good on me. Applying a hint of make-up, I went downstairs.

As soon as I entered the kitchen the sweet aroma of pancakes filled my nostrils and my stomach growled in hunger.

"Good morning mom!" I greeted her and then kissing her cheek, I sat down.

"Good morning honey." She smiled. "Lexi will be here soon. I won't be there to pick you up so don't forget to ask her for the ride."

"Yeah, mom-uh-well tonight I'll be late. Mr. Peterson wants me to stay up at work because Linda can't makeup and they seem to have some sort of party."

She thought about it for a moment and then nodded. "Okay. Don't be too late." she reminds me. I smiled and ate my breakfast.

I was almost done when I saw Lexi's message pop up

I am here.

"Mom, Lexi's here. I have to go. Bye, love you!"

"Bye honey, stay safe." I closed the door behind me and walked out. I grinned at my best friend who looked amazing as ever.6

"Good morning." I greeted her as I got in the car.

She was staring outside the car which was parked across the street. I waved my hand to snap her out of her thoughts. She blinked her eyes and then smiled, "Hey Angelina. You ready to go?"

"Yeah, I am. But what's up with you? You look a bit worried!" I asked her.

"Look over there—" she said pointing to the other side. "Isn't that the same care you were talking about earlier?"

My face paled.

It was the same car which I saw yesterday. The car was parked in the same place. My heartbeats quickened and I moved my eyes away. "Forget about it, Lexi. It might be some other car." She nodded and started driving.

I tried to calm myself along the ride but my mind seemed to disagree. I kept glancing outside to see whether the car was following me. The feeling of being stalked was making me nervous. I never liked attention in my life. I was always the silent and reserved type of girl. It made me run over hills when all those eyes were hooded upon me. I just hoped that whoever it was, would soon realize that I am way too boring and get tired of me.

"It's been 5 minutes that we're here and you're still sitting in the car worrying about how the world is going to end," Lexi said rolling her eyes.

I then realized that she had already parked the car and was waiting impatiently for me to head out. "Sorry, I just zoned out a little," I said apologetically.
