6. Drama Queen

The lively birthday event then turned exciting when Julia's voice caught the attention of the guests. The woman looked very angry at Calvin according to her plan. She wants Calvin to get into trouble, be blamed by everyone, and end up getting fired from his job.

“Don't you have eyes! What if you hurt my leg!” said Julia angrily.

Calvin was silent, all the attention seemed to be on him. Apologizing is the best way to avoid trouble, but seeing Julia being annoying, he chose to remain silent and started cleaning up the broken glass on the floor.

“You see that, he didn't even apologize! It turns out that apart from being poor, he is also mute!” Julia sneered even more evilly.

Calvin is very emotional, but he's too lazy to deal with this annoying woman who always makes fun of him.

“Why are you silent? You should apologize! Call your manager, let him fire you!” added Imelda, who seemed to support Julia's bad attitude.

Timothy and Jonas looked so enthusiastic that they didn't stop themselves from watching the bad behavior of their two friends. The guests were seen starting to gather, and other classmates started arguing, as did other guests.

"I'm sorry," said Calvin, not wanting to cause trouble.

"What? I didn't hear it!" Julia shouted even more arrogantly.

"I'm sorry, Julia," Calvin answered.

"How dare you call me just by my name, you should call me, Miss!" she said, increasingly looking for trouble.

Timothy and Jonas chuckled, but Jin Hao came and started to mediate.

"What's wrong, Calvin?" he asked.

"He dropped a dirty plate, and it almost hit my leg. What if the glass shards hit me? I could get hurt!" said Julia.

"Is it really like that, Calvin?" Jin Hai whispered in Chinese.

“No, she was the one who pushed my tray and dropped my plate. "She just wants you to fire me, they are my friends at the college, Jin Hai," Calvin answered in Chinese too.

“Hey, what are you guys talking about!” Julia snapped.

"It's his fault, Miss. Please enjoy your party, I will punish him," said Jin Hai.

"Great! Suck to be you, Calvin!” said Julia, who finally left with her friends.

"So now I will be punished?" asked Calvin.

"Nope, I just saved you,"

"Thank you, Jin,"

“It's okay. If you're done cleaning, join Bao Yu in the kitchen. "I don't want them to play pranks on you anymore," said Jin Hai, who was just putting on a drama so that Calvin wouldn't get into trouble.

"Yes, Sir!"

Jin Hai smiled, he felt sorry for him.

The event went lively, but Calvin was no longer seen because he was helping the kitchen team cook the food.

“Daddy told me that you needed to go to the kitchen, right? Is it because your friends bother you?” Bao Yu asked.

“Yup, that's what they are like. "Rich kids, I didn't expect this to be a party for one of my seniors at college," explained Calvin.

“Do they often bully you?”

“Yup, that's it. They never considered me a friend. "It seems like money has blinded their hearts," answered Calvin.

"Be patient for now, and be stronger in the future, Calvin," said Bao Yu while getting a cold drink to give to her friend.

"Yes, I will, thank you, Bao,"

“Come help me cook! We have to hurry!”

"Okay!"

Calvin, who is quite good at cooking, helps as a cook helper in the kitchen. Even though he was new, Calvin was quite skilled, which made Jin Hai and Bao Yu feel respect for him.

The busy guests gradually quieted down, there were no annoying friends anymore. Calvin and the other restaurant crew immediately cleaned up all the equipment used by the party, but someone greeted them instead.

“Calvin! Is that you?” calls a girl.

Calvin turned his head and didn't expect to see the figure of a beautiful woman wrapped in a luxurious dress in front of him.

“Amity, you are invited too?” Calvin asked.

“Yeah, everyone in Theodore is invited, right, and you?” Amity looked at the clothes Calvin was wearing.

It looked like the man was doing odd jobs, his sleeves were folded up carrying a box containing dirty dishes, and the apron he was wearing said it all.

“You work part-time? At William's party?” Amity asked in surprise.

“Yeah, I wasn't invited, Amity. "My boss said there was a party and I didn't know it was William's party," explained Calvin.

"Oh, I see? "It's very strange, even though William invited all the students in his department without exception. Are you sure you didn't receive an invitation," said Amity, as if she knew.

"I don't think so, Amity, I wasn't invited. "I'm not a rich student, so I can understand that," Calvin answered.

"Oh no! My brother is not that kind of man! He will invite everyone, without exception!” said Amity unexpectedly.

“William is your brother?” asked Calvin, surprised.

"Yes, that is so!"

"Wow, so you could say you're the mayor's daughter?" Calvin asked to confirm.

"So true!"

Calvin was quite surprised to hear Amity's statement, but a man who approached her was able to explain everything. He is William, a man who is throwing a birthday party and is famous on campus.

"What's wrong, Amity?” William asked.

"Hey, William. He's my friend, but you didn't invite him," explained Amity.

"Who?"

"His name is Calvin, he is a student majoring in business economics, just like you,"

"I have given a mass invitation to every class administrator, it applies to everyone," explained William.

“You heard that! My brother invited everyone. "It's probably just your friend who didn't tell you," guessed Amity.

Calvin was silent, he remembered that the class president at his place was Timothy, who could explain everything. It was the man who didn't want Calvin to come.
