5. Saviour pt.2
Before she could talk herself out of it she bolted to those large sliding doors leading to her backyard, wasting no time as she turned left and crossed the strip of grass separating the two houses. Hers and her neighbour's.
Heart pounding, she skidded to a halt in front of his back door. Thickly swallowing before she rapped a few times on the glass. Come on, come on! She winced as she heard Mike's voice again, anxiety overwhelming her to the point where she could barely breathe anymore.
No, what am I doing? She swallowed again, immediately losing her courage. And with a nervous shake of her head she turned aside, ready to leave when the door suddenly flew open.
Her heart jumped with fear, her throat working to stifle that startled squeal that wanted to escape her lips.
And within the following second she steeled herself in, forcefully turning to face him.
She couldn't contain that small gasp that parted her lips. There he was. The male that had managed to scare her to death only a few weeks ago. Standing before her...without the black baseball cap.
Her eyelids fluttered a few times in utter bewilderment. Wow... Her mind whispered.
Even though that small scar crossing his left eyebrow and the tattoos peeking out from underneath his black t-shirt made him look like the typical bad boy, his facial features however appeared so...weirdly innocent. He had such deep blue eyes. And flawless fair skin. He looked almost angelic. Like a fancy, smoothly-carved sculpture. High cheekbones. Strong jawline. Soft pink lips. Arched brows. Inky black hair that shone so beautifully in that soft twilight glow.
She stupidly continued to stare at him like that for another moment, mouth hanging open. She was lost for words. Why was he so...incredibly attractive?
His cerulean blue eyes trailed over her entire length, his dark brows furrowing when they found hers.
"Can I help you?" There it was. That voice that drew her attention. That made the tiny hairs on her body stand on end.
"N-no..." She meekly answered, her cheeks heating up so furiously. No. She couldn't do this. This was too much!
"Lydiaaa!"
Her eyelids fluttered shut, mentally screaming in utter embarrassment and frustration. She felt like crying all over again.
"Actually, yes you can. That is if you want to, of course," Her voice shook so violently. She could barely bear to look him in the eyes.
"Lydiaa!"
My god, won't he shut the fuck up already?
"I kinda need you to help me throw my insane ex-boyfriend out of my front yard who's now drunk and about to wake up the entire neighbourhood,"
"I'm kinda scared of him, to be honest," She lastly admitted, helplessly looking between those beautiful blue eyes.
"Baby, where are you?"
Witnessing her visibly distressed expression, Julian didn't waste another moment and stepped out of his home, waiting for her to take the lead and show him the way back into her house.
They quietly entered, crossing her home before they both arrived to the front door, the male rather boldly moving to open the door before she could.
"Uh...heyyy..." Mike slurred as his hazy gaze fell on the two, curiously staring at the weird tattooed male standing right next to his ex-girlfriend.
"Hey man, could you do us a solid and stop yelling? We were trying to watch a movie and you're kinda bothering us. Plus I think a few neighbours have already called the cops so if you don't scram outta here sooner..." Julian casually shrugged for emphasis, the drunken male quickly nodding in response, even though he didn't really understand what this shady-looking guy in front of him had just said.
"Oh...yeah..." He stumbled around to leave before he realized that he kinda wanted to ask,
"Who are you by the way?"
"I'm with her now man, so..." Julian quickly snuck an arm around Lydia's waist, taking notice of the tiny startle her body gave away as soon as his palm made contact with the bare skin on her mid-section.
"Oh..." Mike numbly mumbled through his semi-aware state, finally moving to turn around and make his way back to his parked car.
"Bye! Don't come bothering my girlfriend again 'cause I'll break your legs okay?" Julian quickly shouted after him in a rather friendly manner, despite the fact that he had basically threatened the drunken male, the girl audibly gasping from right next to him in utter astonishment.
What the hell?
"Yeah, okay man..." They heard the drunken male shout from a distance whilst giving Julian a thumbs up as if they were actual buddies.
Gosh...He's completely wasted...
She lightly shook her head with disapproval before closing the door.
Blowing out a tired yet relieved sigh, she made a few steps back towards the living room when she suddenly heard Julian ask from right behind her,
"Why did you invite me into your home, Lydia? Aren't you afraid of me? Didn't you say that you were going to file a restraining order against me?"
She only managed to blink a few times in utter astonishment, clearly taken aback by his words as she slowly turned around to face him.
"I-I was just...H-he was drunk and I know he can become a very difficult person to deal with in such a state," She rushed to explain as she dared look up into his oddly captivating eyes.
"Didn't seem like it to me," He tilted his head, his gaze becoming more and more intense with each passing second as it roamed all over her slowly heating up face, lowering to take a look at the state of her dressing.
A cropped t-shirt and a pair of cotton shorts covered the important bits of her body, and only now she was starting to realize that maybe that wasn't the best choice, considering the fact that not only a few weeks ago she had caught him peeping on her from his window as she pranced around naked in her room.
"Couldn't you have just called the cops or your mom like you did with me?" His voice audibly lowered as he took a step closer, making her breath hitch within her throat and her heart jump in fright.
"I-I...My mom would've killed me if she ever would've found out that he was here," She stammered, struggling to keep herself in check.
What was going on? Did she just make things only worse for herself?
He rose a brow, curiously gazing at her.
"L-long story..."
"Yeah, but you're alone with me now. You're alone and defenseless, and you invited me into your home. There are a thousand things I could do to you right now and no one would be able to save you from me," He so calmly said as he took a step closer, making her breath hitch within her throat.
Oh my god!
She widely stared up at him, limbs shaking and utterly petrified as he stood so close to her. She could feel his body heat. His warm breaths. That subtle and fresh perfume that clung to his skin. What was he doing?!?
"C-can you please leave now?" She weakly whispered to him with trembling lips, taking all the courage she could muster as she peered up into those blue eyes, praying that he wouldn't try to hurt her.
He gave her a one-sided smirk, leisurely gazing down upon her shaking frame.
"Just remember that next time, I won't be so kind anymore," He simply said before walking right past her and out of her home, leaving her completely shook and gasping for air.
