"If she is your mate, do you know her name?" Derek asked.
I gulped.
I didn't tell him my name.
"Come here, Elena" Derek said as Rex remained silent.
He glared at me then Rex's grip on my upper arm.
"Walk away, Rex, I am commanding you as your Alpha" Derek said.
That growling, that rage, that anger all died up immediately Derek said that and before my very eyes, Rex abandoned me. I felt betrayed, I felt broken, I felt dead as I watched him walk away without looking back at me. The floor suddenly grew soft and I felt I was going to sink, well, I didn't sink.
My body went limp as everything went black and silent.
