Chapter 4 The Crazy Devil
Under the moonlight, things aren't always as pretty as they seem. In those shadowy places where no light could reach, shady dealings often go down quietly, like sneaky little bugs doing things you can't see.
"Check her out, what do you think?"
Across from Building 17, the third-floor window was pitch black, revealing nothing. Suddenly, a flash of light, like a camera flash, lit up the darkness. Then, a man's voice emerged.
"Check her out, what do you think?"
The voice came from a man hidden in the darkness. He sounded like a sucker, a lowly servant trying to please his temperamental master. Hearing that voice, you couldn't help but want to slap him to shut him up.
A chilling silence followed, making it feel like an eternity. Finally, another man's voice, cold as ice, slowly responded, "Acceptable."
Just "acceptable"? Such a stunning beauty, and in this cold man's eyes, she was only "acceptable"?
"You mean she's okay?" The smarmy man was overjoyed as his voice tremble with excitement.
"You mean she's okay?"
"You said you haven't touched her yet?" The cold voice interrupted his laughter, bluntly.
"No, I haven't." The smarmy man's voice seemed to choke for a second before he cautiously asked, "So, what do you think?"
The icy voice fell silent for a long moment before begrudgingly spitting out two words: "It's fine."
"Fine?" The smarmy man's voice filled with surprise. "You mean, if she spends one night with you, the old debt is cleared?"
"Ten days." The cold man sneered in the darkness, his voice deep like a night hawk's, "She stays with me for ten days, and our old debt is settled."
"What? Ten days?" The smarmy man cried out in shock.
If there had been light, you would have seen his face turned deathly pale.
"Are you sure? No woman has ever lasted more than three days with you. What's the deal?"
"William Smith, since when do you get to tell me how to do things? Listen carefully! Ten days! If you don't agree, our deal is off." The cold man turned sharply, his fierce gaze piercing through the night, locking onto William.
"No! Don't cancel it!" William cried out in terror, nearly falling to his knees.
"I agree! I agree! Just ten days! I'll convince her right away! She'll agree! Please, have mercy!"
"You better be telling the truth! If I find out she's been with another man, I'll make sure you suffer. And don't let her know who I am, or you'll be in big trouble." The man finished with a cold laugh and walked away.
The unspoken threat was something William didn't even dare to imagine.
Left alone, William stared blankly at the now dark window across the street, filled with endless regrets.
He muttered to himself, his voice bitter, "Laura, Laura, I'm sorry! Who were you crying to on the phone? Do you already know I'm going to sell you out?"
Stumbling, William Smith made his way downstairs, each step feeling like it was crushing his heart.
Eventually, he stumbled into a dimly lit bar on the corner. As if seeking redemption, he desperately poured the strong liquor down his throat, trying to drown his fear and guilt.
As the night wore on and his stomach could hold no more, he finally stood up and staggered out.
His heart was filled with regret, but even more with deep fear of that cold man.
He knew that man was extremely cruel, making people wish for death over life.
Even the "gentlest" of his methods was something William never wanted to experience.
William walked home in a daze, his eyes fixed on the slightly ajar door.
In the darkness, his eyes glowed red, and his breathing became rapid.
He struggled to calm himself, reached out, and slowly pushed the door open, then walked into the bedroom step by step.
He first gently locked the door, then walked to the bed, gazing at the sleeping Laura in the moonlight.
Laura looked stunning in the night.
The soft moonlight highlighted her delicate face, making her even more beautiful, tempting anyone to touch her.
Her eyelashes were thick, and a faint smile played on her lips. Was she having a sweet dream?
Seeing that smile, William's eyes suddenly filled with intense regret and unwillingness!
Gritting his teeth, he suddenly yanked the blanket off Laura and pounced on her!
"Ah! Who?"
Laura felt a heavy weight press down on her, waking her from her sleep. She screamed and struggled.
"Who are you? William? What are you doing?"
Realizing it was William, Laura relaxed slightly, but her heart was still pounding with fear.
She screamed and tried to reach for the bedside lamp.
William's mouth was filled with the smell of alcohol.
He seemed completely out of his mind, his eyes empty and wild. He ignored her struggles, grabbing her hand that was reaching for the lamp and pinning it above her head. He kissed her face frantically while tearing at her nightgown with his other hand.
"No! William! Are you crazy? Get off of me! Help! Dad! Mom! Help!" Realizing his intentions, Laura was terrified, struggling and screaming.
"Laura, you're mine! You're mine!" William couldn't hear her screams, continuing to tear at her nightgown.
Her nightgown was already torn in several places, exposing large patches of skin.
This sight further inflamed William's senses, making him even more frenzied as he kissed her neck.
"You're mine! No one can take you from me. Laura, Laura."
"No, help!" Laura's voice trembled as she tried to avoid his hot breath. But William's body was like a rock, pressing down on her, making it hard to breathe.
Laura's vision darkened, and she almost passed out!
She dodged William's kisses and screamed louder, "Dad! Mom! Help! William, he, ah! No—"
Before she could finish, she screamed in pain.
William had bitten her hard, then panted, "Why are you screaming? Laura, we're about to get married. You're meant to be mine. What's wrong with getting close? Or have you fallen for someone else, so you won't let me touch you?"
