Chapter 3 :: Meeting Aldwin Rush Again

That afternoon, the restaurant fills up for lunch., Following Mario's cooking menu, working double shifts Aries had just arrived from school when Mario gave me a plate for him, I'm watching him eat when Rico calls.

“Don't leave this place” I said before I walked away. “Yeah, Rico?” “We have an important guest and you’re the one I trust to go serve him” I nodded. “Okay, I will attend to them,” I say and take my notepad. “Good evening, welcome to Monte El” I looked up and Mr. Rush was seated at the table, Rico shouldn't have sent me to serve a murderer, but I needed the money. “Oh, we meet again Kia Ray, right?” he says with a wicked smirk on his face. “Would you like to see the menu?” I ignored him, I knew this was not a coincidence that he was having dinner with his friends in Monte El, and I could tell he had paid Rico, he put him up to this, and Rico specifically requested I serve this guest. “I mean the last time you asked that you never see me again but these circumstances are inevitable, you happen to be a common waitress oh shame Dustin spoke highly of you” I pinch myself to bite my tongue I need the money, I can't get fired because of him. I chant my words to calm myself down he is not worth it. for Aries, I will take this and more. I flushed again. “Would you like to place your order?” I asked politely and he grinned staring at me. “How about you tell us everything on the menu?” He says winking at me, which makes my blood boil. “Well today we have an Italian-themed delicacy, I would recommend the Burrito, it would help fix your attitude” he stares at me flushing. “My attitude is fine thank you, what’s next on the menu?” his friend who seemed like a wiser one asked me for the menu and I handed him the menu. “We have Tagliatelle Bolognese sauce on the second page if you check, usually one of the Chef’s signature dishes,” I said but he wasn't here to have dinner, he was here to be mean. After reading every item on the Menu for him he flushes. “I will have the Burrito and a bottle of Red wine” I nodded staring at his friends who are yet to order. “I will have the risotto” I write it down. “I will have the in-house salmon” I took note and walked away.

Mr. Benson one of my favorite customers to attend to standing right there; “She is back” I flushed and hugged him. “I came back only for people like you,” I said “I will have the special for the evening” I chuckled as I helped him to a seat. “Coming right up” I walked into the kitchen and 29 was served. I took the meal to the table and placed it down carefully. But his spoon fell off to the ground. “Pick it up” I slowly pick it up and turn to leave but he stops me. “Did you just glare at me?” I knew I didn't but I knew he wouldn't stop so I turned back. “No I didn't, but it doesn't matter right because you’re not here for dinner, it's a shame too how Dustin spoke highly of you, and I get to meet you and this is all I see; Very disappointing....” I said and grins. “Now would you like anything else?” I stood by his side glaring at him. So he knows the difference when I choose to glare at him. “You may leave,” he says with a frown. I walked back to Mr. Benson, after which I was done for the night.

I changed and picked up Aries from the backyard where he was with Mario. While we were leaving I saw Aldwin Rush kicking his foot against his car. Banging the car loudly and screaming.

Aldwin Rush kept banging and calling the owner of Monte El to fire Kia Ray. He got into his car and through the drive home he kept screaming at Julian and Nile. “What is it about this woman that gets under your skin?” Julian asked because they had never seen Aldwin react like this. “She thinks she is better than me,” he says. “In my opinion, you pushed her too far, I mean that was mean as hell,” Nile says. “Eh— who's side are you on mine or hers?” Aldwin ask. “Give the lady a break you are trying to get her fired she just lost her husband,” he says “Which was majorly your fault but you’re the angry one,” Nile says and Aldwin stops the car. “get out of my car,” he says in a more assertive and more authoritative tone. Nile comes down, and he drives off “My fault, so I should have died, you think it's my fault too?” He asks staring into the review mirror but Julian is now minding his business. “I could have died you know but no one gets it,” He says. Once he pulled into the garage he threw his jacket on the floor heading into the elevator. In the morning he got a text from the owner Monte El saying they’d received his complaints and they would take immediate action. Kia had just arrived at work when Rico called. “Hey! Kia, Mr. Dawson would like to see you in his office right now” She walks into Mr. Dawson’s office, it is an old office, with a black wood table and a leather chair he was sitting on, and so many pails stacked with menus. “Good morning Mr. Dawson,”

she says and he glanced briefly and back into the desktop. “That's your check,” he says gesturing towards the white envelope on the table. “I don't get paid for another week,” I say and he turns his eyes to me. “You are fired Kia, an important customer filed a complaint last night and we just have to let you go” Dawson says. “I'm fired over a complaint?” shouldn't you hear why I said anything at all, he has been mean to me all night” she tries to explain but Mr. Dawson wasn't having it.

“Have you heard the term the customer is always, right?” he asked raising his voice; “But he didn't stop, Mr. Dawson i need this job please, i have worked here for the past four years and not once did you get any report, please give me another chance” she begs but Mr. Dawson stood up. “He spent fifty thousand just last night, we can't lose a customer like that because of you,” he says and throws the envelope at her. She walked back to her locker and sat down, all she thought to do was cry. People like Mr. Rush can't take what they dish out. She parked all her stuff in the locker,
