CHAPTER 2

Aria's POV

He didn't allow me to meet them. I wanted to see them one last time and say my goodbyes, but Rebecca informed me I wasn't allowed. I always imagine crying after my wedding day because of the thought of leaving home, it was supposed to be tears of joy and not of grief, grief caused by Elijah.

I had a last look at my childhood home, the home I grew up in, memories came flooding back to my head. The first day I rode a bike. The day I was told I was going to have a brother, the day Luke started school. The day I came home from graduation. My eyes met the broken swing, I will miss this place.

I have lived most of my life here, I can't even remember the last time I left home, I never moved out because I knew how much it would hurt Mom and Dad if I did that, so I figured even after I got married Josh and I would be somewhere near, in a place where I could always come home without any troubles, but now it's different, I'm being taken away from my home, my happiness is being snatched away from me and there is nothing I can do about it.

I hurt, I hurt knowing I did not possess the power nor strength to fight him, to make him stay away from us, a stranger just came into our lives and caused havoc.

"Where are you taking me?" I ask.

"Your new home. Elijah will be there waiting." She says and I nod.

A thought flicked through my mind. Tonight will be our first night together, I would rather not sleep with him, I don't want anything to do with him, he took everything from me. My happiness, my wedding day, I know I won't allow him to take this one thing from me.

It was beautiful, but I hated the fact that I liked it, I loved the organic garden beside the house, there was a fountain in the middle of the yard and a beautiful swan. I saw the devil himself clothed in an expensive suit, he wore a smile on his face, and he took my hand from his sister.

"I will take it from here," Elijah said.

"Please let me know if you need anything, I am still his big sister, and I would be willing to kick his a*s." She chuckled earning a laugh from him.

The devil laughs.

I withdraw my hand from him immediately after we walk into the house. He didn't budge instead he wrapped his hand around me pulling me closer to him.

"I won't tolerate disrespect Aria. I still have the lives of your family in my palm." A shiver runs down my spine when he says that,

"Why are you doing this?" I found myself asking.

"I wish we didn't get married under this circumstance, but I promise you it will be better from here." He says, he sounded sincere, but I would die before I believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

"You ruined my life," I whisper, and a tear slips out of my eyes.

"I'm sorry."

Did the devil just apologize to me?

"I am human, Aria, I can apologize." He smiles.

I got out of his hold. My heart pounded twice as usual just by being close to him, he is a devil I can never forget that. He ruined my life, he threatened to kill my family.

"Where is my room?"

"You will be staying with me." He says I was about to argue when I stopped myself, I have to save my family from him.

"Are you going to let go of my family?" I ask.

"I won't harm them as long as you behave," he smiles.

He walked us upstairs into a room, that was twice as large as mine back home.

"I'm guessing you want to get out of your clothes." My eyes widened when he said that.

"I am not sleeping with you," I say, I am willing to agree to anything, but this is not something I am willing to compromise. I won't lose my virginity to the man I hate.

"I won't ask that of you, I would never. I will only have s*x with you when you ask."

"I won't, it's never going to happen." I gritted through my teeth, it's something I know I would never bring myself to do, have s*x with the man who ruined my life, the man who took everything away from me.

"We will see about that." He says leaving.

I walked toward the second door in the room, I gasped when I saw what was behind the room, it was a closet filled with clothes, it had different things in it, my hand brushed through the clothes. I quickly slipped out of the uncomfortable wedding dress and changed into a pair of jeans and a tank top.

"I see you got changed." I hear his voice when I walk into the room.

"What do you want?" I ask.

"Come with me, we have to discuss the rules." He says and I nod.

He took me downstairs to meet his staff, everyone stood in the living room creating a perfect line.

"This is my wife, I expect respect from all of you. You will protect her before me." He says and they nod.

He has plenty of staff, he must have worked a fortune to get this kind of lifestyle, my parents were not filthy rich, but they always gave us what we needed.

"What do you do?" I found myself asking.

"I will let you know with time." He says.

He takes my hand leading me back into our room. He hasn't said anything about the rules.

"The rules." He begins to say when my phone begins to ring, it vibrates loudly on the dresser table, he walks toward the phone, and his eyebrows furrowed in anger.

"Who is Josh?" Elijah asked.

My heart skipped when he said that.

"My fiancée."
